According to a statement issued by the office of Senior Superintendent of Police on Monday, acting on a child missing complaint, the police started searching for the boy and found him in a camp.
Sadar Circle Officer Devwrat Bajpai told PTI, 'After they were reunited, both the child and the father were moved to tears with joy.' Babloo Kumar said he had taken Sheersh with him on Kanwar Yatra for the first time ever this year. Two days ago, they went to Haridwar to collect holy water from river Ganga. While they were returning on foot on the highway along with other kanwariyas, his son went missing.
He filed a complaint with the Uttar Pradesh Police, who eventually found Sheersh at a pilgrim's camp and returned his son to him.

The allegations, which became known to public 14 January, claim that the incident occurred 3 July 2023 at the Himachal Tourism Corporation's Ros Common Hotel in Kasauli. The complainant, a Delhi resident, alleged she was visiting Kasauli as a tourist with her friend and employer Amit Bindal when she met Badoli and Mittal. According to her complaint, the accused coerced her into consuming alcohol, gangraped her in the presence of her friend, and recorded compromising photos and videos. She further claimed the duo threatened to kill her if she reported the incident and later attempted to implicate her in a false case in Panchkula to silence her. The Kasauli police investigated the case for over two months but found no corroborating evidence. According to the Kasauli police, the complainant refused a medical examination and the 17-month delay in filing the FIR hindered the collection of critical evidence such as CCTV footage, alcohol glasses or bedsheets. Consequently, on 4 February this year, the police filed a closure report, which the Kasauli judicial magistrate's court accepted on 12 March after the complainant failed to appear despite summonses issued to two addresses. Complicating the matter, Rocky Mittal filed an extortion case against the woman 6 February 2025 at Panchkula's Sector 5 police station. The FIR, lodged under Sections 308(2) (extortion), 308(5) (extortion by fear of death or grievous hurt), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 61 (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), also named Amit Bindal, another woman, and an unidentified person. Mittal alleged the complainant demanded Rs 50 lakh and political favours to settle false the rape case. He cited WhatsApp calls 21 and 22 January this year, and earlier threats between 1 and 18 September 1 last year. He claimed the rape allegations were part of a 'honey-trap' plan using audio and visual evidence. He accused the complainant of using AI-generated videos to blackmail him and Badoli. The woman, who was granted anticipatory bail 12 March by a Panchkula court, alleged the extortion case was filed to pressure her into withdrawing the rape case. She claimed the fear of arrest prevented her from attending the Kasauli court hearings 6 and 12 March this year. The complainant, represented by her advocate Rajeev Negi, challenged the Kasauli court's order on the police closure report in the Solan sessions court by way of a revision petition. Her advocate argued the extortion case was a retaliatory move by the accused to discredit her. Oppn. comes out in support of U.P. teacher booked by police over verse on Kanwar Yatra
Opposition leaders in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday came out in support of a teacher from Bareilly, who was booked under Section 353 (2) (making statements containing false information, rumour or alarming news) of the BNS for his poem, parts of which referred to the Kanwar Yatra. The FIR against Rajneesh Gangwar, a teacher at Bareilly's MGM Inter College, was registered on July 13, based on a complaint by an outfit named Kanwar Seva Samiti. The video of Mr. Gangwar reciting the poem, which recently went viral on social media, contains a portion where he says, 'Kanwar leke mat jana, tum gyan ka deep jalana, manavta ke seva karke tum sachche manav ban jaana [Don't get pots of holy water from the Ganga, light the lamp of knowledge, become a true human by serving humanity].' Sharing the video of Mr. Gangwar reciting the poem, former U.P. Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said in a post on X in Hindi, 'The greatest religion is that which leads us on the path of humanity.' Attacking the ruling BJP, Congress leader Anil Yadav said that while the Constitution promotes scientific thinking, humanism, and the spirit of inquiry among citizens, which Mr. Gangwar was trying to promote through his verse, elements in the State government aim to encourage 'superstition and irrationality and suppress voices'. 8 killed, 5 injured as jeep falls into gorge in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh; PM Modi announces ₹2 lakh ex-gratia
Pithoragarh, Jul 15 (PTI)- Eight people were killed and five injured when a jeep fell into a deep gorge here on Tuesday, police said. The incident occurred in Suni village in the Thal area while the passengers were travelling to Bokta village, they said. Expressing grief over the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced ₹ 2 lakh ex gratia for the deceased and ₹ 50,000 for injured individuals. In a post on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister's Office stated, 'Saddened by the loss of lives due to a road accident in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the mishap. May the injured recover soon. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.' The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plunge into a deep gorge. Eight people, including five women and three men, died on the spot, Thal SHO Shankar Singh Rawat said. He added that upon receiving information about the accident, police and a State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team reached the site and began rescue operations with the help of local residents. The injured were rushed to a hospital in Muwani, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
