New Delhi:
Amitabh Bachchan has always been one of the most active celebrities on social media, discussing life and films at large. The actor often shares his thoughts and opinions on X. He also has a micro-blogging website, where he consistently shares many details of his life apart from his work that he wishes for his fans to know. He lovingly calls them his "extended family" or EF.
On Monday, Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, "T 5405 - Gadgets break .. Longevity lasts!!!."
However, his late-night musings did not sit well with a troll who tried to take a dig at the actor's age. The user posted, " Samay se so jaaya karo, varna lambi umar bhi nahi tikegi. (Try to sleep on time, otherwise even a long life won't last)."
The 82-year-old actor replied with utmost grace and wit.
He said, " Mere maran ki baat karne ke liye dhanyawad; Ishwar ki kripa. (Thank you for talking about my death; God bless you!)."

Referring to Amitabh Bachchan's 1988 film Shahenshah, a fan tweeted, " Andheri raaton mein Shahenshah kyu jaag rahe ho.. So jayiye ab umar ho gayi aapko. [Why are you still awake, Shahenshah? Go to sleep now, you are old].
To which, the actor replied, " Ek din tumhari bhi umr ho jayegi.. Ishwar ne chaha [One day you too will age too.. God's willing]." However, he deleted the tweet just minutes after posting, reported Times of India.
Last month, Amitabh Bachchan expressed his frustration over constant criticism over his social media posts.
The actor wrote on his blog, "And they tell me to change my signature .. to not put dots in it .. to not put curved lines .. to wear this, to wear that .. to not visit here or there .. to not talk here, to not talk there .. when you talk they say why do you talk .. when you do not talk they say why you do not talk."
He added, "I have learnt how to live life, from the seas and oceans; to flow quietly and to exist in your own ardor your own avidity and zest. The learnings from Babu ji, my revered father .. an eternal gift for my living and learning .. my gratitude and my affection."
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in Vettaiyan alongside Rajinikanth. The actor will next be seen in the Kalki 2898 AD sequel with Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan.

Everyone has given their best, you can't easily finalise who did the best performance. Heart full work from @sri_sriganesh89.' Another couldn't get over how 'sweet and wholesome' the film was, '#3BHK is such a sweet, heartfelt, wholesome little film. You can say whatever but there's no denying how pure the film truly is. Siddharth, Meetha, Sarath & Chaitra are incredible. Stunning debut from Amrit. It will win your hearts. Go watch it in theatres from tomorrow :))' Many viewers seemed to agree that 3 BHK was 'realistic' above everything, '#3BHK : Emtional & very much realistic film! Many Emotional scenes are Relatable. 3BHK is not Just a Film IT's LIFE of Many. Overall Worth Watching.' There are some good feel good moments. And songs and BGM support well. But somewhere it gives a docu feel and gets way too melodramatic. Trailer was good but film is. 2.25/5.' An X user summed it up with, '#3BHK - Structured but with dull paint! Has solid plot with good scene sequences to relate & emotion to click but also suffers from being one note from start to end & gloomy mood in certain episodes turning monotonous... Climax. Sid, Sarath, Meetha. (claps emoji) Music (good emoji) ABOVE AVERAGE.'

Hansal Mehta questions impact of film promotion events: 'Do they make people watch?'

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta criticized repetitive film promotions on X, questioning if they truly engage audiences or just create an illusion of success. He urged for meaningful marketing focused on strong trailers and quality content, rather than formulaic events, amid aggressive campaigns for films like 'Metro… In Dino'. Hansal Mehta , the filmmaker renowned for his straightforward and unfiltered views on Bollywood and life, recently shared his honest opinion about how films and series are promoted on X (previously Twitter ). He criticized the repetitive and predictable marketing tactics, questioning their effectiveness in driving success. Formulaic Nature of Promotional Activities In an extensive post on X, Mehta questioned whether the usual promotional methods truly capture audience interest or simply give the appearance of success. Without naming anyone, he criticized how marketing has become formulaic, with actors repeatedly appearing on the same podcasts, answering identical questions, and making similar appearances in various locations. Questioning the True Value of Popularity Taking to his social media handle, the filmmaker wrote on X, 'Do these generic, template promotions for films and series actually work? Do they make people watch? Do they make the film/series any better? Or do they simply sustain an ecosystem built on illusion—PR agencies, costume designers, event planners, influencers, sponsors, red carpets, press conferences, paid 'reviews', social media fluff. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like They Were So Beautiful Before; Now Look At Them; Number 10 Will Shock You Reportingly Undo It all looks like success. " He continued, 'It feels like popularity. But is it? Shouldn't a good trailer stir curiosity? Shouldn't compelling promo units and—most importantly—a good film or series be enough? Instead, we're stuck watching the same actors answer the same 10 questions on the same podcasts in the same studios, flying from one city to another, chasing a perception." A Call for Meaningful Promotion He concluded his post with a question: 'This isn't a rant—it's a question: What's the best way to promote a story today without becoming part of a machinery that serves neither the art nor the artist?". Context Amidst Aggressive Marketing Campaigns Although Mehta didn't specify any filmmaker or film, his critique comes at a time when movies like 'Metro… In Dino' and others are being promoted with intense and widespread marketing efforts. Hansal Mehta's Acclaimed Filmography Hansal Mehta, known for powerful projects like 'Shahid', 'Faraaz', 'Chhalaang', and the acclaimed series 'Scam 1992', recently released 'The Buckingham Murders' featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan .

‘Amitabh Bachchan was thrown out of the film, replaced by Sanjay Khan': Raza Murad recalls how Zanjeer changed Big B's fortune after 16 flops

Prakash Mehra's Zanjeer (1973), written by Salim-Javed, became a landmark film in Indian cinema. It gave a whole new identity to Amitabh Bachchan, who until then had seen 16 flops and almost lost hopes to make it big as an actor. But, it was his luck that made him who he is today, believes veteran actor Raza Murad. The film launched Amitabh into superstardom, leading to a string of hits like Deewar, Sholay, and Don, among others. In a recent interview with The Filmy Charcha, Raza Murad claimed that one needs 90% luck to make it big in the industry. To prove his point, the actor took the example of actor Amitabh Bachchan, whose life changed overnight with a single film that chose him as its lead star. 'Amitabh Bachchan was thrown out of Duniya Ka Mela. The makers replaced him with Sanjay Khan. 16 of his films flopped. Distributors said nobody will turn up to theatres if he will star in a film. At that time, his luck was not with him. But when the luck was in his favour, everything fell in place.' ALSO READ | Sarzameen trailer: Ibrahim Ali Khan looks not so nadaan in this father vs son patriotic drama He explained, 'When Prakash Mehra wanted to make Zanjeer, he went to Dilip Kumar, Dharmendra, Dev Anand, Rajkumar, and they all refused for some or the other reason. The subject was extremely hero-oriented, yet, these superstars rejected it. Nobody knows why, but one can say that the luck wanted Amitabh Bachchan to lead the film. When nobody wanted him, and Prakash Mehra had no option, Jaya Bachchan (then Jaya Bahaduri) recommended the director he take Amitabh Bachchan and rest is history.' With this anecdote, Raza Murad asserted that 'Luck is very important in this industry.' Zanjeer didn't just become a turning point in the life of Amitabh Bachchan but also writer duo Salim-Javed. Apart from them, the film's character Sher Khan, played by actor Pran became a cult figure with his Pathani attire. Dialogues from the film, such as 'Yeh police station hai, tumhare baap ka ghar nahin' became a part of pop culture. The film redefined Hindi film heroes with many claiming Amitabh Bachchan's Vijay gave voice to the frustrated Indian middle class of that era. It shifted the focus from romantic heroes to gritty-brooding protagonists.
