2026 5-star DL commits to Texas A&M over Clemson and Texas
Texas A&M was not the favorite early last month, but after his official visit to College Station, coach Mike Elko and defensive line coaches Sean Spencer and Tony Jerod-Eddie gained significant ground with the standout pass rusher, developing a tight bond based on trust and a clear development plan once he enters the program.
On the field, Perry-Wright broke out during his 2024 junior season, recording 57 tackles (13 for loss) and nine sacks, which helped lead his team to the playoff semifinals and earned him a spot in the Navy All-American Bowl. Wright may lack elite measurements, but he plays with consistent energy with a game-wrecker mentality that has been comparable to Chicago Bears defensive lineman Grady Jarrett.
With the Aggies, Wright is expected to play defensive end, similar to one-year rental Nic Scourton, who thrived during the first part of the 2024 season.
According to 247Sports, Bryce Perry-Wright is currently positioned as the 32nd-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 2nd-ranked defensive lineman, and the 5th-ranked prospect in Georgia.

Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith burst onto the scene last year, fresh out of high school, to become one of the best players in the country and put together arguably the best season by a freshman wide receiver ever. He won't sneak up on anyone this year and will be known as -- if not the best -- then one of the best players in the country and one of the preseason frontrunners for the Heisman Trophy. It's hard to win the Heisman as a receiver, however, and his impact on a game is more than the stats you see at the end of games. Don't get me wrong, he'll surely put up some numbers again, this time in his sophomore season, but he's going to garner a lot of attention in multiple layers of the field that should open things up for others like receivers Carnell Tate and Brandon Innis, and tight end Max Klare. But Smith will also have the attention of the opposing coaching staffs. Just ask Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian, who got to see him up front and in person during last year's College Football Playoff semifinal Cotton Bowl. He took some time to talk to Colin Cowherd and was quick to praise the generational talent that Smith is, even comparing him to a former NFL All-Pro star. 'You know, it's interesting. I had a chance to coach Julio Jones for two years in Atlanta," Sarkisian told Cowherd. "Reminds me a lot of him. So big and physical but yet fast. I mean cover ground, so strong at the point of attack when the ball's in the air. You see just the ability to make contested catches. "That's where your attention needs to be. But, hey, they've got really good coaches. He's going to be moving around. He's not going to be lining up in one position all the time. Ideally, you've got multiple people with eyes on him and guarding him, but you still have to play great team defense, and you've got to have ability to stop the run and you've got to cover the other two wideouts they have that are two really good players, too. I do think there's a multitude of things that you can do well, but you better know where No. 4 is at all times." The Longhorns did indeed know where Smith was last year and had a very good game plan to take him pretty much out of the game. He only had one catch for three yards against Texas, but again, that opened up opportunities for other players. Carnell Tate had seven catches for 87 yards and Will Howard still threw for 289 yards. You can bank on Smith putting up bigger numbers than that on August 30. Rodrigo De Paul joins Inter Miami from Atletico Madrid
Inter Miami have completed the signing of midfielder Rodrigo De Paul from Atletico Madrid. The 31-year-old will link up with his Argentina international team-mate and close friend Lionel Messi – who is out of contract at the end of the 2025-26 season. The Athletic reported De Paul had been on the Miami's radar for some time but interest accelerated following Atletico's exit from the Club World Cup last month. 'Rodrigo de Paul is leaving Atletico Madrid and will continue his professional career at Inter Miami,' an Atletico statement read. Miami is yet to confirm official contract and transfer terms. Busquets, Messi and Jordi Alba hold the three Designated Player (DP) spots on Miami's roster, and Alba signed a new deal earlier this year with Messi soon expected to follow suit. Advertisement Until a DP spot opens up, Miami are capped at paying a total of $850,000 in fee plus salary for De Paul in 2025. A DP spot could open up if Busquets retires midseason or De Paul could start on a more modest, cap-friendly salary now before negotiating a new deal in 2026. De Paul has been a first-team regular for Atletico since joining the Spanish club from Udinese in 2021. The midfielder helped Argentina win the World Cup in 2022, while he was also a part of their Copa America victories in 2021 and 2024. He featured in all but four of Atletico's La Liga matches last season, as they secured a third-place finish. He also played in each of his side's Club World Cup matches this summer prior to their group-stage exit. De Paul has recorded 14 goals and 26 assists in 187 appearances for Simeone's side, setting up 10 goals in 53 matches during the 2024-25 campaign. Ahead of the World Cup in 2022, De Paul said he is close friends with Messi, and the manner in which he plays for Argentina often complements the Miami forward. Speaking about his playing relationship with Messi, De Paul said in 2022 his aim is to 'make him run less' and give him 'more space to play with.' Simeone praised De Paul after he played a key role in Atletico winning eight consecutive La Liga matches from November to January during the 2024-25 season. 'He's an established footballer, a world champion,' he said. He's very important for us, with a lot of personality, and we hope he continues this way. Kaleb Johnson will be the first RB in a long time to get a second contract w/ the #Steelers. He's going to be a good one. Kaleb Johnson was a star last season for the Iowa football team. After a good freshman season with the Hawkeyes, Johnson saw his playing time dip as a sophomore, receiving only 117 carries in 2023 compared to 151 in 2022. He entered his junior season with a lot to prove, especially after a suspension kept him out of the first half of the season opener. What happened next was something no one expected. Johnson exploded in 2024, getting 240 carries and rushing for 1,537 yards and a school record 21 touchdowns while averaging 6.4 yards per carry. He was named an All-American for his efforts and was generally regarded as the second-best running back in the entire nation behind Boise State's Ashton Jeanty. That season catapulted him into NFL Draft discussions, and he was eventually taken by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 2025 draft.
