Amber Davies lets rip at 'selfish' audience member who 'ruined' West End performance
Angry actress Amber Davies launched a furious tirade at a 'selfish' audience member who wrecked her West End show.
The former Love Island star is appearing in The Great Gatsby Musical in London and she had a lengthy rant after someone in the stalls decided to film the production. Amber explained in detail while recording from your seat is such an issue - and it doesn't just irritate those who pay to see the performance.
Amber, who has also played Vivian Ward in the stage show of Pretty Woman, took to Instagram to make her point, and the Welsh star didn't hold back. She told the woman filming to think of others as well as those performing - and says she'll get security to act the next time she sees a person doing it. It comes after Katie Price worried fans with appearance in family photo after explaining her weight loss.
"This is a PSA," she said in a video on the social media platform. "The closer you are to the stage when you're watching a show the more obvious it is when you're filming. This is the entire stalls. If you're filming in the stalls we can see you!
"From someone who's on stage, I just wanna tell you a little bit about what we see. So we see like a dark canvas and outlines of people's heads. If you're filming, the reflection from the lights bounce straight back the back of your iPhone onto us on stage. So it is the one thing we can see.
"So to the woman filming New Money tonight, you distracted absolutely everybody on that stage. And not only that, it takes us out of the Gatsby world because you're filming and you've basically ruined that moment for everybody else who was watching the show tonight."
Amber went on to ask: "Please don't be selfish. Stop filming shows. If someone is filming during a show know that this is the consequences that it has to the people on stage and tell them to stop because honestly it's annoying.
"Also, I single-handedly will count how many seats back you are and tell our stage manager where you're sitting and what colour hair you've got, and trust me, in the interval they will come and ask you to delete the footage so you've basically done it for nothing. Okay, I'm gonna enjoy act two now."
The 29-year-old has since gone on to build an impressive career as a West End actor, landing roles in everything from Bring it On! to Back to the Future. Amber is now using her public platform to raise awareness of drink spiking after she fell victim to it years ago.
She hopes that by sharing her ordeal with others, she can help people recognise the signs of it the criminal offence and protect themselves and their loved ones. The Love Island recalled the terrifying incident during a night out in North Wales in 2018, which she has since called an "out of body experience."
Amber shot to fame in 2017 as the winner of the third series of the ITV dating reality show alongside her then-partner, Kem Cetinay, after the pair delighted viewers with their adorable relationship. However, shortly after reaching huge reality fame, Amber's drink was spiked during a night out which "took a turn for the worst" and she was rushed to A&E.

Gary Lineker has reportedly signed a huge deal with ITV to host a brand new celebrity game show - after leaving the BBC earlier this year following an anti-semitism row. The former Match Of The Day presenter, 64, is thought to be returning to Saturday night TV for a new show called The Box. Touted as a replacement for Ant and Dec 's Saturday Night Takeaway, The Box's format sees 12 celebrities all put in a different box where they have to face a terrifying challenge. Already a show in Norway, The Sun reports it has been dubbed as a cross between I'm A Celebrity and SAS: Who Dares Wins. A source told the publication: 'The Box is massive in Norway, and the rights were quickly sold to Denmark and now the UK. ' ITV are really excited about it - and believe they have finally found a worthy successor to Saturday Night Takeaway. 'They have long been sniffing around Gary and just needed to find the right format for him. They're confident they've found that now, and the BBC 's loss is their gain.' The source added that filming will take place in the autumn and it will air in early spring, likely with a Saturday night slot. Gary and ITV have been contacted by MailOnline for comment. Back in May Gary welled up as he delivered his final Match of the Day speech, thanking viewers for their 'love and support' and sending a message to his successors. The presenter was visibly moved by a seven-minute tribute featuring the likes of Pep Guardiola, Virgil van Dijk, Ian Wright, and even Andrea Bocelli. Lineker hosted his final BBC show and hinted at the start that it 'wasn't meant to end this way' after being axed amid an antisemitism row. He was axed after sharing a pro-Palestine Instagram video which featured an emoji of a rat, with critics accusing him of promoting a familiar anti-Semitic slur. He later apologised. At the end of his last show, wrapping up his £1.4million gig, he paid tribute to the wider team, saying: 'Let me take the opportunity to thank all the other pundits I've had the pleasure of working with over the last 25 years. Stephen Mangan admits: ‘I can be just as ruthless as everybody else'
It's not easy to be ruthless and to throw other people under the bus. At least, that's what one might assume… until there's a £250,000 prize up for grabs. That's the aim of the game in ITV's The Fortune Hotel, which is back for its second series tonight, as 11 pairs – a mixture of friends, colleagues, relatives and partners – battle it out in a game of treachery while basking in the Caribbean sunshine. 'It's a really difficult game, because they really get to know and like each other over the course of the time we're there,' host Stephen Mangan tells Metro. 'It's really difficult to brutally pull the plug on another pair and send them home, but you have to do it.' Stephen, an actor, presenter and comedian, imagined how he'd fare if he took part in the competition – and he had a frank admission to make. I probably wouldn't. I'd probably be just as ruthless as everybody else,' he admits. 'I don't know. I mean, it's hard to know. I wouldn't want to be in that position myself.' He has a positive outlook on the world, explaining that he 'fundamentally' believes that 'most people are trustworthy'. Nonetheless, a show like The Fortune Hotel proves that sometimes, you need to listen to your gut when it's telling you to take a closer look. 'I think why the show is so interesting is because we all spend our lives trying to work out if people are being straight with us, if people are trying to pull the wool over our eyes, if they're trying to pull a fast one,' Stephen says. 'That's one of the challenges of being an adult these days – trying to work out who's on your side, who wishes you well, and who is trying to get one over on you. 'So it's fascinating. We all hope that we can tell if people are lying to us, but some people are really, really good at it.' The launch of The Fortune Hotel series two comes after the series made its debut on ITV last year, with mother-and-son duo Jo-Anne and Will taking home the £210,000 cash prize. This time around, the contestants had the benefit of being able to watch the previous season to try and suss out the game. But, they might not be as prepared as they think. This year, there are 11 pairs of competitors at the start of The Fortune Hotel. Those who make it into the luxurious hotel in the Caribbean are each given a briefcase – one of which contains the coveted £250,000 cash prize. Another briefcase contains an 'early checkout card', which could result in a pair being sent home. All of the others contain blank sheets of paper. At the end of each day, the contestants come together in the hotel bar and have the chance to swap their cases. Their decisions are crucial, as they could cause another pair to suspect that they have the winning or losing case. Whoever ends up with the 'early checkout card' by the end of the night is sent home. They also take part in challenges to try and figure out who has which case as the show progresses. It's a game of logic combined with luck. 'It was exciting the first time around because it was a show that had never been done before. Sometimes these shows are formats that they've tried in other countries and have been a hit, so they know how they work. But we were inventing a brand new game, which is exciting and terrifying at the same time,' the host recalls. 'The first series was exciting to see if it worked. And it did. It worked really well, so much so that we got our second series. Then the interesting thing is, how do you make it better?' So how do you make it better? 'More surprises, more challenges, more epic things happening,' Stephen promises. He adds that some of the competitors coming to the series with a plan based on the previous season 'made it more exciting', as they were more willing to take risks. 'They just went for it. It made those evenings in Lady Luck's Bar so tense, so dramatic, so exciting.' More Trending At this point, it's unknown whether The Fortune Hotel will come back for a third series. But Stephen hopes that by the time audiences finish the second, they'll feel 'bereft' – so much more that they'll demand its return. 'Every episode gets more exciting. Every episode, it's harder to predict what's going to happen,' he states. 'There are surprises from the beginning, first minute till the last.
