Apple Store to close at The Mall at Partridge Creek in Clinton Township

Yahoo7 days ago
Apple is saying farewell to The Mall at Partridge Creek.
The tech giant confirmed late Wednesday, July 16, that it plans to close its Apple Store at the Clinton Township outdoor shopping center.
An Apple representative didn't say why they are leaving Partridge Creek, although a statement from the company attributed the closing to the planned future opening of a new Apple Store in downtown Detroit.
While the Detroit store's location has not been officially announced, it is expected to be inside a row of storefronts between 1426 and 1434 Woodward — just north of the Shinola Hotel and the redeveloped Hudson's site.
Apple's statement on July 16 didn't say precisely when the Partridge Creek store will close or when the Detroit store will open, aside from the opening happening sometime this year.
All workers at the Partridge Creek store will be given the opportunity to continue their roles at the Detroit store, the statement said.
The Apple Store is an original tenant of Partridge Creek, which opened in October 2007.
Other recent departures from the outdoor shopping center include Bar Louie, which closed June 29, and Forever 21, which closed earlier this year after the retailer filed for bankruptcy.
"We've loved serving the Partridge Creek community for nearly 20 years," the Apple statement said, "and look forward to welcoming our customers at our other stores in the Detroit metro area, including nearby Apple Somerset, as well as Apple.com and the Apple Store app.'

There are currently six Apple Stores in Michigan, with four in southeast Michigan: Somerset Collection in Troy; Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi; Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor and the Partridge Creek store.

Warren Buffett Says His $31,500 House Brings Him More Joy Than 10 Mansions — And He'd Rather Eat A McDonald's Burger Than A $100 Meal

Benzinga and Yahoo Finance LLC may earn commission or revenue on some items through the links below. Warren Buffett has been the richest man on Earth. He runs Berkshire Hathaway, a nearly trillion-dollar powerhouse with major stakes in Apple, Coca-Cola, Geico, and American Express. His personal net worth has floated around the $100 billion mark. If anyone could afford a private jet hangar attached to a marble mansion with voice-activated bidets, it's Buffett. Instead? He still lives in the same modest house he bought in 1958 — for just $31,500. Don't Miss: Maker of the $60,000 foldable home has 3 factory buildings, 600+ houses built, and big plans to solve housing — Inspired by Uber and Airbnb – Deloitte's fastest-growing software company is transforming 7 billion smartphones into income-generating assets – Located on a quiet corner lot in Omaha, Nebraska, the 6,500-square-foot stucco home isn't exactly small. But by billionaire standards, it's practically quaint. It was built in 1921 and sits just five minutes from Berkshire's headquarters — close enough for Buffett to skip a limo and still make it to work on time. Decades later, he still calls it one of his smartest buys. "It's my third-best investment," Buffett wrote in a 2010 Berkshire letter to shareholders. And unlike most billionaire real estate portfolios, which stretch across time zones and architectural styles, Buffett has never felt the itch to trade up. He just doesn't see the point. "Would 10 homes make me more happy?" he told People magazine in 2017. "Possessions possess you at a point." That's not some catchy slogan. It's how he lives — and eats. "I don't like a $100 meal as well as a hamburger from McDonald's," Buffett added. "That's the way I'm put together. I don't equate the amount I spend with the enjoyment I'm going to get from something." Trending: Invest Where It Hurts — And Help Millions Heal: His entire approach to real estate mirrors his investment philosophy: value first. Early in his marriage, he gave his wife a choice — they could spend their savings on a house or let him invest it. They waited. They bought the house later, when they could afford it without draining their capital. It wasn't about being cheap. It was about being smart. Buffett's house is now estimated to be worth between $1.34 million and $1.5 million — a 4,700% return on paper. But he doesn't care about that either. "I couldn't imagine having a better house," he told BBC in a 2009 interview. Buffett could live anywhere in the world. He chose to stay grounded — literally — in Omaha. No beachfront villas, no ski lodges, no sprawling estates with staff quarters. Just one home. The same one he's loved for over 65 years. And if you're wondering what he's having for dinner tonight? Probably a McDouble. Read Next: Warren Buffett once said, "If you don't find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die." Texas Instruments Stock Slumps on Soft Profit Forecast

Texas Instruments (TXN) shares dropped in extended trading Tuesday as the company issued a soft profit forecast. The analog chipmaker said it expects third-quarter earnings of $1.36 and $1.60 per share, below the consensus of analysts surveyed by Visible Alpha at the midpoint. Texas Instrument's revenue outlook of $4.45 billion to $4.8 billion came roughly in line with Street estimates. Texas Instruments shares dropped over 8% in extended trading following the release. The stock was up close to 15% for 2025 through Tuesday's close. For the second quarter, Texas Instruments reported revenue of $4.45 billion, up 16% year-over-year and above the analyst consensus from Visible Alpha. Net income of $1.3 billion, or $1.41 per share, rose from $1.13 billion, or $1.22 per share, in the year-ago quarter, also topping estimates. The company's semiconductors are used in a wide variety of electronic devices, including smartphones, vehicles, and satellites. Texas Instruments has said it counts Apple (AAPL), Ford (F), Nvidia (NVDA), SpaceX, and Medtronic (MDT) among those using its products. Last month, the company announced plans to invest over $60 billion in U.S. chip production, including on seven facilities in Texas and Utah.
