On Thursday it was revealed that an Air India plane burst into a fireball while carrying 242 people, including 53 Brits, flying to London Gatwick airport.
A British man miraculously survived the crash after jumping off the flaming jet and was filmed walking away from the wreckage.
After reading the reports, McFly singer Tom, 38, wrote: "Sorry, I've only just seen the terrible news about the Air India crash.
"So awful. Had I known earlier, I obviously wouldn't have posted about my flight today.
The former Strictly Come Dancing star continued: "I understand why that must have looked insensitive and have deleted it. Thanks for letting me know.
"My whole heart goes out to everyone involved in the crash and all their friends & families."
Tom got his license to fly in 2008 when he was just 23 years old.
He previously said he would have been a pilot if he wasn't in McFly.
Tom apologised after Mark Wright was slammed for moaning about leg room on his flight after the tragic Air India crash.
The former Towie star, 38, posted a snap of himself with wife Michelle Keegan and baby Palma posing in front of a private plane, as he moaned about the leg room on standard jets.
Mark Wright slammed for 'poor taste' post about planes as 265 killed in horror Air India crash
Appearing completely oblivious to the day's events, Mark wrote alongside it: '1 day babe, for now we'll take row 26 with no extra leg room.'
His followers were quick to point out his lack of sensitivity, with one person commenting: 'Prob not the best day to post this when so many people lost their lives on a plane.'
A second said: 'Not really appropriate to put this up after today's plane crash.'
While a third wrote: 'Poor taste given today's event.'
And a fourth added: 'What a time to choose to post this.'
Radio DJ Mark has since deleted the post and blamed it on an admin error.
He wrote: "I apologise for a post I just put up on my page after today's heartbreaking events.
"I have posts from a holiday that are on the scheduled setting, which go out on future days I have set them for which was done last week. It's a horrendous coincidence that today's post was on such a devastating day.
"Once I logged in to my Instagram and realised the post had gone out, I immediately deleted. My heart goes out to everyone who has been effected from today. I'm sorry for this mistake and any offence caused."
At least 265 people were killed - including those on the plane and on the ground - when the Air India flight crashed into a hostel seconds after take off.
According to flight tracking website Flightradar, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner's final signal was received just seconds after take-off.
This was last logged at 1:38pm local time - less than a minute after it started the journey.
King Charles II said he was "desperately shocked" by Thursday's air crash in India, sending "prayers and deepest possible sympathies" to the families of those affected.
"My wife and I have been desperately shocked by the terrible events in Ahmedabad this morning," the monarch wrote on Instagram, calling it a "heartbreaking and traumatic time".

Read Julian McMahon's heartwarming final public message to his lookalike daughter Madison - following his shock death after secret cancer battle

Julian McMahon and his lookalike daughter Madison Elizabeth had a heartwarming public exchange just a few months before his shocking death, aged 56. The former Home and Away star died on Thursday following a secret battle with cancer, with his wife, Kelly Paniagua, announcing the sad news on Friday. Now, his final public messages with his only child, 25, who he shared with ex-wife Brooke Burns, have been revealed in a bittersweet moment. McMahon was every inch the doting father in March when Madison shared a personal achievement on her Instagram page. Madison posted a video of herself teaching her first yoga class, writing in the caption: 'Taught my first yoga class today. I guess dreams do come true.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. McMahon was quick to write a supportive comment beneath the post, congratulating his adult daughter for achieving her dream job in Miami. 'Your awesome!' he wrote, to which Madison playfully replied with: 'No YOU'RE awesome!' The pair appeared to have a very loving relationship, as another exchange between the pair in 2023 saw McMahon consoling Madison over the death of her dog. 'To the best puppy there is and ever was, my love for you is infinite Sandy,' she wrote alongside a tribute post at the time. 'I will forever be missing you until we meet again.' McMahon responded with: 'Love. That's it! Right there. Thank you!' The Australian-American actor was married to Baywatch star Burns for two years before they split in 2001, one year after Madison was born. Burns posted her own tribute to McMahon on Saturday, sharing a photo of him with their daughter alongside a broken heart emoji. He went on to marry former model and children's book author Kelly in 2014 after 11 years of dating. The Australian entertainment industry is currently in mourning after the death of beloved actor McMahon this week. He recently starred alongside Nicholas Cage in the Stan original film The Surfer. 'We're heartbroken to hear of the passing of Julian McMahon,' the Stan official Instagram account posted on Saturday. 'His extraordinary talent and presence left a lasting mark on everyone he worked with, including the team behind The Surfer. 'These words from Australian producer Robert Connolly reflect the deep respect and affection he inspired.' Connolly penned: 'Julian was an exceptional gentleman, a consummate professional, a stunning actor and an absolute delight to work with. 'His performance in The Surfer is a triumph—one among many great performances in an incredible career—and a tour de force celebration of his skill and presence on our screens. 'His huge commitment to the film took Julian from the beaches of Western Australia, to its world premiere in Cannes, to the US and beyond, and we were all so very lucky to have shared this journey with such a gifted and exceptional performer. 'A true gift in all our careers to have had the chance to work together with such a wonderful person.' News of the beloved actor's death has also sent shockwaves through Hollywood, with celebrities taking to social media to offer heartfelt tributes. Nicolas Cage shared his reaction to the 'deeply saddening news', writing: 'I spent six weeks working with Julian, and he was the most talented of actors. 'Our scenes together on The Surfer were amongst my favourites I have ever participated in, and Julian is one of my favourite people. 'He was a kind and intelligent man. My love to his family.' US actress Rose McGowan who starred alongside McMahon in the hit series Charmed, took to Instagram on Saturday to pay homage to the star. She re-shared an illustration of McMahon wearing what appeared to be angel wings. Madison posted a video of herself teaching her first yoga class, writing: 'Taught my first yoga class today. I guess dreams do come true.' And McMahon was quick to support her 'Oh Julian, you force of brilliance,' she wrote. 'For you, your family, and your loving fans all over the world, I pray for comfort.' McGowan, 51, also commented on the original post from artist 'Stagwarlock'. 'Beautiful art of a beautiful soul,' she wrote, to which the artist replied: '@rosemcgowan as sad as he was magnetic.' Fellow Charmed co-star Brian Krause, who played Leo Wyatt on the hit series, also shared his condolences. He posted a photo of McMahon beaming broadly while remembering the actor as a 'kind soul'. 'Sad day for our Charmed family!' Krause captioned the image. 'Julian was one of the funniest, devilishly handsome and kind souls! Prayers to his family and close friends. He will surely be missed!' His post was met with an outpouring of condolences from fans and followers. 'RIP JULIAN, our Cole Turner, gone too soon, now reunited with Shannen in Heaven,' one fan wrote, referring to fellow Charmed star Shannen Doherty, who passed away in July 2024. Another chimed in with a similar: 'Nooo! Not Cole! So heartbreaking. F-Cancer. The only comfort is that I'm sure Shannen welcomed him with open arms. 'What a tremendously amazing actor. He could play a hero or villain beautifully. Gone too soon. Condolences to his family.' Holly Marie Combs, who starred as Piper Halliwell on the hit show, joined her Charmed alumni with a tribute. She shared a clip from a fan account which showed a montage of McMahon behind the scenes from the filming of Charmed. The video shows the Aussie actor hamming it up with castmates including Alyssa Milano and Doherty. 'My favourite pain in the a*** ever,' she wrote, augmenting the sentiment with silver heart emojis. McMahon starred alongside Doherty and Milano on the cult Aaron Spelling-created magical drama Charmed. He played Cole Turner, the half-demon ex-husband of Alyssa's character Phoebe Halliwell. Quickly becoming a fan favourite, McMahon had a starring role in the series for three seasons before returning in the seventh season in a guest capacity. During his time on Charmed, McMahon was also romantically linked to Doherty, with the pair dating briefly during the show's third season in 2000–2001. McMahon's wife of 11 years, Paniagua, confirmed his death on Friday. 'With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer,' she said in a statement to Deadline. Paniagua continued by expressing the love McMahon had for his fans and those around him and what being an actor meant to him during his life. 'Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible,' she said. 'We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. 'And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.'

'I tried to stay away - but boxing found me'

After winning gold at the British Karate Championships, a 10-year-old Harlem Eubank went with his mother to the shop, where they bumped into his famous uncle."Harlem's just won a British title," his mum, beaming with pride, told Chris Eubank expected a hug or at least a smile... But the former world champion didn't miss a beat."I have 19 world title defences," he replied flatly, before carrying on with his day."That was it, he was gone," Harlem says now, laughing. "My mum was probably fuming but even at that age, I understood what he was trying to say. He was planting the seed that it's never enough, there's always more to do. Aim higher."It was vintage Eubank Sr - dismissive yet full of a lesson Harlem still carries with him today as he prepares for the biggest fight of his professional 31-year-old welterweight will face fellow Briton and former world-title challenger Jack Catterall at Manchester's AO Arena on Saturday."It's a massive statement fight. That's why I pushed for it. I believe I'll be a world champion and this is the fight that proves it," Harlem to BBC Sport, Harlem reflects on the weight of his family name and how he carved out his own boxing journey the hard way, earning respect through the traditional route. How boxing found its latest Eubank The Eubank name is steeped in British boxing folklore with unforgettable nights and iconic rivalries.A two-time world champion, the eccentric Eubank Sr was a boxing superstar who transcended the sport. And by the time Harlem turned professional in 2017, his cousin Chris Eubank Jr was already a British Harlem - a noticeably less flamboyant and more reserved character than his uncle and cousin - never intended to follow in their footsteps."I tried to stay away from boxing at first because my family had already done it," he explains. "They'd been to the top of the mountain so what's the point in me starting?"In his early years, Harlem threw himself into karate and football. He earned a black belt by the age of 11 and later for signed for Brighton & Hove Albion's youth 14, he walked into a boxing gym for the first time out of curiosity, but football coaches told him he had to choose. And so, boxing was put years later, though, something pulled him back."I came back to boxing at 18 and never looked back," he says. "It felt like boxing found me rather than me looking for it. It felt like it was meant to be." Building a profile on free-to-air television Harlem turned professional aged 23 but, much like his cousin, quickly realised that being a Eubank in boxing can be a double-edged sword."Everyone wants to beat you. They bring their best version into the ring every time because they think they're fighting for a world title," he an age of influencer boxing, Harlem could have arguably chosen an easier and more lucrative route rather than trading on his name. Instead, he fought on small-hall shows and steadily honed his craft."I've done it the traditional way. There's not a door I haven't kicked down myself," he a throwback to the ITV era when his uncle headlined to millions on free-to-air television, Harlem has spent the past few years as a regular headliner of Channel 5's Friday night boxing cards."Being on Channel 5 has allowed me to engage with different people, new audiences who aren't necessarily sports fans and just happen to stumble across boxing," he says. Harlem globetrotter - targeting world honours With his uncle and cousin watching from ringside, Harlem stopped Tyrone McKenna in the 10th round in March. But Chorley's Catterall is a different proposition.A proven contender who has operated at world level, Catterall is regarded by many as the man who should have become England's first male four-belt undisputed champion after a controversial points loss to Josh though, is relishing the role of underdog."Time and time again, I've had to prove people wrong," he says. "But I think people are starting to take notice of me now."Jack is the best at 147lb in the UK, hands down. Beating him will lead to the biggest and best fights, whether that's a world title next or taking on top names in the United States."

Festival organiser gets death threats after cancelling Bob Vylan set

The boss of a music festival said she received death threats from pro-Palestinian activists after dropping controversial rap duo Bob Vylan from the line-up. Catherine Jackson-Smith, who co-founded the Radar festival in Manchester, revealed she received an anonymous phone call after dropping the act following their 'death, death to the IDF' chant at Glastonbury. Ms Jackson-Smith said the caller had made a number of 'vile' comments before ending the call by saying: 'We know who you are, we know what you look like, we know where you're going to be. Do you feel safe? Watch your back.' Bob Vylan sparked outrage last weekend after rapper Pascal Robinson-Foster led the crowd in the controversial anti-Israeli chant during an appearance at Glastonbury that was broadcast live on the BBC. The comments have been widely condemned as anti-Semitic and police have opened an investigation. Bob Vylan have claimed they are being 'targeted for speaking up'. The duo were scheduled to perform in the headline Saturday slot at Radar, an independent festival that takes place at the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Trafford Park, Manchester. But in a brief Instagram post published on Wednesday, promoters said Bob Vylan would no longer be appearing. Radar's social media accounts were quickly flooded with abusive comments, including accusations that the festival was 'complicit in genocide' and 'supports the incineration of babies'. One social media user called on all other bands playing at Radar to boycott the festival in response, saying: 'If you don't pull out you support genocide.' The threats highlight the scale of abuse levelled by activists in an increasingly incendiary debate over the conflict in Gaza. It comes despite Ms Jackson-Smith insisting that she wanted Bob Vylan to perform but that she was 'forced' to pull the group after being told the festival could not go ahead if they remained on the line-up. The festival boss said that telling the duo they could not perform was 'categorically one of the most horrendous professional discussions I've ever had'. 'I cannot express clearly enough that I wanted Bob Vylan to perform at our festival,' she told the 2 Promoters, 1 Pod podcast, adding that she had considered booking controversial Irish hip hop trio Kneecap as a secret set instead. Radar and other festival organisers are also coming under pressure from pro-Israel lobby groups who are demanding that acts such as Bob Vylan and Kneecap be removed from line-ups. UK Lawyers for Israel have taken credit for Radar's decision to cancel the act. The charity said it had written to Academy Music Group, owners of the O2 Victoria Warehouse, warning of potential breaches of the law should the duo repeat their chants. A spokesman for the law group said: 'We are pleased to see that this kind of anti-Semitic hateful behaviour is not being tolerated by music venues. 'We hope this serves as a lesson to other performers that they cannot be racist and anti-Semitic with impunity.'
