Jennifer Lopez Shares Photos of Severe Facial Injury From AMAs Rehearsals
The 'Love Don't Cost a Thing' singer took to her Instagram Stories in the late hours of Tuesday, May 13, to share photos taken one week prior that captured the extent of the incident.
Sharing a snap of herself holding an ice pack to her right eye, Lopez, 55, wrote, 'So this happened…' before posting a second image that revealed a swollen nose and cut that ran across it. Her right eye also appeared to be bruised, with Lopez captioning the photo, '(During @amas rehearsals).'
The second image also showed redness under Lopez's right eye and over her right cheek.
Jennifer Lopez's Ageless Moments Through the Years
A third Story confirmed that the musician required stitches to aid her recovery, with Lopez sharing a photo of herself with a Beverly Hills-based facial plastic surgeon and captioning it, 'Thank you for stitching me up Dr. Diamond. A week later and a whole lotta ice, I'm good as new.'
In the final photo, Lopez is smiling at the camera without a single flaw in sight, seemingly on the mend and putting the incident behind her as she focuses on her hosting role at the 2025 AMAs, set to be broadcast from Las Vegas on Memorial Day.
This is not Lopez's first AMAs-related health incident. In 2009, she suffered bruising following a fall while performing at the event. Addressing the fall on the Ellen Show later, she told host Ellen Degeneres that she was "messed up" from the accident and suffered a "bruised bone." While she didn't specify which bone she injured, Lopez explained how the mishap went down.
'One of the dancer's backs was slippery from sweat and lights and everything," Lopez recalled of her bare-chested crew at the time. 'We never bargained for that, because they always had t-shirts on in rehearsal. So they were barebacked, didn't have shirts on for the performance and when I stepped on their backs my feet got wet. So when I landed it just slipped from under me.'
In addition to fulfilling her second-time hosting duties, Lopez is scheduled to perform at this year's May 26 event. According to Billboard, Lopez is only the fourth music artist in history to host the AMAs twice, following Lionel Richie, Diana Ross and Pitbull.
Prior to her new injury Stories, Lopez had kept a continuing stream of AMAs promotional videos flowing via the social media platform. On April 23, after news of her hosting gig went public, Lopez shared a promotional image via her Instagram grid, captioning the teaser post, 'Waiting for AMAs night ✨💚.'

YAHOO POLL: Has Fantastic Four revived the MCU for you?
The Fantastic Four: The First Steps had its world premiere on Monday (21 July) night and the first reactions to the film were generally positive. The film was under immense pressure and expectations, no doubt due to its troubled cinematic history. Its first iteration under 20th Century Fox in 2005 was a flop. A reboot in 2015, also under 20th Century Fox, reimagined Marvel's First Family as a dark, gritty comic book film but it didn't fare better either. However, Marvel can finally breathe a sigh of relief as, despite a steep drop at the box office in its second weekend, the film is sitting well with critics. If anything, the fact that it retained the top position in the second weekend is a testament to the strength of the film. Fantastic Four has garnered an 86 per cent rating with critics and a 92 per cent rating with audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. If it matters, Fantastic Four scored higher than James Gunn's Superman – which was released earlier in July. So, we want to hear from you – Has Fantastic Four revived the MCU for you? New entertainment venue in West Sacramento set to open at former Safeway location
A brand-new entertainment venue in West Sacramento is set to open next week. The Boulevard will feature an arcade, bowling alley and restaurant. The 37,000 square foot venue is on West Capitol Avenue and will be in what used to be a Safeway that closed in 2018. "West Sacramento is growing, and we're super happy to be a part of everything that is happening for West Sacramento," said Tami Thompson, the director of marketing. The entertainment venue has something for families and the 21-and-up crowd. "We have a lot of immersive gaming, we have over 65 of the latest state-of-the-art arcade games," Thompson said. The venue offers spark bowling, a tech-twist on the classic game with light-up lanes that follow the ball as it moves towards the pins. There's also a restaurant and bar, laser tag and billiards. But it may be the 30 televisions and 17-foot "wow" wall that puts the new business on the watch list for sports fans with Major League Baseball a few blocks away. "You can come watch the A's game, come after the game, we're trying to be a regional attraction for the greater Sacramento area," Thompson said. Thompson said the location, just off Interstate 80 and near Sutter Health Park, sets the Boulevard apart from other area attractions. "Maybe visitors who aren't from West Sacramento can come up here and reach us in a reasonable amount of time," Thompson said. With dozens of new jobs created for the city, the final step, opening day, is a week from Friday. There's a VIP event on Wednesday. A paid ticket gets you in first and all the proceeds go to three local charities: Loaves and Fishes, Habitat for Humanity and the Yolo County Children's Alliance.

Tom Holland's new Spider-Man suit has been partially revealed ahead of Brand New Day, and the first look is giving us Sam Raimi vibes
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Spider-Man's new suit in Brand New Day has been teased in a new promo, and it appears Tom Holland's Spidey might have been taking some design tips from Tobey Maguire's webhead during the events of No Way Home... As you can see below, Sony has offered the briefest of glimpses at the new Spider-Man suit. While it's deliberately obscured and vague, there's plenty to get attached to, not least of all the shiny red colorway and the raised webbing, one that instantly calls to mind Sam Raimi's 2000s trilogy of Spider-Man films. Tom Holland will seemingly don that suit in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, and Jon Bernthal. It's not yet known, though, if he will keep the pitch-perfect costume that was shown during the No Way Home ending. The first look at the suit may have come from an official source but, on the more unofficial end of the spectrum, a recent series of set photos may have confirmed that Mister Negative will be prowling the streets of New York as Brand New Day's Big Bad. The villain made his name as the foil for Spidey in Insomniac's series of PlayStation titles. Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits cinemas on July 31, 2026 as part of Marvel Phase 6.
