Rita Ora slammed for 'blatant lie' in TikTok video as they call out huge blunder

Daily Mirror22-06-2025
Rita Ora released her latest single Heat earlier this month and a video about the new song on TikTok this week has attracted teasing comments from fans on the platform
Fans have poked fun at Rita Ora after she shared footage of herself that was taken on a plane this week. Viewers have questioned a situation that she suggested had happened whilst on board the flight in the recent video message.
The update from Rita, 34, comes after she released her latest song Heat earlier this month. She's been promoting the new single, which includes Troye Sivan among its songwriters, at recent performances, like during her set at Capital 's Summertime Ball 2025 last weekend.

The singer-songwriter has also been posting about Heat on social media lately. It's included on TikTok, where she has more than 3 million followers. One of her posts about the song on the platform this week showed Rita sat on a plane.

She teased that she had heard her new single being played by someone sat next to her on the flight. The video showed her reacting, with her writing over it: "Me: Hearing heat playing out of the person next to me's headphones."
Rita's seen wearing a face mask at the start of the video, before removing it. Sporting headphones herself, she then lip syncs to Rihanna singing: "Uh oh! Boner alert!" The lyric is from the Lonely Island song Shy Ronnie 2: Ronnie & Clyde.
The MTV Video Music Award winner wrote in the caption of the video that was uploaded to the platform just days ago: "He's definitely got good taste." She concluded the caption of her post with an emoji depicting a tongue.
Fans didn't seem convinced that the situation had actually happened though. One person reacted: "Out of all the things that have never happened, this has never happened the most." Another said: "Girl that 100% did not happen."
A third viewer teased: "You have a lovely imagination." Someone else said in their response to Rita's video: "Hey, let's be nice. Her headphones likely disconnected and she didn't understand the song was playing from her phone."

Others pointed out that she was wearing headphones herself. One commented: "You heard it with your headphones on??" Another said: "She must have great hearing to be able to hear music from someone else's headphones while wearing headphones herself."
Someone else suggested that her husband Taika Waititi may have been beside her on the flight. They teased: "It's your husband next to you." Several fans shared their amusement over the comments on the post. One wrote beside laughing emojis: "These comments are killing me."

Rita's post has amassed more than 60,000 likes on the platform. It was followed-up by two other videos of her sat on board the flight, including one where she expressed gratitude to her supporters and teased it's "just the beginning".
She wrote over footage of herself looking teary-eyed: "Flights make me emotional and grateful." In the caption, Rita added: "So grateful for all I have thank you to all the lovely people in my life and the ones who have supported me from the start - it's just the beginning."
Then, in a third video taken on the flight, she shared "advice" for fans. The video showed her putting her middle finger up to the camera as she smiled. Over the clip, she wrote: "POV: nobody. Me: the F's I give." She added in the caption: "Bit of advice for anyone who doesn't match your energy or bring good vibes - protect your ORA."

Rita Ora turns heads in a busty black midi dress as she joins Jamie Foxx, Frida Aasen, and Kelly Rutherford at the Summer Gala in Saint-Tropez

Rita Ora turned heads as she attended the Summer Gala by Gala One in Saint-Tropez on Thursday. The singer, 34, posed up a storm on the red carpet, joining Jamie Foxx, Frida Aasen, and Kelly Rutherford at the glamorous event. Rita wowed in a busty black midi dress that hugged her incredible figure, pairing it with black heels. She carried a black velvet handbag embroidered with delicate vintage blue flowers to complete the look. Jamie, 57, looked dapper in an all-white suit and shirt combo, finishing with white trainers and a silver chain. He was joined by his daughter Corinne, who stunned in a black cut-out dress with a dramatic thigh-high slit. The singer, 34, posed up a storm on the red carpet, joining Jamie Foxx, Frida Aasen, and Kelly Rutherford at the glamorous event. Model Frida, 30, was effortlessly elegant in a satin brown halter-neck gown that highlighted her bronzed glow. While Kelly Rutherford, 56, looked radiant in a white off-the-shoulder lace dress, adding white heeled mules and a Birkin bag. Also in attendance were Victoria Silvstedt, Casey Affleck, and Chantel Jeffries. The glamorous evening brought together stars from film, fashion, and music for a dazzling night on the French Riviera. The event comes just days after Rita admitted that she felt 'ugly' in her late twenties because she 'wasn't as thin as other people'. The singer appeared on Fearne Cotton's Happy Place podcast in partnership with Dove's Self Esteem Project for a candid body confidence chat. Rita opened up about how her relationship with her body has changed in recent years, as she revealed she used to feel like her body wasn't 'hot'. 'I think for me the idea of looking a certain way in my late 20s, that's when it started to hit me because my stamina was low, I wasn't looking after my body, I was getting sick a lot and I didn't feel like my body was hot,' Rita said. 'And I didn't accept the idea of okay well I'm not as thin as these other people - and so I'm ugly. And that's really sad to think back on because I know I wasn't. 'It's like what you do when you're attacking your younger self like in therapy, and it's like that girl was still really beautiful.' Sharing the clip on Instagram on Wednesday, Rita wrote: 'I sat down with @Dove and @HappyPlaceOfficial to share why I believe body confidence starts with self care focusing on what your body needs - not what it looks like. 'Proud to partner with the Dove Self Esteem Project on #Why2k - together we're rewriting the rules and helping women build body confidence.' It comes after Rita recently revealed how Beyoncé has always been her 'protector' as she discussed being hit by speculation that she was 'Becky with the good hair'. Beyoncé's smash hit 2016 album Lemonade featured poignant lyrics about cheating and she sang about the mysterious woman in her track Sorry. Fans widely speculated it referred to alleged infidelity by Beyoncé's husband Jay-Z with a woman called 'Becky', and theories began circulating online about her identity. Rita found herself at the centre of the rumours as she was wrongly accused of having an affair with Jay-Z, with the singer forced to hit back and deny the claims. Now, Rita - who was represented by Jay-Z's Roc Nation label at the time - revealed she was so upset by the claims because Beyoncé has always been her 'protector'. Speaking on Davina McCall's Begin Again podcast, Rita explained: 'Behind closed doors, [Beyoncé] is literally my fairy godmother, she was my protector - that's what's insane because there was nothing but love.'

Aldi selling TikTok viral health drink for just £1.49 as shoppers hail it ‘amazing'

A NEW TikTok health craze is hitting Aldi shelves — and it's only £1.49. Shoppers are raving about the budget supermarket's brand-new drink, calling it 'amazing'. 6 Available in stores across the UK from July 24th, Aldi's Original and Strawberry Matcha Lattes (84g) are already causing a stir online. The excitement follows a viral post by British nutritionist and TikTok star GQ Jordan, who shared five creative ways to use the powdered drink — and fans can't get enough. The green tea blend has become a must-have ingredient in kitchens up and down the country, thanks to Jordan's unexpected twist on traditional recipes. She's managed to whip up everything from cottage cheese ice cream to creamy hummus, all using matcha as the star flavour. In the video, GQ Jordan also shows how to make a vibrant matcha pesto pasta, rich matcha French toast, and even bite-sized matcha cheesecakes — proving the viral drink isn't just for sipping. Her fans were quick to react, with one saying: 'These look amazing! "Who knew you could create so many different recipes with Matcha.' It's not the first time a TikTok trend has had shoppers flocking to Aldi, but this one is proving especially popular with health -conscious buyers. Many are ditching their usual coffees and teas in favour of this green powerhouse, known for its antioxidant benefits and gentle caffeine boost. The matcha lattes come in two flavours — classic Original and fruity Strawberry — both designed to be mixed with water or milk for an easy at-home drink. 'Absolutely delicious' shopper exclaims at new Aldi summer bargain essential that's perfect for BBQs But thanks to GQ Jordan's inspiration, shoppers are now experimenting far beyond the mug. It's not the first time TikTok has helped turn an Aldi product into a must-have. Earlier this year, the retailer's high-protein puddings became a viral sensation, praised by fitness influencers as the perfect post-gym snack. Frozen avocado chunks also took off after TikTokers revealed their go-to smoothie hack — a fuss-free, freezer-friendly way to get your greens. Beauty lovers, meanwhile, have flocked to Aldi for its £1.99 collagen shots, touted online as affordable alternatives to premium wellness brands. Even recipe hacks have taken hold, like air fryer pizza wraps made with Aldi tortilla wraps — a quick, crispy snack that exploded in popularity. And thanks to TikTok's love of budget 'dupes,' Aldi's shelves are constantly being scoured for lookalikes of trending protein bars and snacks, offering big savings without compromising on flavour. 6 6 6
