Paramount Plus drops first 'NCIS: Tony and Ziva' trailer
After more than 20 years and six spin-off series, the "NCIS" television universe will further expand with the premiere of "NCIS: Tony and Ziva," which will see Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo reprise their roles as former NCIS special agents Anthony 'Tony' DiNozzo and Ziva David.
In a franchise first, the 10-episode series will forgo the usual "NCIS" home of CBS for Paramount Plus, marking the first title in the "NCIS" universe to be developed exclusively for a streaming platform.
The new crime procedural will pick up in Paris, France, where Ziva and Tony have been raising their daughter Tali, after Ziva's presumed death and subsequent return for one last mission. However, when Tony's security company is attacked, the duo must go on the run across Europe and try to figure out who is after them — all while learning to trust each other again. You may like
(Fun fact: it will mark the characters' first time appearing onscreen together in 12 years, since the "NCIS" season 11 episode "Past, Present and Future.")
'I expect intrigue, romance, the background of Europe, impossible situations that will make our life very complicated but somehow a little something about love,' De Pablo revealed in a May 2024 Instagram video.

"NCIS: Tony and Ziva" — which also stars Amita Suman, Maximilian Osinski, Julian Ovenden, Nassima Benchicou, Lara Rossi, Isla Gie, Terence Maynard and James D'Arcy — does not currently have an official premiere date set, though we do know that the new eps will drop sometime in fall 2025.

'I'm excited to tell a single, serialized story of intrigue and espionage over 10 episodes, getting the chance to delve more deeply into Tony and Ziva's complex relationship, their on-again/off-again romance and the way they manage to co-parent their daughter Tali, heightened by the sudden jeopardy they all find themselves in."
Added Weatherly: 'It was surprising how Cote and I just fell into this new place with our characters. Informed by the past, illuminated by the present and trying to see a future together. These characters are on the adventure of a lifetime. And hopefully, so is the viewer.'

Stephen Colbert Issues Donald Trump Warning On Late Show
Last week, people everywhere were shocked to hear that CBS had made the decision to cancel The Late Show, hosted by Stephen Colbert, and that the final episode will air in May 2026. The network insisted that the reason they were bringing the long-running show to an end is due to 'financial decisions.' However, there is rampant speculation that it is actually a result of President Donald Trump's personal dislike for the show and Stephen. In fact, multiple CBS staffers told the Independent that they think the decision was made as part of the 'Trump shakedown' that began with the network's parent company Paramount's $16 million settlement with Trump over Kamala Harris's appearance on 60 Minutes, which he claimed was 'election interference.'Interestingly, Stephen's abrupt announcement about his show being cancelled came just days after he'd criticized this settlement on the show, calling it a 'big, fat bribe.' Needless to say, the whole situation has been met with uproar from big name celebrities as well as viewers, with Jimmy Kimmel leading the charge against CBS when he posted: 'Love you, Stephen. Fuck you and all your Sheldons, CBS,' seemingly referring to the network's many Big Bang Theory spin-offs about the character Sheldon. Trump, however, had quite the opposite reaction. After the news broke, he took to Truth Social to laud CBS for the decision, writing: 'I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings.' 'I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next,' Trump went on. 'Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.'And Stephen hit back at the president with a simple three-word response when he returned to air for Monday's episode of The Late Show. Responding to the post, Stephen said: 'How dare you, sir? Would an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism?' an onscreen frame then appeared around the host, captioned 'Eloquence Cam.' Stephen looked directly into the camera and pointedly said: 'Go fuck yourself.' He then referenced Trump's comment about Jimmy Kimmel, saying: 'Nope, no, no. Absolutely not. Kimmel, I am the martyr — there's only room for one on this cross!" Stephen vowed to spend the last season of his show speaking 'unvarnished truth to power,' telling viewers: 'Over the weekend, it sunk in that they're killing off our show, but they made one mistake: They left me alive. And now, for the next 10 months, the gloves are off.' "I can finally speak unvarnished truth to power and say what I really think about Donald Trump, starting right now,' he went on. 'I don't care for him. Doesn't have the skillset to be president. Brandon Routh 'Cried No Less Than Three Times' Watching 'Superman'
The 2025 reboot of Superman has been an especially important one, serving as the first live-action film of the new DC Universe. Judging by all accounts, whether it's been the initial reception from critics, fans, or those all-important box office numbers the James Gunn-directed film has been putting up, one can probably safely say it's been a huge success. Having just released in theaters nationwide on July 11, Superman has already seen a domestic box office total of $235 million as of July 20, not to mention $406.8 million globally. We have even reached the point where another Superman, Brandon Routh, who starred in Superman Returns (2006), was so moved by the reboot starring David Corenswet it apparently brought him to tears multiple times. "It was a lot of fun," Routh said on Jul 21 while promoting his new film, Ick. "I really enjoyed it. I think David [Corenswet] is fantastic. I cried no less than three times." From one Superman to the latest Superman, to say you cried "no less than three times" while first seeing the film, in addition to expressing the desire to go see it again, feels like a compliment of the highest order for Corenswet. And, really, Gunn too. "I see this in a different way. I come at it from a different perspective," Routh explained. "I really got into it as I'm watching him navigate those tricky Superman moments in the first conversation with Lois and Clark in the apartment. And then all of the family stuff for me really hit. It's a big movie. There's a lot in there. I have to go see it again." Routh has notably been on the Superman hype train since its domestic release, posting, "Go see #Superman in theaters now!" on Instagram while tagging the movie and some accompanying heart emojis. The 45-year-old actor went on to express excitement over "the potential for the DC Universe,' adding, 'A successful launch with this is just good for everybody who wants more of what DC has to offer." Anne Burrell's Death Being Investigated as Possible 'Drug Overdose,' Reports Say
A medical examiner will determine the final cause of death for beloved Food Network star Anne Burrell, but a new report has provided a disturbing detail. The New York Times obtained a document that shows the death is being investigated as a "possible overdose." Burrell, 55, was discovered deceased in the shower of her Brooklyn home by her husband Stuart Claxton, according to the Times, which reported that there were many pills found in the vicinity. Burrell had posted on Instagram about attending an improv event the night before she died, and seemed to be in good spirits in her last post. The New York City Police Department is investigating Burrell's death "as a possible drug overdose, according to an internal document," the Times wrote. That document says Burrell was 'discovered in the shower unconscious and unresponsive surrounded by approximately (100) assorted pills," the Times wrote. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and, although an autopsy was completed, the cause and manner of her death remained pending, the Times reported on June 20. Burrell was known for her feisty personality as she mentored chefs on the popular show the Worst Cooks in America TMZ also reported that the possibility of a drug overdose is being investigated by the police. The NYPD "is looking into the possibility the late Food Network star ingested a fatal amount of drugs," TMZ wrote.
