Gabby Logan recalls crushing low point after brutal Strictly Come Dancing exit

Gabby Logan has cast her mind back to her experiences on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing - and admits she was left fearing the nation hated her as she failed to secure votes Gabby Logan has candidly reflected on a time she felt she was deeply unpopular. The 52-year-old radio and television presenter is best known for hosting sports programs for the BBC, ITV and Channel 5. ‌ In August this year, she will land arguably her biggest job to date - as a new host of Match of the Day following the exit of controversial footballer Gary Lineker. But it is not just giving her two pence about on-pitch action that has drawn attention to Gabs. ‌ She has also enjoyed a foray into the world of competitive reality shows - popping up to present shows like the diving competition Splash! and celebrity sheep herding show Flockstars. Back in 2007, however, Gabby stepped out from behind her presenting lectern to be a contestants on hit show Strictly Come Dancing. ‌ The star was partnered with professional dancer James Jordan and, being season five of the long-running show, this was the time when Tess Daly and the late Sir Bruce Forsyth were hosts of the show. The judging panel consisted of Arlene Phillips, Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and the late Len Goodman. While Gabby made it through three rounds of the show before she was voted off, she is convinced that she became a hate figure during her time on the ballroom floor. She featured on the series at the same time as her husband, Kenny Logan - was also competing with Gabby's dance partner James' wife Ola Jordan. ‌ Wales Online quotes Gabby saying: "I had an amazing experience on Strictly, I was only on it for a few weeks, but I had an amazing experience — but also, a kind of life-changing experience in many ways." She elaborated: "[It] sounds a bit dramatic, and you hear people going 'Strictly changed my life', but this wasn't in a good way." Giving more clarity, she went on: "When you get voted out of Strictly, it's so shocking, because you go in every week starting to work on your following week's dance, and you don't expect to go home." ‌ And she revealed she was left being "very much aware that people didn't like" her during her time on the show. She also told Jessica Ennis on the Gold Minds podcast: "It was the fact that obviously people didn't vote for me — and it sounds a bit pathetic — but you realise when it's a reality show that it's about whether people like you. And I was very much aware that people didn't like me. ‌ "I was kind of like, they didn't like me enough to vote for me... It was a very sobering kind of experience because in the days afterwards, not only was I dreadfully missing the dancing, but also realising I kind of felt like, 'Oh, what was it about me that people didn't relate to?'" While Gabby and James crashed out in week four, her rugby star husband managed to make it through five more weeks before he too was voted off. Their season was awash with big name star - with Sir Rod Stewart's wife, Penny Lancaster, acting legend Stephanie Beacham, and model bombshell Kelly Brook were among those taking to the dance floor. The finalists that season included EastEnders star Matt Di Angelo and TV presenter Gethin Jones. While Mis-Teeq singer Alesha Dixon proved to be the victor of the show - and later became a judge on the series before being poached to judge on Britain's Got Talent.

Love Island fans praise Conor as he delivers stern warning to Harry after his actions are exposed at the Grafties

LOVE Island fans have praised Conor Phillips as he delivered a stern warning to Harry Cooksley. The Grafties award ceremony completely changed the dynamic in the ITV2 villa as relationships came crumbling down. 8 8 8 In recent weeks on Love Island, Helena Ford became exclusive with the professional footballer. After this, Shakira Khan ended her partnership with Conor as she claimed that she had 'suppressed emotions' about her former partnership with Harry. Later, Harry pulled Shakira for a chat where he flirted with her and suggested that it would "be a good idea" for the duo to meet up after the show. Later, this clip was shown to all the islanders on the big screen leaving Helena fuming and the rest of the islanders in shock at his behaviour. "I trust someone, and there's a level of respect there. And, like, the level of respect isn't there. "Because for me, what is the crack like? What's the story like? Is it just sort of a thing where you want what you can't have? "Why are you doing this? Because you're prodding her [Shakira], because she's trying to get over [you] and she's trying to move on, but flirting with her and stuff is still prodding her. "And so what is like? What is that for? I'm so close to Shakira, [I can see] how actually hurt she is, her experience in here is nearly ruined. "Then obviously having a situation, like her experiences here is nearly going to be ruined if she doesn't get over this." He added: "And for what reason like just, that's what I'm trying to know." Love Island star Harry makes very honest confession to Shakira as they chat after explosive Grafties and Helena split Harry then said that hearing what Shakira had to say in their conversation on the steps inside the villa "changed things for him". But Conor warned Harry to properly think about the connection he does share with Helena before he makes a rash decision. "Just before you do anything with Helena, just think about honestly what you do want, because I don't know if Shakira will [get back with you]," he continued. "I'm only trying to say that as a friend, it's just that f******, you might end up with nobody. Love Island 2025 full lineup Harry Cooksley: A 30-year-old footballer with charm to spare. Man, that's like, you know, that's how you feel. "No one can blame you for how you feel, but you just need to communicate it man. "You know what I mean? Rather than coasting along and then people getting blindsided." In his beach hut confessional, Conor couldn't help but dissect the situation further. "I don't feel bad for Harry unfortunately. You're [a] 30 year old man, I think you should maybe know a bit better than to play around with people's emotions like that." Droves of fans took to social media to praise Conor for his stern words after watching scenes. Writing on Instagram, one wrote: "Connor stood on business with this statement." A second quoted: "Connor 'I don't feel sorry for Harry … he shouldn't play with people's emotions … he's a 30 year old man," followed by three clapping hand applause emojis. "One thing about Conor is he's gonna tell the truth," stated a third fan. As a fourth said: "Liked how Conor really asked the right questions and showed that's not fine how he acted." Adding: "He also kept it to himself what Harry said until Helena sorted her relationship with him. Respect 8 8 8 8 8

Louise Redknapp wishes son Charlie a happy 21st birthday as she shares sweet tribute to 'charming young man and partner in crime'

Louise Redknapp has wished her son Charlie a happy 21st birthday as she shared a sweet tribute. The singer, 50, shares two children, Charlie and Beau, 16, with ex footballer Jamie Redknapp, who she split from in 2017 after 19 years of marriage. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Louise shared an array of snaps of herself and Charlie over the years - from baby snaps to recent pictures. 'How did this happen?!' Louise wrote. 'My baby is 21 years old today!!! 'Chaz I am so proud of you and the charming young man you have become, you've been my partner in crime and shadow since day one and nothing makes me happier than seeing you living your best life. 'You have an incredible future ahead of you keep on working hard and absolutely smashing it. I would however like to request that you now at the age of 21 learn how to wash up, turn the lights off and pick your clothes up off the bedroom floor… but maybe we'll get there for next year. 'Happy Birthday Charley, Have the most amazing day! We love you so much. Love Mum Xxx.' Earlier this year, Louise revealed why she was painted as the 'villain' following her split from ex-husband Jamie. In an interview, Louise opened up about being accused of walking out on her family and how everyone had an 'opinion'. She told the Independent: 'I was the villain. I'd been lucky in my career because for many years I didn't really have a lot of scrutiny. Then bang, everybody's got an opinion.' 'Anything someone could perceive as negative, I cut out. Nothing I said was right. To defend myself was wrong. To not defend myself was wrong. 'I felt like I was walking up a one-way street with just nowhere to go on it.' Louise also discussed her divorce from Jamie on the Happy Place podcast and credited her two sons for keeping her going during the breakup. She said: 'If I didn't have my kids, I think I would've just given up. I think I just knew that my kids were my everything and they needed me.' The singer admitted that the public scrutiny of her marriage breakdown made the situation even harder to deal with. She added: 'But I can honestly say, when you're going through something so personal in your own turmoil in your own way, but then to get the barrage of judgment and nastiness. 'I never realised people could be so unkind and say such terrible things. I blew my mind.' 'I was going through a lot as it was, I was trying to be strong for my kids, whatever had gone on in our life was private - which I do believe that you're entitled to no matter what. 'And God, I was such a villain, and I was breaking like I was absolutely breaking. 'Beyond what I thought it was possible for a human to break and all along I'm still trying to be a mum. 'And it was just like every time I went out, and I was trying to put a brave face on and do things, like that was wrong if I didn't."
