Mobile Charging Solutions to Support OHEV Adoption and Renewable Energy Integration with OHEV Systems Fueling Opportunities

The Asia-Pacific off-highway electric vehicle market is predicted to expand significantly, rising from $1.83 billion in 2024 to $20.87 billion by 2034, with a CAGR of 27.52%. This growth is driven by the increasing adoption of electric vehicles in mining, construction, and agriculture across China, India, and Southeast Asia. Technological advancements in battery efficiency and charging infrastructure, along with stringent emission regulations and corporate sustainability goals, are major catalysts. However, challenges remain, including high upfront costs and limited rural charging infrastructure. Key players such as Hitachi, Sany Group, and Komatsu are leading the market. Asia-Pacific Off-Highway Electric Vehicle Market Dublin, July 15, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The "Asia-Pacific Off-Highway Electric Vehicle Market: Focus on Application, Propulsion Type, Vehicle Type, and Country-Level Analysis - Analysis and Forecast, 2024-2034" report has been added to Asia-Pacific off-highway electric vehicle market is projected to grow from $1.83 billion in 2024 to $20.87 billion by 2034, showing a robust CAGR of 27.52% during the forecast period 2024-2034. The market for off-highway electric vehicles (OHEVs) in the Asia-Pacific region is expanding as end users, businesses, and governments look for cleaner, more effective substitutes for diesel-powered machinery. Particularly in China, India, Japan, and Southeast Asia, OHEVs - which include electric tractors, loaders, forklifts, and other specialised machinery - address growing concerns about fuel prices, emission standards, and occupational health. The need for electric solutions has increased due to rapid urbanisation and infrastructure initiatives, particularly in industries like mining, construction, warehousing, and policies that reduce upfront costs and promote local production, like China's rural electrification initiatives and India's FAME incentives, are important motivators. Reliability and operational range are increased by technological advancements in battery chemistries (particularly lithium-ion and LFP) and growing charging networks. Adoption is further accelerated by demand from manufacturing parks, logistics centres, and expansive plantations as fleet operators become aware of the advantages of total cost of ownership and corporate sustainability including a lack of adequate charging infrastructure in rural locations, greater construction costs than diesel alternatives, and a lack of skilled maintenance workers, however, may restrain expansion. To get around these obstacles, market participants are investing in after-sales support networks and forming alliances with regional assemblers. Strong OHEV deployment is anticipated over the next five years due to increased government support, ongoing battery technology advancements, and growing environmental consciousness, establishing APAC as a preeminent off-highway electrification region. QIIB rolls out Click to Pay feature for Visa cardholders

Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) has partnered with Visa to introduce the Click to Pay feature for its Visa cardholders. The feature aims to simplify the online checkout process by allowing users to authenticate purchases with unique identifiers such as an email address or phone number. The Click to Pay feature, once users register, eliminates the requirement for manual entry of card details or the generation of one-time passcodes. QIIB head of business development sector Khaled Abdul Rahman Al-Shaibei said: 'Being among the first few issuer banks in the GCC to launch this feature, we are focused on delivering secure, seamless payment solutions for our customers. 'Our ongoing partnership with Visa enables us to integrate state-of-the-art technologies that enhance convenience while upholding the highest standards of security.' It is integrated with Visa's Payment Passkey Service, which employs biometric authentication methods including fingerprint and facial recognition, based on FIDO authentication standards. Cardholders can register for the Click to Pay service through the QIIB mobile banking application. The technology behind Click to Pay replaces sensitive payment information with encrypted tokens. Visa Qatar and Kuwait vice president and general manager Shashank Singh stated: 'We are delighted to support QIIB in bringing Click to Pay to its customers, ensuring a quicker and more secure digital checkout experience. 'This collaboration with QIIB aligns perfectly with our mission to enhance security and improve customer experiences, in line with the digital commerce objectives of the Qatar Government.' Earlier this month, an embedded finance company Weavr partnered with Visa to provide embedded Visa cards for HR technology platforms. "QIIB rolls out Click to Pay feature for Visa cardholders " was originally created and published by Electronic Payments International, a GlobalData owned brand. Old runway removal makes way for simpler route to Norfolk International Airport

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — You may remember the first time you took Robin Hood Road into Norfolk International Airport. You may also remember feeling like you made a wrong turn somewhere and ended up behind the Perryman, president and CEO of the Norfolk Airport Authority, said the wrap-around road was designed before the airport grew to the size it is now. 'This roadway system was really designed for traffic back in the 70s,' Perryman said. 'So, not a lot has happened to the roads since then.' Now, changes are coming. A new road will cut straight through the site of an inactive runway. Norfolk International Airport breaks record for most travelers in a single day 'So, we're going to close that [runway], bring Robin Hood Road straight across and it will end up in this brand new intersection that we're building,' Perryman said. 'It'll be a normal four-way intersection that has all the lights and signalization. It will have a brand new 'Welcome to ORF' sign.' The project is being done with $18 million from the federal government through begins this week and is planned to be finished in one year.'It'll be a little complicated and a little dicey during construction, Perryman said. 'We'll have maintenance of operations and turns and all that built into it.' The project does include the removal of some trees, but the team said it is working with the city's arborist to make sure Norfolk International maintains the beautiful foliage that it's known for.'We're not just going off and cutting trees, bare earth here,' Perryman said. 'We're doing it very methodically and with a lot of thought behind it.' ORF adds cozy seating, sanitizing wipes, and heartfelt notes to Mother's Rooms This is part of a major renovation effort at Norfolk International Airport. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
