Bawankule criticizes Uddhav for opposing Maharashtra Security Bill

for criticising the Maharashtra Special Public Security bill, saying the former CM must keep the interests of the state in mind.
Bawankule said he headed the draft bill committee, which also included opposition leaders, and claimed that it received unanimous support.
The bill has been passed by both houses of the legislature and will now be sent to the governor, after which it will finally become a law.
"Uddhav Ji, please for once think for Maharashtra's benefit. Think of our youth who will benefit from this bill," said Bawankule, while addressing the media in Nagpur on Saturday.
"We put the draft in the public domain and it received support from the public too. Over 12,000 citizens responded to the draft. Generations will be saved because of this law, and the entire Naxal system will collapse. Now, even if after this Uddhav Ji wants to criticise, then God bless him," he added.
The opposition to the bill is 'political', said Bawankule. "In the joint committee for the draft bill, I sat down with senior leaders like leader of opposition in the legislative council Ambadas Danve (Shiv Sena UBT), Congress' Vijay Wadettiwar, Nana Patole, NCP (SP) leader Jayant Patil and discussed things in detail.

He said the bill is not against any political party. "It's against the movement which is taking our youths towards the Naxalite movement. All organisations which propagate such types of ideologies will now be cornered," said Bawankule. "We have seen that such organisations are active in urban areas, in places like universities, and misleading our youth into the Naxalite movement. Everything will now stop due to this bill," he added.

New Delhi: A junior national-level tennis player has moved the Delhi High Court questioning the alleged omission of tennis from the list of games available to seek admission under the sports quota at Hindu College of Delhi University. Justice Vikas Mahajan on Monday sought the stand of the college and DU on the plea filed by Aditi Rawat, challenging the absence of lawn tennis in the sports offered by the college for admission under the sports quota for the upcoming academic year. The plea stated that Rawat is "a distinguished Lawn Tennis athlete and gold medallist at the CBSE Nationals" and challenges "the arbitrary denial of admission" under the Sports Quota (Lawn Tennis) at Hindu College. It contends that the college authorities violated DU's Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Policy 2025-26, which provides for a mandatory 5% supernumerary sports quota in each college. Samik: Not party's job to attend ‘namaz' or ‘hari naam sankirtan'
Kolkata: Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya, who has been making attempts to recalibrate its political narrative in the state, on Tuesday said a party's job was not to attend "namaz" or "hari naam sankirtan (chanting Hari)". Bhattacharya, who emphasised BJP's "inclusive politics", also claimed that Trinamool had fostered divisions in society. "A political party's duty is not to participate in namaz or hari naam sankirtan, but to provide assistance to people for hospitalisation, admission in schools, or better civic amenities. People don't come to political workers to listen to Sundarkanda of Ramayana," Bhattacharya said at a workers' meet in Cooch Behar. Bhattacharya, who has earlier tried to bridge the gap with minority communities and said BJP is not against Muslims, asked party workers to refrain from divisive politics. "A political party's job is not to wedge a divide among people. We want Durga visarjan and Muharram processions to go forward simultaneously. They shouldn't need different routes," he said.
