Shocking moment jealous boyfriend slices off clubber's ear for dancing with his girlfriend on birthday bar crawl
Beau Lyons, 27, flew into a rage on a 'mini bar crawl' with his partner Shaunnia Connolly and their friends while they celebrated a birthday in Newport, South Wales.
A court heard that victim Shane Edwards was left looking 'like something from Star Wars ' after being disfigured in the glass attack.
The group had travelled 150 miles before ending the night at Mojo's club in Newport in March.
While the friends drank and danced at the bar, Lyons flew into a rage at the popular nightclub after he spotted Mr Edwards sitting and talking to his girlfriend.
CCTV footage showed Mr Edwards dancing with Miss Connolly before buying her a drink from the bar.
The shocking footage then showed Lyons launching himself at Mr Edwards after spotting him dancing with his partner.
He picked up a nearby glass and smashed it in to the the victim's face before throwing him in to a table.

Following the shocking assault a bouncer leapt in to action and pulled the jealous boyfriend off the injured Mr Edwards while clubbers at Mojo's watched on in horror.
Prosecutor Nuhu Gobir said Lyons had already argued with Miss Connolly before he glassed unsuspecting Mr Edwards.
Mr Edwards revealed he blacked out during the attack and came around in hospital covered in blood after his ear was almost completely sliced off.
Since the incident the defenceless victim said he feels 'deformed' and is scared to go out.
Mr Gobir said all Mr Edwards remembered was waking up in hospital covered in blood from his chest downwards.
He was taken to Grange University Hospital and was found to have suffered a 5cm wound through his left ear towards the base of the skull.
The glass had cut through all layers of skin tissue and the underlying structures of the ear, exposing cartilage and effectively splitting the ear in two.
Lyons, of Saltney Ferry, Flintshire, admitted he had assaulted Mr Edwards but said he had no recollection of the incident and was sorry.
He pleaded guilty to wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
In a victim personal statement, Mr Edwards said: 'Since the incident I have been crying a lot, I am so upset about the state of my ear. I feel like I am deformed.
'I have had very bad anxiety including nightmares about someone always attacking me. This is happening every night and I don't get a lot of sleep because of it.
'I'm always looking over my shoulder when I am out, and go out with friends all the time, I don't want to be by myself. If it wasn't for one friend in particular I wouldn't be going out at all anywhere.
'Day to day I struggle to cope, I am anxious and paranoid and suffer with depression badly anyway but this incident made it worse.
'My left ear is permanently deformed and strangers have been making comments about it and someone said I looked like something out of Star Wars which has made my confidence way down.
'I have problems with my ear, it was leaking liquid and I kept having to go to hospital to get it redressed and it got infected. Since the incident I've had trouble hearing out of my injured ear which makes it hard to be in conversation.'
Judge Eugene Egan said: 'The lower part of the ear is sliced away. You used a glass as a weapon.
'You well and truly launched yourself at the victim in this case and brought the glass crashing down on the left side of his ear. You were under the influence of alcohol and cocaine was in your system.'
Lyons was sentenced to three years imprisonment.

Wolverhampton music event application withdrawn after police concerns

ITV HAVE axed a hit crime drama with a huge Hollywood actress after just two series. Fans have been left absolutely gutted after the commercial broadcaster has seemingly made yet another huge cut. 6 6 6 Bend It Like Beckham actress Parminder Nagra, 49, led the star-studded cast of DI Ray. The star is also known for roles in huge projects such as NBC 's ER, The Blacklist and Marvel 's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. She played the title role of DI Rachita Ray alongside the likes of Game Of Thrones and Killing Eve star Gemma Whelan. Law & Order: UK actor Jamie Bamber completes the lineup playing DCI Martyn Hunter. However, it's been reported that ITV have axed the series due to ratings that were lower than expected. An ITV spokesperson confirmed to TV Zone: "We're really proud of what DI Ray achieved, but sadly the viewing figures for series two didn't meet with ITV's expectations. Moment thief disguised as Foot Locker worker drags wheelie bin packed with £3,000 of stolen clothes and trainers away
This is the moment a brazen thief posing as a Foot Locker employee hauls a wheelie bin packed with £3,000 worth of stolen trainers after raiding the sportswear store. Reece Wheat, 28, disguised himself in the firm's distinctive black and white striped uniform before he rushed away with thousands of pounds worth of goods. He was aided, by accomplice, Ellis Bishop, 30, who helped him break in and haul away the stolen loot on Clumber Street in Nottingham on May 13, this year. Shocking CCTV cameras caught the shameless duo pushing the stolen items along the street packed in two wheelie bins, which had been nabbed from a nearby bar. The hooded crook was also captured helping Wheat to break in before bundling the stolen items into the wheelie bins waiting outside. Later that day, Wheat was arrested after being spotted near the Footlocker store boldly wearing some of pinched Nike clothing. It was later found that the serial thief had also broken into a bike shed in Station Street, and had also shoplifted £30 worth of washing capsules from Savers. Now Wheat has been jailed for nine months, while Bishop was given a 26-week prison sentence after pleading guilty at Nottingham Magistrates' Court. Detectives found the accomplice was also responsible for three other shop thefts in the city centre on May, 27 June 15 and June 20. Bishop of Nottingham, was charged with burglary and four counts of shop theft, including the theft of the bins. PC Ben King, of Nottinghamshire Police's city centre neighbourhood policing team, said: 'Thousands of pounds worth of stock was stolen during this break-in, before being paraded through the city centre in a pair of wheelie bins. 'Ellis Bishop played a leading role in this brazen burglary by taking the bins from a neighbouring shop and then helping Reece Wheat fill them with stolen trainers and clothes. 'Unlike his accomplice, he didn't leave forensic evidence at the scene, so identifying him was a bit trickier. 'After extensively reviewing the footage available, however, we were able to link him to his offending by the tattoos he had on show and the trainers on his feet. 'Retail crime can have a real impact on businesses and the staff that work there, so we're pleased to have now locked up both the people responsible for this burglary.'
