Brighton sign Belgium defender De Cuyper
De Cuyper, 24, helped Brugge win the Belgian Pro League in 2023-24, and the Belgian Cup last season. He made his Belgium debut in June 2024, and has earned 10 international caps, scoring three goals.
"He has a great reputation for creativity and has shown his ability across different positions, although we primarily see him challenging for a left-back spot with us," Brighton coach Fabian Huerzeler said in a statement.
Brighton begin their league campaign at home to Fulham on August 16.

The report states that Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Napoli, RB Leipzig, Nottingham Forest and Fulham are all interested in the 20-year-old after he produced 17 goal contributions in 41 games last season. The report states that Lyon are hopeful the price will be driven up due to the amount of interest in Fofana. The French side do need to sell as their financial problems have seen them relegated from Ligue 1, although the club are appealing the decision. Diaz speaks out Luis Diaz has been heavily linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer, with both Barcelona and Bayern Munich said to be interested in signing the winger. And Diaz has now spoken out about the rumours, telling Colombian broadcaster WinSports: "It's not known yet, we're talking with the board. We're comfortable with where I am, and we'll have to see." However, it has previously been reported that Liverpool have do not want to sell the winger and have already rejected an approach from Bayern. Diaz scored 17 goals and provided eight assists across all competitions last season. Zubimendi joins Arsenal Arsenal have signed midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, just one year after he rejected the chance to join Liverpool. Zubimendi was reluctant to leave his boyhood club last year and the 26-year-old has now revealed why he has chosen Arsenal. "This is a huge moment in my career," he told the Arsenal website. "It's the move I was looking for and one I wanted to make. As soon as you set foot here, you realise how big this club and this team are. Ivanisevic, a former Wimbledon singles champion who now coaches Stefanos Tsitsipas, has lifted the lid on the mounting psychological pressures he sees elite athletes facing. His comments come in the wake of Alexander Zverev 's recent admission about his mental struggles where he described himself as empty, joyless and needing therapy as he crashed out of Wimbledon. 'When I listen to players, everyone's on antidepressants, Zverev says he's in a bad place,' Ivanisevic told Clay magazine. 'I don't know why they [the players] put so much pressure on themselves. Maybe it's outside expectations, society's expectations - they can't handle it.' Tennis icon Novak Djokovic believes social media is to blame for a lot of problems facing athletes today. 'Social media is extremely present and largely dictates the mood and daily rhythm of an athlete - especially young ones, but older ones too,' he told Sportklub. Viktor Gyokeres closes in on Arsenal transfer as Martin Zubimendi joins
Arsenal have finally completed the signing of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad and they are also closing in on a deal for Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres Arsenal are set for a huge summer in the transfer market as Mikel Arteta looks to add plenty of reinforcements to his squad. The Gunners have finished second in the Premier League for the past three seasons and will be desperate to go one better next season. Several players have also left the club, with Nuno Tavares and Marquinhos making loan deals permanent, while Takehiro Tomiyasu reached an agreement to terminate his contract 12 months early. Zubimendi joins Martin Zubimendi has finally completed his move to Arsenal, with the Gunners paying slightly more than his £51m release clause. Arsenal have forked out £55m for the midfielder in order to secure more favourable payment terms, with Zubimendi agreeing a five-year deal that runs until 2030. Sporting are holding out for a deal worth around £70m, with at least £60m paid up front, and Arsenal are understood to be pushing hard to reach an agreement with the Portuguese champions. Madueke agrees personal terms Arsenal have received a major boost in their pursuit of Chelsea star Noni Madueke after they agreed personal terms with the winger, according to a report from the Athletic. However, it is claimed that Arsenal and Chelsea have not begun talks yet, with the Gunners considering moves for a number of other wide options. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca was recently asked about Madueke's future and said: "My message to the players and to the club is that I want just players that are happy to be with us.
