Karan Kundrra and Elvish Yadav win Laughter Chefs Season 2, Karan says, ‘Season 1 ended abruptly, we didn't know what we were getting into'
Bharti Singh-hosted Laughter Chefs Season 2 concluded on Sunday with a grand finale celebration. While Karan Kundrra and Elvish Yadav were declared the winners, Aly Goni and Reem Shaikh finished as the first runners-up. Meanwhile, Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain secured third place. After winning the show, Karan and Elvish took home the trophy, while runners-up Reem and Aly got diamond stars. Karan Kundrra, who was part of the first season of Laughter Chefs, joined Season 2 midway, replacing Abdu Rozik and partnering with Elvish Yadav. While they proved to be strong contenders, the competition was fierce, with a narrow margin separating them from Aly Goni and Reem Shaikh. Until the semi-finals, Aly and Reem held the lead; however, the final round turned the tables. Watch A post shared by ColorsTV (@colorstv) Talking about Laughter Chefs exclusively with SCREEN, Karan Kundrra said, 'Season 1 had ended abruptly, and there were no winners. We were all figuring out what the show was like; it was supposed to be a filler show, and suddenly it became a rage. When season 1 got over, there was a gap, and there were 16 people in this season, other than Bharti and chef Harpal, so there were a lot of issues. But I wanted to be back on the show, because it's therapy.' He added, 'Laughter Chefs 1 was the first time I entered the kitchen in my life. I have never cooked before. I didn't know I had a knack for cooking and would enjoy it so much. By season 2, I realized how to make food tasty. Shooting for the show is way more fun. What translates on screen is just 40-50 minutes, but we shoot for 16 hours, so imagine all the fun we have. I was shooting in Dubai and would never miss a day. I would take a flight at 3:30 am after shooting all day and night, come here, and would not even feel tired, that's how great the contestants were in both seasons. ' Karan Kundrra also shared that he was initially skeptical when they were offered the first season of Laughter Chefs. 'Yes, we were skeptical. We didn't know what we were getting into. There were so many questions and apprehensions about working with 16 other people. I'll be very honest, actors are very insecure people; they don't want to share their screen space, everybody is worried about positioning, but we lucked out. In both seasons, nobody was negative on the show; that's what made it very happy to shoot. One wrong contestant and things could go South, but that never happened.' Lastly, Karan spoke about Season 3 of Laughter Chefs. 'I don't know if season 3 is in talks, but according to me, the show is inevitable. It has good ratings, and this show has reached worldwide.' Mimoh Chakraborty recalls the ‘mega stardom' wife Madalsa Sharma saw with Anupamaa: ‘My dad Mithun Chakraborty pushed her to take it up'
Actor Mimoh Chakraborty, who was last seen in Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, recently appeared on SCREEN's Dear Me Season 2. During the conversation, Mimoh opened up about his struggles and journey. He also expressed pride in his wife, Madalsa Sharma, for her success on television with Anupamaa. Talking about the time Madalsa was offered the show, Mimoh said, 'She got this show offered at the peak of COVID-19. Lockdown was in March and they started shooting in July. They were shooting in extreme conditions. She took the dare, and my dad pushed her and supported her to take this up. He always says that if you ever get a shot on TV, take it. He says that the generation today knows him because of TV, so we never let go of a good opportunity on TV if we get one.' Also Read: When Mimoh revealed father Mithun Chakraborty didn't help with his film debut: 'He didn't make me feel like a star kid' 'She took it, and the show became a blockbuster. She saw mega-stardom. Everywhere she goes, it's Anupamaa Ki Kavya. It's a proud feeling as a husband. I have seen her waking up every day at 5 am, leaving at 6 am for the shoot, and being on set at 7 am. They would shoot till 9-10 pm, and she would be so tired that she would fall asleep while having dinner. There is so much work to do in TV, but she never gave up,' Mimoh added. Talking about the success of Anupamaa, Mimoh Chakraborty said, 'I was completely blown away to see the popularity her character in Anupamaa got. None of us had imagined it would be the way it is. Even today, when we go out, 90 per cent of people call her Kavya. Anupamaa penetrated every generation. Her role was very strong. Kavya was a woman of today; she stood up for what she believed in.' Mimoh also spoke about how they got married and said that his dad, Mithun Chakraborty, had a crucial role to play in it. 'I had done a film with Madalsa's mom, Sheela David, called Hamilton Palace, and we had always known each other. That's how I met Madalsa. We were friends. There was familiarity. Her dad had worked with my dad. When the marriage conversations began, we just started talking to each other, and one thing led to another.' A post shared by Madalsa M Chakraborty (@madalsasharma) 'One day, I told her that my dad is very much into astrology, and I asked for her birth details to see what the future had in store for her. When I gave her birth details to dad, he said that we would make a good couple. When I told this to Madalsa, she thought it was very clever — kind of like a smooth way to DM her. And then, we got married,' said Mimoh. Mimoh Chakraborty and Madalsa Sharma tied the knot in 2018. On the work front, after Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, Mimoh will be next seen in the next installment of the Haunted franchise. Anita Hassanandani says she would also opt for limited work hours like Deepika Padukone: ‘Every parent wants to work lesser'
Actor Anita Hassanandani is all set to participate in Zee TV's reality show Choriyaan Chali Gaon. On the show, Anita, along with 10 other contestants, will be staying in a village for two and a half months, taking part in rural activities. During a conversation on SCREEN's Dear Me, Anita shared that saying yes to the show was a difficult decision as a mother, as she would deeply miss her son Aarav. She also expressed a wish to work shorter hours, similar to Deepika Padukone's recent request to the makers of Spirit. Talking about challenges that modern parenting comes with, Anita said, 'As parents, we are overprotecting our children. This generation does so much that sometimes I fear that we don't end up with the kids having phobias. I have been wanting to do work hours like Deepika Padukone. Every parent wants to work less so that they can spend more time with their child and watch every phase of them growing up. So, definitely I would look for fewer working hours, having a few days off in the week. Initially, I didn't want to work. Nobody asked me to do it, but I just wanted to be with Aarav every second of my life.' Also Read: Anita Hassanandani says she was 'completely awestruck' by Aishwarya Rai during Taal shoot: 'She was gorgeous to another level' Commenting on the concept of shelf life, especially for a female actor, Anita said, 'If you are a good actor, there is no shelf life. You can play different characters. But actresses do have a pretty short shelf life. For male actors like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, there is no end to it. On TV, getting back after a break is a problem. The industry is already assuming things after you become a mother. So even before you can say you don't want to work, they assume that you will be busy and you won't take up work. People think that work has taken a backseat and you wouldn't want to get back.' Pointing out that age also plays a crucial role, Anita said you need to be in a position like Alia Bhatt if you want to bounce back smoothly. 'If you are in a position like an Alia Bhatt who delivered a child and in three months she was working on Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, it's different. On TV, it's not so instant, you have to slog and come back out there. You have to be fit again, and also be ready.' Kajol reveals Ibrahim Ali Khan is a ‘quieter personality' than dad Saif Ali Khan, will be ‘sorted in life' even if he doesn't speak much on camera
Actor Kajol will soon be seen with Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the film Sarzameen. The film also marks the feature directorial debut of Boman Irani's son Kayoze; it will be released on Jio Hotstar on 25th July. Ahead of its release, Kajol spoke to SCREEN and shared what it was like to work with Ibrahim Ali Khan, especially after she had worked with his father, Saif Ali Khan, in several films. Both Kayoze and Kajol also shared their views on the scrutiny that children of stars face today. Talking about how different Ibrahim is to his father, Kajol said, 'The camera loves both the father and the son. Ibrahim is so inherently good-looking that he doesn't have to say much, just brood in front of the camera, and he is sorted in life. But he is a quieter personality than Saif. I have known Saif for years now, he is bigger and brighter, persona-wise, and always has been. But Ibrahim is going to do well.' Also Read: Kajol believes that Ibrahim Ali Khan needs to 'unlearn', 'reinvent': 'It's a do or die situation' Adding to what Kajol said, Kayoze said, 'Both Ibrahim and I were on a set for the first time, so we worked a lot on the film. We gave him six months of prep, and I am extremely happy with how it has turned out. He is a good kid; the camera just loves him. I think he is made for this.' Discussing if kids from film families often have to deal with higher expectations, Kayoze said, 'The expectations are high and they should live up to those expectations. People give their time and money to watch you, so you have to be outstanding, so why not have those expectations? With Ibrahim, we put in a lot of effort and did as much as we could. I also come from a background of privilege, but we put in our 1000 percent effort in doing it right.' Kajol also added, 'People are quick to judge everybody, whether they come from a film family or not. Right now, whoever is coming on screen has to be prepared for the criticism and for the credit or no credit that they will be faced with. That's part and parcel of what you signed up for when you do movies. It's something you have to be prepared for, and I think they are prepared for it. I don't see anybody being cowed down by it or saying this is unfair or anything like that.' Kajol was last seen in the horror-thriller Maa, which was produced by Ajay Devgn. The film received mixed reviews and performed modestly at the box office. Uorfi Javed says Apoorva Mukhija's fans sent her abusive DMs after their fight on The Traitors: ‘I shouldn't have spoken the way I did'
Reality show star Uorfi Javed won Karan Johar-hosted The Traitors. Soon after she was announced as the show's winner along with Nikita Luther, Uorfi became a victim of online abuse and trolling. Many social media users argued that fellow contestants Apoorva Mukhija and Purva Jha were more deserving of the title. Some criticised Uorfi for allegedly eavesdropping on a conversation between Purav and Harsh Gujral, which led to their eviction from the game. She was also slammed for 'backstabbing' Apoorva close to the finale. In a recent conversation with SCREEN, Uorfi reflected on their conflict and admitted she could have handled the situation better. Talking about their fight on the show, Uorfi said, 'Usually, fights are bound to happen on the show. I cannot dwell on them. I don't hate anyone, have no ill feelings towards anyone. They are all kids and have said something. They will laugh at it two years later, even I have done it. I am very impulsive.' Also Read: Uorfi Javed says she is receiving death and rape threats after winning The Traitors: 'People have always doubted me' Uorfi Javed further shared that disrespect has become a major trigger for her, and when Apoorva Mukhija spoke to her in that manner, it set her off. She said, 'I had a fight with Apoorva over respect. It is an insecurity I have. For so many years, I have been abused and disrespected so much that it has now made me insecure. Due to this, I cross certain lines and say things I cannot take back. I am completely at fault. During the fight with Apoorva, I could have handled the situation better. I shouldn't have spoken the way I did. I over-reacted. I just felt how dare she talk to me like that?' Discussing if they tried to mend the bridge at any point on the show, Uorfi said, 'We are two very different people, our personalities don't match. So we can't stay friends. I don't have anything against anyone, and I have no hatred for her. I didn't say anything on social media, but she went on to say a lot of things. When she said I am a pathetic human being and I was eyeing Harsh, I felt very hurt. I just wondered how anyone can get so dirty. She has a massive audience of youngsters, and everyone started abusing me. I have received so many abusive DMs because of her. I was in a very weird space. But later I realized that it was not worth it, it just affected me at that time. I need to work on my impulsive nature, though.' After winning The Traitors, Uorfi Javed shared the prize pot of Rs 70 lakhs with Nikita Luther. She is yet to announce her next project.
