AICC Leaders Visit Sri Jogulamba Temple on Amavasya; Participate in Chandi Homam with Devotees
Gadwal: On the occasion of Amavasya, a significant spiritual event was observed at the revered Sri Jogulamba Bala Brahmeshwara Swamy Temple in Alampur, Jogulamba Gadwal district. As part of the sacred observances, a Chandi Homam was conducted at the temple premises, drawing participation from 220 devotees.
Among the notable attendees were prominent leaders from the Indian National Congress (INC). AICC Secretary and Telangana In-charge Mr. Viswanath, accompanied by AICC Secretary and former Alampur MLA Dr. SA Sampath Kumar, paid a solemn visit to the temple and offered prayers to the deities. The leaders were joined by Telangana Finance Corporation Chairman Mr. Deepak John and District Observer Mr. Venkatesh, who also took part in the spiritual proceedings.
The Chandi Homam, a powerful Vedic ritual dedicated to Goddess Durga (Chandi), is traditionally performed to invoke divine blessings, seek protection from negative influences, and ensure prosperity and peace. Held on the auspicious new moon day (Amavasya), the ritual witnessed enthusiastic participation from the devotees, temple priests, and spiritual seekers.
The leaders also interacted with devotees and temple authorities, emphasizing the importance of preserving Telangana's spiritual heritage and supporting temple development initiatives. Speaking on the occasion, former MLA Sampath Kumar expressed deep reverence for the temple's historical and spiritual significance and pledged to support its continued growth and preservation.
The presence of key political figures at the event added a distinct prominence, blending devotion with public engagement, and underlining the cultural importance of the Sri Jogulamba temple, which is one of the Astha Dasha Shakti Peethas of Goddess Shakti.
Temple authorities thanked the visiting dignitaries and devotees for their participation and concluded the day's rituals with traditional offerings and blessings.

The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday (June 29, 2025) demanded for the formation of a Brahmin welfare board in the State for the upliftment of the community. Criticising certain alleged nefarious elements for targeting the community, the RLD National Secretary Anupam Mishra added a comprehensive survey should be conducted to assess the socio-economic condition of the Brahmin community, forming the basis for a concrete policy. 'The Brahmin community has historically made a vital contribution to the cultural, educational, religious, and administrative growth of the State. There is a pressing need for targeted support to economically weaker sections within the Brahmin community, especially in the fields of education, healthcare, employment, and social empowerment. Therefore, I believe that the establishment of a Brahmin Welfare Board in Uttar Pradesh is the need of the hour,' told Mr. Mishra, to The Hindu. The RLD leader said he wrote a letter to U.P. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath this week, pressing the demand highlighting that several States such as Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and more recently Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have already established dedicated boards or commissions for the welfare of Brahmins, which are actively implementing schemes to enhance the community's socio-economic condition. 'If the board is constituted, special schemes could be introduced for economically weaker Brahmin families, including scholarships, self-employment assistance, coaching support, and housing, apart from security and honorarium schemes for temple priests and Vedic scholars,' added Mr. Mishra. The demand holds significance in the light of various social organisations pressing their community issues amid widening caste centric divide.

Congress says the BJP is delaying implementing 27% OBC reservation in Madhya Pradesh
Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being against the Backward Classes, the Congress on Saturday (June 28 2025), alleged that the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh has been wilfully delaying passing on the benefits of 27% reservation in State government jobs and institutions despite a law enacted by the State Assembly. The party demanded immediate implementation of 27% reservation for the OBCs in Madhya Pradesh as it has been categorically cleared by the Supreme Court of India as well. Addressing a press conference at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters, senior party leaders, including former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, AICC in-charge for Madhya Pradesh Harish Chaudhary, MP Congress chief Jitu Patwari, and the head of the Congress's OBC department Anil JaiHind, said the delay in implementing the reservation is revealing the State government's anti-reservation and anti-Backward Class mindset. Mr. Chaudhary said in 1994, the Congress government had provided 14% reservation to the OBCs and subsequently, in 2003, proposed the quota to be raised to 27%. However, since then, the BJP has been in power in the State and it never took any decision to implement the decision. When the Kamal Nath government was formed in December 2018, it brought an Ordinance to provide 27% reservation for OBCs in 2019. 'The BJP challenged it in court, which then directed that a law be enacted on the matter. We subsequently got the Bill passed in the Assembly. But the BJP formed the government again, and it did not implement the reservation,' Mr. Chaudhary said, adding that the pleas against the 27% quota were by the High Court and the Supreme Court as well. Chhattisgarh issue Mr. Baghel said that the Congress government in Chhattisgarh had unanimously passed a law in December 2022 for providing 27% reservation to the OBCs, but the Bill is still to get the nod of the Governor. 'This is because the BJP does not want to provide 27% reservation to the OBCs,' the former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister said. 'We will not only fight the issue legally, but will raise it publicly to build pressure on the BJP government to implement it,' he added. Mr. Patwari said that it was strange that Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he belonged to the OBCs but was not providing the community its rightful due. 'The OBC Chief Ministers of MP belonging to the BJP, including Uma Bharti, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Mohan Yadav, have all betrayed their own community,' he said.

CM Siddaramaiah agrees there'll be change after September, but says won't be ‘revolutionary'
BENGALURU: While slightly agreeing with the opinions of his close associates and cabinet colleagues that there would be considerable political developments after September, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday clarified that these changes will not be revolutionary as suggested by some. 'Cooperation Minister KN Rajanna said there could be developments in state politics but did not specify what. Rajanna's statement deserves to be ignored. I am not a journalist to interpret it,' Siddaramaiah told reporters at Vidhana Soudha in the company of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on the sidelines of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Jayanti. Siddaramaiah's Man Friday and PWD minister Satish Jarkiholi, a strong contender for the KPCC president post, admitted on Thursday that there will be some change in October-November, especially with regards to cabinet reshuffle. Sources said Siddaramaiah is keen to get the high command's approval for the cabinet rejig and hopes it will happen in September, a month before he completes two-and-a-half years as CM. On Friday, Rajanna reiterated his Thursday's statement that there would be enormous changes and said politics is not stagnant water. 'I am predicting a cabinet reshuffle, while others about a change in the KPCC president post and even change in the CM post,' he said. Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara said that though he had no information about any revolutionary change, Rajanna might have his own information. Parameshwara on Thursday met Siddaramaiah and also Large-scale Industries Minister MB Patil and discussed developments after the visit of chief minister and his team to New Delhi, where they met AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, AICC general secretaries K C Venugopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala.
