Katara opens 'Windows Into Gaza' exhibition to shed light on lives of Palestinians in Gaza Strip
The exhibition, which was inaugurated by Director-General of Katara Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, features 31 photographs representing a selection of scenes from the daily lives of the people of Gaza, embodying a visual and literary dialogue between text and image.
The exhibition's opening coincides with the publication of 'The Sufferings of Gaza... Very Short Stories' by Qatari author Dr Ahmed Abdul Malik, who drew inspiration from his book, that inspired the texts on display, as part of a creative project.
In this context, Dr Ahmed Abdul Malik said that the exhibition represents a cultural contribution aimed at raising awareness and documenting human memory through art. He relied on the very short story for his book, as it is a literary tool capable of conveying meaning in the fewest possible words, yet retaining its full emotional and symbolic impact. This is also exemplified in the images on display, which stand side by side with the text to construct a comprehensive picture of reality.
He noted Katara's hosting of the exhibition as part of its pioneering role in empowering culture to be a voice for humanity and a means of rapprochement between peoples.
The 'Windows Into Gaza' exhibition, which runs until June 10, is a space for contemplation and a mirror that reflects the latent power of culture when it becomes a tool for documenting and conveying the collective conscience. It also represents a call to engage with the Palestinian cause from a cultural and human perspective.

MoECC hosts series of recycling workshops at QCF's summer camp

Qatar celebrates graduation of 156 students in UK, Ireland
QNA London The Cultural Attaché of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom organised a graduation ceremony for 156 Qatari students studying in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland for the 2024/2025 academic year. The event, which was attended by a large number of outstanding students and their parents, was organised as part of the Cultural Attaché's commitment to supporting scholarship students and strengthening academic and cultural relations between the State of Qatar and leading higher education institutions in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The ceremony was attended by a number of representatives of the diplomatic corps at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in London, along with cultural attaches from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This reflects the importance of strengthening educational and cultural ties and consolidating academic cooperation between the State of Qatar and fraternal and friendly countries. 49 Qatari aid trucks on way to Gaza Strip
QNA El Arish/Amman As part of the State of Qatar's ongoing humanitarian support for the brotherly Palestinian people, 49 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid arrived in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The aid was provided by the State of Qatar through the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), in cooperation with Qatar Charity and the Qatar Red Crescent Society. It will be delivered to the World Food Programme (WFP) for distribution to those in need in the Gaza Strip via the Rafah and Zikim crossings. The aid included 4,704 food parcels for 4,704 families and more than 28,224 beneficiaries, 200 tons of food baskets targeting approximately 50,000 beneficiaries, 174 tonnes of flour for 43,000 beneficiaries, and 5,000 units of baby formula for the most vulnerable children. This aid comes amid the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip resulting from the ongoing blockade. It embodies Qatar's unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and its commitment to alleviating their deepening suffering and providing urgent relief to the most affected groups.
