UPITS 2025 roadshow held in New Delhi
The New Delhi roadshow marked a key milestone in the run-up to UPITS 2025, which is scheduled to take place from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida. Themed 'Ultimate Sourcing Begins Here', the upcoming edition aims to enhance exports across vital sectors in the state, including MSMEs, electronics, IT, handloom and textiles, ODOP, Khadi and village industries, sericulture, food processing, automobiles, EVs, renewable energy, and traditional crafts.
The roadshow was presided over by Rakesh Sachan, Cabinet Minister for MSME, Khadi and Village Industries, Sericulture, Handloom & Textile, Government of Uttar Pradesh. He was joined by Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, MSME & Export Promotion, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, India Exposition Mart Ltd; Dr. Ajay Sahai, Director General & CEO, Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO); Dr. Neeraj Khanna, Chairman, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts; Shailendra Bhatia, OSD, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority; and other senior officials.
The event witnessed participation from representatives of foreign embassies, including those of Austria, Canada, Vietnam, Norway, and Singapore. A diverse group of trade associations, sourcing consultants, sectoral leaders, and industry stakeholders from across North India also attended.
Speaking at the roadshow, Minister Rakesh Sachan said, 'Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a promising hub of opportunity, driven by a strong focus on development, entrepreneurship, and global engagement.' He emphasized that UPITS is more than a trade exhibition—it is a platform to showcase the strength of Uttar Pradesh's industries, artisans, MSMEs, and entrepreneurs on a global stage. Improved infrastructure and law and order have allowed industries and MSMEs to thrive in the state. From handlooms and ODOP products to electronics, food processing, and renewable energy, UPITS reflects a powerful fusion of heritage and modern enterprise under one roof.
He further added that with exports rising from all 75 districts and increasing international interest, Uttar Pradesh is developing strong linkages across key sectors. 'UPITS is helping transform local excellence into global reach. It offers a space where buyers, investors, innovators, and producers can come together to build lasting partnerships. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Government of Uttar Pradesh is fostering a business-friendly environment through improved governance, equal opportunities, and industry-forward policies. UPITS 2025 is not just a trade event—it is a vision to connect the potential of Uttar Pradesh with the world,' Sachan said.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Exposition Mart Ltd and co-organiser of UPITS, highlighted the diverse sectors and high-performing products from Uttar Pradesh that will be featured at the event. He said, 'UPITS is a perfect sourcing platform that brings together all the products and services from the state in one place.'
Dr. Ajay Sahai, Director General & CEO of FIEO, spoke about the overseas buyers program and the financial support being extended with the help of the state government. 'FIEO is bringing together international buyers to explore the full manufacturing and creative potential of the state. UPITS is becoming an unmatched sourcing destination for domestic and global buyers across all product and service categories,' he noted.
The roadshow also offered a preview of UPITS 2025's expanded features, including new exhibitor categories, focused B2B meetings, curated buyer delegations, ODOP showcases, and dedicated export promotion zones. It serves as a strategic platform to attract wide industry participation and ensure strong buyer turnout from both regional and international markets.
This roadshow is part of a nationwide series designed to generate awareness and engagement for UPITS 2025. The Delhi edition specifically aimed to build stronger connections with sourcing consultants, institutional buyers, exporters, and industry associations from the capital and nearby regions. Upcoming roadshows are planned for Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad as part of the promotional campaign.
Building on the success of its previous editions—which attracted lakhs of visitors and buyers and generated business enquiries worth thousands of crores—UPITS 2025 is poised to be even more ambitious in scale and impact.

Delhi University UG admissions: Phase 2 of CSAS from July 8; first allocation list on July 19
New Delhi: The University of Delhi announced on Saturday that the second phase of its undergraduate admission process under the Common Seat Allocation System (UG)-2025 (CSAS-UG) will commence from July 8. According to a press release issued by the university, candidates who have completed the first phase must log in to their dashboard at to fill in their preferences for programme and college combinations. The preference-filling window will remain open till 11:59 pm on July 14. Once the deadline ends, the preferences will be auto-locked. Candidates who are yet to register will also be able to apply as the university has decided to keep both Phase-I and Phase-II open until the same deadline of July 14. The university has emphasised that due care must be exercised while ordering preferences. Additionally, a correction window has been announced for candidates who have already completed Phase-I. This one-time correction facility will be open from Sunday to 11:59 pm on Friday (July 11), allowing students to edit their application forms. However, the forms must be submitted in a single attempt and once submitted, they cannot be reopened. Live Events The university will declare simulated ranks at 5 pm on July 15, followed by a preference-change window until 11:59 pm on July 16. The first CSAS allocation list will be announced at 5 pm on July 19. Candidates must "Accept" the allotted seat by 4:59 pm on July 21, after which colleges will verify and approve applications until July 22. The last date for fee payment in the first round is July 23. Vacant seats will be displayed on July 24 and a preference-reordering window will be open until July 25. The second CSAS allocation list will be released at 5 pm on July 28 and candidates can accept their seats till 4:59 pm on July 30, followed by college approval by July 31 and fee payment by August 1. The university has advised candidates to regularly check the admission website -- -- for further announcements and updates. More rounds may be announced based on seat availability. The academic session at the Delhi University is set to begin on August 1. This year, the university is offering 71,624 undergraduate seats across 79 courses in 69 colleges. To enhance flexibility, the university has modified subject combination rules. Now, students can qualify with either one language and three subjects or two languages and two subjects, and whichever combination yields the best Common University Entrance Test (CUET) score will be considered. Additionally, the requirement of at least 30 per cent marks in the CUET language paper for BSc (Honours) programmes has been removed. A new auto-accept feature has also been introduced to ensure that students do not lose their allotted seats due to delays in accepting them on the portal. According to officials, the CUET-UG system has helped diversify the student body, drawing more applicants from small towns and various school boards, making the university more inclusive. The CUET-UG 2025 saw a record 13.5 lakh applications, with the highest number opting for English (8.14 lakh), followed by General Test (6.59 lakh) and Chemistry (5.7 lakh).

Odisha: Dharmendra Pradhan joins mass plantation drive under 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam'
Deogarh (Odisha) [India], July 5 (ANI): Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday took part in a mass plantation drive in Deogarh district of Odisha as part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, which has been gaining momentum across the state. The initiative, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and increasing green cover, has seen active participation from local communities, especially youth and rural residents. While speaking to ANI, Dharmendra Pradhan said, 'The program' Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' is becoming very successful. Whenever I have visited Odisha in recent days, I have seen a lot of excitement there. Yesterday I was in the Angul district... Today, I am in the Deogarh district, and there is a great deal of enthusiasm here. Lakhs of trees will be planted this time in this district.' The plantation drive is being carried out by the State Forest and Environment Department in collaboration with the District Administration. A day earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also lauded the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative and said that 50 crore saplings will be planted on July 9. CM Adityanath said, 'I remember that in 2017, when we organised the plantation campaign, I was unable to get even five crore saplings. Now, this time, when we are initiating a large plantation drive under the aegis of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, which we will join on 9th July, we have got 50 crore saplings for planting.' He claimed that by using modern technology, a farmer in Uttar Pradesh is earning a net profit of Rs 1 lakh per acre. 'Our farmer is earning a net profit of Rs 1 lakh in one acre. This shows that he has now started farming in a modern way; the result is visible to us. Similarly, there is new technology sugarcane,' the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said. 'Right now, we have established some centres of excellence for this purpose. Agricultural Science Centres are working in a new way. Japanese Envoy to India offers prayers at Hanumangarhi, Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya

The Ambassador, accompanied by his team, was seen wearing garlands and sporting a 'teeka' after offering prayers at the sacred sites. Keiichi's visit to Ayodhya came a day after his meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow. In a post on X, Keiichi said, 'Concurred with Yogi Adityanath for Japan- UP cooperation in investment, technologies, human-resource development and tourism. With more than 200 participants from more than 70 companies, we united for future collaboration in the sector between India and Japan.' The conference aligns with the broader push to strengthen India-Japan economic ties--a theme that was also highlighted earlier this year during the 48th Joint Meeting of the Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee (JIBCC) and its Indian counterpart, the India-Japan Business Cooperation Committee (IJBCC), held in New Delhi on March 6. He also visited the Indian Blind and Para Judo Association and interacted with the players there.
