The new Greater Toledo Classic fills the void left by the Dana Open, which ended its decades-long run on the LPGA last season. The new Epson Tour event is unique in that it combines a Legends of the LPGA tournament with the developmental tour. Weather suspensions forced the Legends event to be shortened to 36 holes. Angela Stanford beat Laura Diaz in a playoff to claim her fourth career title on the senior circuit.
"I've kind of been dealing with a minor injury," said Stanford, "and I did everything in my power to get here because I love this place. I love the people here, and it would have broken my heart if I couldn't play.'

BLAINE, Minn. (AP) — Kurt Kitayama finished a sizzling weekend with a 6-under 65 to win the 3M Open on Sunday by one shot over Sam Stevens for his second PGA Tour victory. Kitayama, who tied the tournament record with a career-best 60 on Saturday to enter the final round within one of the lead, birdied six of the first eight holes to take control on a 91-degree afternoon at the TPC Twin Cities.
