Yahoo4 days ago

According to a report from Sky Sports CH journalist Sacha Tavolieri, newly promoted Premier League side Burnley have agreed a €14m deal to sign Lazio's French winger Loum Tchaouna (22). It was previously reported that the deal had hit some complications when new Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri wanted to keep the player, but the Clarets are now looking to complete the deal early next week.
Tavolieri previously reported that the 22-year-old is keen on a move to England, and was pushing to move to the Clarets this summer. A five-year contract is already on the table for the player.

The France U21 international made his breakthrough for Stade Rennais before moving to Italy in 2023, representing Salernita before moving to the Italian capital to join Lazio last season. He has made 24 appearances for the Roman side this season, scoring one goal.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool star's next move

What is Robertson's next move? Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano provided an update on the left-back's situation. He said: "We don't expect Andy Robertson to go to Atletico Madrid anymore. Advertisement "Andy Robertson was a candidate, a strong candidate, for Atletico Madrid. They had concrete conversations, then the player was taking his time to decide his future, also out of respect with Liverpool, where he's still loving the club, the fanbase and all the people at the club. "... [We are] waiting to see what he will decide for his future." As such, the defender merely took too long for Atletico's liking, and so the Spanish club moved on. Whether the idea of moving to Atletico is something that Robertson was on board with, we don't know, but he was assessing his options, and it was not a straightforward decision. Advertisement Earlier in June, the full-back said his contract talks with the club were 'good' ahead of potentially entering the final year of his deal and he added that he was looking forward to preseason once he had spent a few weeks on holiday with his family after a long and tiring title winning season. However, since then, Milos Kerkez has been signed and the Hungarian admitted his admiration for Robertson, hailing him as 'the best left-back that played in the Premier League', in his interview via the club website, adding that it was important to be playing alongside a player with such experience. As such, many will be hoping that Robertson sees out his deal, becomes a mentor for Kerkez for the season, and filling in the gaps when required to, before getting a historic send-off from the Anfield faithful in May 2026 when he can then find somewhere to finish off his career before he retires. But a lot of conversations with Liverpool and other clubs will be had before we can feel confident in those events happening and while he won't go to Atletico Madrid, he could move elsewhere.

Fabrizio Romano: Quansah to Undergo £35m Leverkusen Medical on Monday

Jarell Quansah to Leverkusen: Liverpool Insert Smart Buy-Back Clause in £35m Deal Liverpool are set to bid farewell to one of their most promising young defenders, as Jarell Quansah prepares to complete a transfer to Bayer Leverkusen. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the 22-year-old centre-back is expected to undergo his medical in Germany on Monday. The deal is all but done — and Liverpool have ensured they remain firmly in the picture for his future. Liverpool Secure Strategic Buy-Back Clause The Reds will receive an initial £30 million fee, with a further £5 million in add-ons, bringing the total package to £35 million. More importantly, Romano confirms that Liverpool have negotiated a buy-back clause starting at £60 million, with the potential to rise to £70 million depending on add-on conditions. This move mirrors the strategic thinking behind past Liverpool exits, such as Rhian Brewster's switch to Sheffield United, where a buy-back clause was also inserted. But unlike Brewster, Quansah has already proven himself at Premier League level, making 17 league appearances for the Reds during the 2023/24 campaign under Jürgen Klopp. Long-Term Thinking From Liverpool Liverpool's decision to cash in on Quansah this summer might raise eyebrows among some supporters, especially given his age and potential. But the inclusion of a substantial buy-back clause suggests this is more of a long-term loan in disguise. If Quansah blossoms into a top-tier defender — which many expect he will — the club retains the right to bring him back, albeit at a significant cost. Advertisement It's a modern, data-driven approach to squad building — sell for profit now, buy back if the trajectory explodes. Our View – Anfield Index Analysis From a Liverpool supporter's perspective, there's a blend of pride and frustration in seeing Quansah depart so soon. He came through the Academy ranks and made a strong impression last season, with performances that belied his age. Calm under pressure, good on the ball, and physically strong — many felt he had the makings of a future Anfield leader. Yet, fans will recognise the logic behind the move. With Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konaté and Joe Gomez all vying for spots, playing time was always going to be a challenge. Under Arne Slot, Quansah may have risked stagnation, especially if new signings arrive in central defence. Advertisement The presence of a buy-back clause changes the emotional equation. It's not goodbye forever — more a calculated loan through the back door. And with ten Hag's Leverkusen offering Champions League exposure this could accelerate Quansah's development far beyond what squad rotation could offer at Anfield. There will be some regret, certainly — particularly if Quansah flourishes abroad. But Liverpool fans have seen this before, and they'll trust the structure put in place. If the buy-back clause proves necessary, it will mean Quansah has reached a level worthy of returning to Liverpool's first team. For now, he goes with the fans' blessing — and a close eye watching from Merseyside.

Manchester United close to sealing exit for Casemiro, negotiations at advanced stage with top club

Manchester United close to sealing exit for Casemiro, negotiations at advanced stage with top club Manchester United are in advanced talks with Al-Nassr over a deal for Casemiro, as per reports. The Saudi Pro League have been keeping a close eye on United this summer, having explored the possibility of signing a number of Red Devils. Advertisement Before the Club World Cup kicked off, Al-Hilal showed immense desire to sign Bruno Fernandes. The Riyadh-based outfit were prepared to hand the Portuguese a very lucrative contract, but the United skipper decided to continue at Old Trafford. Saudi clubs have also been linked with Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho, with United keen on offloading both wingers. Now, a report suggests that Al-Nassr are pushing to sign the veteran United midfielder. According to Saudi Arabian outlet Sport Jazirah (via the Manchester Evening News), Al-Nassr are close to signing Casemiro from the Premier League giants. Advertisement It is claimed negotiations are at an advanced stage for the transfer of the 33-year-old midfielder, who joined United in the summer of 2022 for a deal worth around £70m. The ex-Real Madrid man attracted interest from Saudi last summer as well but he eventually stayed, and in the second half of the season, he endured a promising form and emerged as one of Ruben Amorim's most important players. He started 10 Europa League games for the Mancunians. However, considering his age and wages, United would be better off cashing in on the Brazil international, who is currently their highest paid player. Casemiro's sale could also crucially raise funds for a new midfielder. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Amorim wants to strengthen his midfield but the club's hierarchy would only sanction a loan deal. Advertisement United are allegedly interested in Bayern Munich defensive midfielder João Palhinha, having conceded defeat in their pursuit of Atalanta midfielder Ederson, whose price tag is considered out of the club's reach.
