Israeli forces strike ports in Yemen and Galaxy Leader ship, IDF says
Israeli Defense Forces struck three ports in Yemen overnight Monday local time, alleging that the ports are used by the Houthi forces to "transfer weapons from the Iranian regime," according to a statement from the IDF. In the IDF strikes on Yemen, Israeli forces also claim they struck the Galaxy Leader, a ship that was taken over by Houthi forces in November 2023, shortly after the war between Israel and Hamas started following the events of Oct. 7, when Hamas led a terrorist attack on Israel that left 1,200 Israelis dead and 250 taken hostage. The crew of the Galaxy Leader was held hostage from November 2023 until January 2025, when they were finally released as part of the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas earlier this year. Following the strikes, Houthi forces said they "effectively repelled" the Israeli attacks, according to a post from a Houthi spokesperson on X. Israel's strikes on Yemen come amid a fragile ceasefire deal between Iran and Israel following the 12-day war between the two countries. Israel and Hamas are currently negotiating a new ceasefire deal that would pause Israeli military action in the Gaza Strip and secure the release of some of the remaining 20 living hostages still being held by Hamas in Gaza. Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi to convene summit of ‘national cooperation' on Iran
Pahlavi has been actively supporting Iranian dissidents, particularly since Israel conducted Operation Rising Lion, striking Iranian military and nuclear facilities. Iran's Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi announced on Tuesday that he will "convene a summit of national cooperation" on Iran sometime "in the coming weeks." The "gathering will be held in Europe, and invitations are currently being sent out," Pahlavi wrote on X/Twitter. "I invite those forces who believe in the three principles of Iran's territorial integrity, individual freedoms and equality of all citizens, and the separation of religion from government, and who respect the Iranian people's right to choose the form of their future democracy, to participate in this conference," he added. "Our goal is to expand our national cooperation and present a roadmap for a democratic transition and the reconstruction of the country," he concluded. Pahlavi has been actively supporting Iranian dissidents, particularly since Israel conducted Operation Rising Lion, striking Iranian military and nuclear facilities. Pahlavi released a video on June 17 in which he stated that plans are in place for a 100-day transitional period if the Islamic Republic regime falls, adding that 'The Islamic Republic has reached its end and is in the process of collapsing.' On June 23, he held a press conference in Paris, calling for regime change in Iran and announcing that he would be forming an opposition front, referring to this as Iran's "Berlin Wall moment." On the contrary, they rejoiced as regime leaders were eliminated one by one. Their question was never, 'Why did this war start?' but rather: 'Why did it stop? Why didn't it continue? Pahlavi launched the campaign on June 29, following the announcement of a ceasefire in the Israel-Iran War. "I thank those who have joined the National Collaboration campaign, and I invite those who haven't yet to join as soon as possible," Pahlavi wrote. Pahlavi, on June 18, said that plans are in place for a 100-day transitional period if the Islamic Republic regime falls. On June 23, he called for regime change in Iran and announced that he would be forming an opposition front. Pahlavi condemned the Islamic Republic for its continual oppression of the Iranian people. He warned the international community against providing the Islamic Republic with a lifeline, saying that only a democratic Iran would stop the development of its nuclear program.
