HOOD Launches Tokenized Stocks in EU: Betting on Digital Asset Boom?
European investors will have access to more than 200 U.S. stocks and ETF tokens. With tokenized stocks, the company's European app has been transitioned from being a crypto-only app to an all-in-one investment app powered by crypto. Further, HOOD launched Crypto Staking for eligible U.S. investors, beginning with Ethereum and Solana.
This aligns with Robinhood's strategy to grow in the cryptocurrency space through increased tokenization, enhanced capabilities and expansion into the EU markets. In sync with this, last month, the company acquired Bitstamp, a global cryptocurrency exchange. In May 2025, HOOD agreed to acquire WonderFi, a Canadian leader in digital asset products and services.
Further, the company is actively pursuing Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) licenses, which will enable it to offer crypto services across the European Economic Area, expanding its reach to 27 countries. Currently, Robinhood supports several major cryptocurrencies — Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Solana and Toncoin.
In May 2025, HOOD's crypto Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs) rose 66.7% from the prior year quarter to 0.5 million. This reflects the fact that the company has been capitalizing on rising crypto demand. This will likely drive the company's top line and improve efficiency while deepening its market share.
Crypto Ventures by Robinhood's Peers
Robinhood isn't alone in chasing the growing demand for crypto exposure. Charles Schwab SCHW and Interactive Brokers IBKR have been making strategic moves to enter the digital assets space.
In May, Rick Wurster, CEO of Schwab, told Reuters that regulatory signals appear increasingly supportive, paving the way for larger financial institutions to scale their crypto offerings.
In April, Schwab announced plans to roll out spot cryptocurrency trading within the next year. Schwab already offers access to spot Bitcoin ETFs, which began trading in 2024, signaling its intent to build a more comprehensive crypto trading platform for its clients.
Similarly, in April, Interactive Brokers added new cryptocurrency tokens to its trading platform, including Chainlink, Avalanche and Sui. In 2024, Interactive Brokers introduced crypto trading in the U.K.

Everything Blockchain Inc. Eyes Historic First: Tokenizing OTC Stock After Robinhood's Market-Defining Shift
Jacksonville, July 02, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Everything Blockchain Inc. (OTC: EBZT), a public company focused on owning and staking the world's fastest-growing crypto networks, announced today that it is actively preparing to tokenize its stock upon completion of its pending capital raise scheduled for early-to-mid July. This groundbreaking move would position EBZT as the first U.S. OTC-listed company to bring its equity fully on-chain, following in the footsteps of major industry players like Robinhood Markets, Superstate, and xStockFi. Market Validation from Industry Giants On June 30th, Robinhood unveiled its own stock tokenization rollout at its inaugural crypto keynote in France, enabling European investors to trade tokenized versions of major U.S. equities such as Apple and NVIDIA, 24/7, via blockchain rails. EBZT's proposed strategy aligns with this broader market evolution and builds upon it with a historic first for OTC markets. "We see tokenization as not just a technology upgrade, but as a core shift in how public companies interact with shareholders, access capital, and create transparency," said Steven Maik, CTO of Everything Blockchain. "Robinhood's move validates what we've been planning for months," added Arthur Rozenberg, CEO of Everything Blockchain. "As the first OTC company to take this step, we're pioneering a new frontier for retail investors and opening entirely new possibilities for how public companies can operate on blockchain infrastructure." Industry Momentum Confirms Historic Opportunity EBZT is evaluating strategic opportunities within the tokenization ecosystem and intends to explore potential collaboration frameworks with leading platforms including Superstate and xStockFi as it develops its on-chain infrastructure. Massive Market Projections $24 Trillion Market: HSBC forecasts tokenized assets could reach 10% of global GDP by 2027 $3.3 Trillion Crypto Market: Current cryptocurrency market capitalization continues growing Retail Demand: Infrastructure requirements accelerating as retail investors seek 24/7 access EBZT's plan to become the first OTC company to tokenize its equity while building a public blockchain treasury positions the company at the center of this global financial transformation. Backed by Strategic Crypto Treasury Plan Tokenization is just one part of EBZT's board-approved strategy. The company also plans to build a diversified crypto treasury, focused on owning and staking five of the fastest-growing blockchain networks: Solana (SOL) – high-speed DeFi and NFT platform XRP (Ripple) – global payments and settlement Hyperliquid (HYPE) – emerging decentralized exchange Bittensor (TAO) – decentralized AI protocol Sui (SUI) – next-gen smart contract platform The goal is to build a blockchain-native treasury that generates income from validator rewards and protocol incentives. Execution will begin once funding is secured. Historic Market Leadership As traditional financial markets increasingly embrace blockchain technology, EBZT's dual strategy of being the first OTC tokenization and crypto treasury development creates unprecedented value drivers: Historic First-Mover Advantage Pioneer Status: The first OTC company to fully tokenize equity Uncharted Territory: Opening entirely new market category for retail investors Market Leadership: Setting the standard for OTC blockchain integration Strategic Value Drivers Diversified Exposure: Direct ownership of leading blockchain networks focused on Solana's ecosystem Operational Innovation: Enhanced shareholder experience through cutting-edge technology Market Validation: Strategy aligned with major institutional players but first in OTC space Retail Investor Benefits Access to Innovation: First opportunity to own tokenized OTC equity Crypto Exposure: Diversified blockchain treasury provides crypto market exposure through Solana-focused strategy 24/7 Flexibility: Trade on your schedule, not market hours The convergence of these trends positions EBZT to capture massive value from the broader transformation of global financial infrastructure while giving retail investors unprecedented access to both tokenized equity and crypto treasury exposure powered by Solana's high-performance blockchain. Ukraine looks to jointly produce weapons with allies, while US halts some shipments
KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine is forging ahead with embryonic plans for joint weapons production with some of its international allies, top officials said, while the U.S. announced it was halting some arms shipments promised to help Ukraine fight off Russia. Those plans come at what appears to be a key point in the all-out war launched by Moscow nearly 3 1/2 years ago. A renewed Russian push to capture more Ukrainian land has put Ukraine's short-handed defenses under severe strain, and Russian missiles and drones are battering Ukrainian cities. U.S.-led diplomatic efforts to find a peace settlement, meanwhile, have stalled. As Washington has distanced itself under U.S. President Donald Trump from Ukraine's war efforts, a bigger onus has fallen on European countries to pressure Russia. French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday held their first direct telephone call in almost three years. Macron's office said that during their two-hour conversation, the French leader underlined France's 'unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity' and called for a ceasefire. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that officials are preparing with a sense of urgency for upcoming meetings with European Union countries and other partners to talk about cooperation in weapons manufacturing. 'One of the key topics will be weapons production – our joint investments, joint projects,' Zelenskyy said in his daily address on Tuesday evening. Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced that draft legislation on joint weapons production with international allies is expected to be put to a vote in the Ukrainian parliament later this month. The proposed laws were shown to national defense companies on Tuesday, Umerov said. The program includes plans to create a special legal and tax framework to help Ukrainian defense manufacturers scale up and modernize production, including building new facilities at home and abroad, according to Umerov. Earlier this week, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said during a visit to Kyiv that Germany aims to help Ukraine manufacture more weapons more quickly. He was accompanied on the trip by German defense industry representatives. The U.S. is halting some weapons deliveries to Ukraine out of concern that its own stockpiles have declined too far, officials said Tuesday. Certain munitions were longer-term commitments promised to Ukraine under the Biden administration, though the Defense Department didn't provide details on what specific weapons were being held back. Ukraine's Foreign Ministry summoned the U.S. chargé d'affaires, John Hinkel, on Wednesday to discuss ongoing defense cooperation. Deputy Foreign Minister Maryana Betsa thanked the U.S. for its continued support, but emphasized the 'critical importance' of maintaining previously allocated defense packages, especially for bolstering Ukraine's air defense. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Pentagon's decision will help bring a settlement closer, because 'the fewer weapons supplied to Ukraine, the closer the end of the (war) is.' The United States has been Ukraine's biggest military backer since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of its neighbor on Feb. 24, 2022. Under Trump, there have been no new announcements of U.S. military or weapons aid to Ukraine. Between March and April, the United States allocated no new aid to Ukraine, according to Germany's Kiel Institute, which tracks such support. For the first time since June 2022, European countries surpassed the U.S. in total military aid, totaling 72 billion euros ($85 billion) compared with 65 billion euros ($77 billion) from the U.S., the institute said last month. Monday Mornings The latest local business news and a lookahead to the coming week. Washington's latest decision could remove some of the most formidable weapons in Ukraine's battlefield arsenal. Analysts say Ukraine's European allies can fill some of the gaps and provide artillery systems. But they don't possess alternatives to the U.S.-made HIMARS missiles and air defense systems, especially Patriots, which are crucial to help defend Ukrainian cities from Russian air attacks. It's not clear how much weaponry Ukraine possesses or what its most urgent needs are. ___ Follow AP's coverage of the war in Ukraine at

Should You Buy Plug Power Stock While It's Below $3?
Plug Power (NASDAQ: PLUG), a leading developer of hydrogen charging technologies, has been a disappointing investment over the past year. After reaching a 52-week high of $3.34 per share on July 16, 2024, it declined nearly 60% to its current price of about $1.50. Should you buy Plug's stock after that pullback, or will it sink even lower? Where to invest $1,000 right now? Our analyst team just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks to buy right now. Continue » What does Plug Power do? When Plug Power went public in 1999, it planned to develop hydrogen fuel charging systems for homes. But high production costs, soft consumer demand, the difficulty of building new hydrogen charging infrastructure, and high regulatory hurdles shattered that dream. Plug Power subsequently pivoted toward the development of hydrogen fuel cells and charging systems for warehouse forklifts and backup power systems. Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) and Walmart (NYSE: WMT), which both recognized the cost-cutting potential of those systems, became Plug's two biggest customers and investors (through their stock warrants). Plug Power also expanded its smaller cryogenic equipment business with two acquisitions over the past three years. It's now the single largest buyer of liquid hydrogen, and it has already deployed more than 70,000 fuel cell systems and over 250 fueling stations across the world. Therefore, Plug Power is well-positioned to profit from the potential growth of the hydrogen charging market. But 26 years after its public debut, hydrogen charging hasn't gone mainstream. The same challenges that prevented Plug's residential business from taking off are still holding back the nascent market. What happened to Plug Power over the past few years? In 2020, Plug Power's revenue turned negative as the usage of its own stock warrants to subsidize its fuel cell sales to Amazon and Walmart surpassed its own customer payments. But after restating its financials, its revenue turned positive again in 2021 and rose through 2023. Metric 2021 2022 2023 2024 Revenue $502 million $701 million $891 million $629 million Growth (Loss) N/A* 40% 27% (29%) Operating Margin (87%) (97%) (151%) (321%) Net Income (Loss) ($460 million) ($724 million) ($1.37 billion) ($2.10 billion) Data source: Plug Power. *Figure is not applicable due to financial restatements. However, most of Plug Power's growth in 2022 and 2023 was driven by its aforementioned acquisitions instead of the organic growth of its fuel cell and charging systems business -- which struggled as the macro headwinds drove businesses to rein in their spending on big hydrogen projects. In 2024, Plug's slowdown intensified as it lapped its acquisitions. Its operating expenses also surged, and its losses widened at an alarming rate. But in 2025, analysts expect its revenue to rise 17% to $734 million as it posts a net profit of $233 million. In 2025, they expect its revenue to increase 39% to $1.02 billion as its net income more than doubles to $478 million. With a market cap of $1.3 billion, it looks dirt cheap at 1.3 times next year's sales. However, its growth will only accelerate if a few catalysts kick in. What catalysts will drive Plug Power's recovery? First, declining interest rates should drive more businesses to resume their hydrogen plans. That growth should be supported by the production of green hydrogen at its new plant in Georgia, as well as a new joint venture with chemical manufacturing company Olin (NYSE: OLN) in Louisiana to scale its production volume and dilute its unit costs. The company also secured a $1.66 billion loan guarantee from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) this January to fund its construction of six green hydrogen manufacturing plants, and the Senate's latest revision of the Trump administration's proposed tax bill will grant a two-year extension for tax credits for the hydrogen industry. That support should keep Plug Power solvent as it aggressively scales up its business. To boost its profitability, Plug Power is implementing an aggressive cost-cutting plan dubbed "Project Quantum Leap" to reduce its annual expenditures by $150 million-$200 million through workforce reductions, lower discretionary spending, and other capital efficiency initiatives. Should you buy Plug Power's stock while it's below $3? Plug Power's future looks a lot brighter than it did a year ago. That's probably why insiders bought nearly 12 times as many shares as they sold over the past 12 months. They also bought about 11 times as many shares as they sold over the past three months. However, investors should note that Plug Power more than tripled its number of shares over the past five years with its secondary offerings and stock-based compensation. That dilution should persist for the foreseeable future, and it could be exacerbated by Amazon and Walmart exercising their stock warrants (which would force Plug to issue more shares). But despite that dilution, Plug Power might be an attractive play at these levels if you expect the hydrogen market to finally turn mainstream. It disappointed a lot of investors over the past 26 years, but its long-term tailwinds are finally picking up -- and it might generate big multibagger gains over the next decade as the hydrogen market expands.
