He jumped 50ft to his death after taking a 'potentially fatal' amount of painkiller.
Trinny said: "I think going back to earlier, it's that would've, should've, could've - so do I regret that I didn't do more for my ex-husband to stop him killing himself?
"No, because it was nothing I could have done.
"To ponder on the regret of somebody who kills himself, it can take you into the darkest hole.
'But you can also know when somebody who is in that situation switches off, and that is their path and nobody can get in.
'I had to learn.'
Mum Trinny also told Fearne Cotton's Happy Place that she also had no regrets about taking drugs for a decade.
"I actually don't.
"Because it gave me such a depth of having to deal with life at an early age.
"Some testing things that it rounded me up more as a person.

'When I got into my 30s, I had a lot of experience to draw on to be resilient.
"So thereby I don't regret that it happened and I should draw upon it.'

Who will replace John Torode and Gregg Wallace on MasterChef? The latest updates
Now John Torode and Gregg Wallace have been fired from BBC's MasterChef – there are already two 'confirmed' hosts set to take over. The overhaul comes after an independent review commissioned by production company Banijay, into misconduct accusations against Wallace, 60, upheld 45 of the 83 allegations, leading to his official removal from the cooking reality series. Torode, 59, exited hot on his heels after it was claimed he used the 'N word' on two separate occasions, although he has said he has 'no recollection' of the incident. The BBC is now deciding what to do with all their pre-recorded content, including one MasterChef season with Torode and Wallace, and a Celebrity MasterChef season, as well as two festive specials with just Torode. The broadcaster has reiterated its commitment to giving the amateur chefs featured in the unaired season their chance to shine. Meanwhile, the director-general Tim Davie has said he sees a future for the show beyond 2028 (the year until which the contract is currently renewed), all of which means, new hosts are likely to be announced by the BBC imminently. According to the latest sources, there are two TV personalities primed to take over (with other names still being bandied about). Earlier this year, BBC star Matt Tebbutt, 51, was posed as a potential replacement on both The Professionals and the traditional series after his success almost decade-long success presenting Saturday Kitchen. 'Matt rose to the challenge of coming into Saturday Kitchen after it was previously hosted by another big name in the world of food, James Martin,' an insider told The Sun at the time. The source added: 'He managed the feat of making it his own and almost making viewers forget who his predecessor was – now Beeb bosses, and the show producers Banijay, will be hoping he can work the same magic on MasterChef.' Osman added: 'There are so many great food presenters, Matt Tebbutt is now doing stuff on the professionals one for example, he'd be an amazing host for it.' What's more, in recent weeks, Tebbutt has also hinted that his tenure on Saturday Kitchen could come to an end in the near future. 'It's going to stop at some point. I'm going to have to do something,' he said on a podcast in March. Now, a source has told The Sun: 'Matt is seen as a really safe pair of hands by the BBC. He has been in the frame for some time and is now being lined up for MasterChef. Great British Menu star Andi Oliver, 62, has come forward as a top candidate to take over. The Sun source said that while Masterchef is 'keen to bring her on board' they are 'not sure if she can commit at this stage because of her schedule with [the Great British Menu]'. The insider continued: 'Everyone loves Andi and she would be perfect for the role in many ways. 'She is very talented on her own merit but she would also help bring a more diverse look for the show, which is much needed. 'The last thing the show wants is to be slapped with being 'pale, and stale' by a new generation of food lovers.' It comes after the confirmed the Gogglebox star had quickly become the fan-favourite at 5/2. 'Known for her upbeat energy and authority on Great British Menu, Andi's culinary credibility has made her a top choice among fans and bookmakers alike,' the site explained, per the Mirror. This casting would also mean she makes history as the first Black woman to present the show. Speaking about the MasterChef scandal when it first kicked off last year, Oliver told The Guardian 'there's a certain culture that allows it to happen.' The Stirring It Up podcast host (presented with her daughter Miquita Oliver) added: 'Culture will only change if we stop all the fake outrage and actually implement change.' Coming in strong as a frontrunner is restaurant critic Grace Dent, who was already tipped to be replacing Wallace even before Torode's sacking. The I'm A Celeb star, 51, started her journey on the BBC reality competition series as a contestant on the 2023 Christmas special. After Wallace was removed from the series at the end of 2024 after the misconduct allegation first came to light, Dent stepped in for him alongside Torode to film the new season of Celebrity MasterChef. Although it was unclear whether she would make the jump to the amateur series as a permanent replacement for Gregg, all signs point towards yes. Last week, The Sun reported that she was being lined up to take over to provide the show with a 'fresh start'. 'Grace is a natural fit for the show,' a source told the publication. 'She is also hosting Celebrity MasterChef alongside John. Grace loves to support up-and-coming talent in the industry and loves the format of the show.' Meanwhile, Pointless host Richard Osman added on the Rest is Entertainment podcast: 'Grace Dent hosted half of the celebrity one – whether we'll see that or not – but she can continue to host the celebrity one very very easily.' Michelin-starred English chef Tom Kerridge is hot on Oliver's heels with his odds at 3/1. The multi-restaurant owner (Hand and Flowers and Coach) has hosted various BBC shows including The Hidden World of Hospitality, Tom Kerridge's Fresh Start and Top of the Shop with Tom Kerridge – so he has form. Odds analyst Dave James told The Mirror that Tom 'is attracting a lot of support.' James added: 'His profile is huge, and he's one of the most trusted names in British food. This could come down to what direction the BBC wants – prestige, relatability, or a bit of both.' Influencer Poppy O'Toole is a more left-field suggestion, but going strong in the odds at 4/1. The TikTok star grew to fame for her 'potato' series in which she showcased the many, many ways you can cook the humble spud. Now, she boasts 4.8 million followers. The chef, who has a strong following among the younger generation, has also made the jump to mainstream media as a regular fixture on ITV's This Morning and has even appeared as a judge on Cooking with the Stars. The cookbook writer could well draw in new viewers to the show as it heralds in a new era. There are several other names in the mix from the high-profile stars such as James Martin and Nigella Lawson, to those who have already played in the MasterChef field. This includes The Professionals judge Marcus Wareing and Irish chef Anna Haugh, who has stepped in for Wallace already. More Trending British-Italian cook Angela Hartnett, who was Gordon Ramsey's protégée, has also been floated as an option with her odds at 5/1. She has also appeared as a judge on Great British Menu with Andi, giving them a pre-existing working relationship. Finally, Great British Bake Off star Nadiya Hussain's name has also been floated – although the BBC recently announced they would not be producing anymore shows with her, which she has vocally criticised. Red Dwarf cast now almost 40 years on from show's first episode as icon dies
Following the death of cast member Charles Augins, we look at what happened to the originals from Red Dwarf after one of the UK's best loved comedy series came to an end Fans of Red Dwarf have been left saddened by the death of Charles Augins, popular villain Queeg from the show's second series. Fans online have remembered the actor, who worked alongside Chris Barrie and Craig Charles on the long-running BBC programme following the news. It has been almost four decades since the sci-fi comedy first appeared on TV screens. The much-loved show aired on BBC Two between 1988 and 1999 before a reboot between 2009 and 2020. Red Dwarf centred around Scouse technician Dave Lister who wakes up following three million years in suspended animation to discover he is the last living human. He finds that he is on the mining spacecraft, joined by a hologram of his detested former bunkmate Arnold Rimmer and 'Cat,' a life form evolved from Lister's pregnant cat. The show gained a huge cult following and is remembered as one of the UK's best loved comedy series. The show went on to make household names of its cast, but where are they now? Here's what happened to the main cast, and their lives after the legendary programme. Craig Charles - Dave Lister Craig began his career as a performance poet, appearing on arts programme Riverside on BBC Two and Channel 4's Black on Black. However, it was his performance as Dave Lister in Red Dwarf that made Craig a household name. The actor appeared in all 12 series of the show. Craig joined the cast of Coronation Street in 2005 as taxi driver Lloyd Mullaney. He has also had acting roles in The Bill, Eastenders, Holby City, Doctors and Dream Team. Many will remember Craig for providing the English voice-over commentary on Takeshi's Castle for Challenge between 2002 and 2004. The popular game show had more than 100 contestants face a series of unusual challenges to reach the Showdown in hopes of winning a huge cash prize. Craig also presented Robot Wars on BBC Two between 1998 and 2003, then Channel 5 between 2003 and 2004. More recently, Craig has presented his weekday afternoon show on BBC Radio 6 Music since October 2021. He also regularly performs DJ sets as Craig Charles Funk and Soul. Chris Barrie - Arnold J. Rimmer Chris started his career with appearances on the BBC Radio 4 sketch show Son of Cliché and other various voice impersonation roles in the 1980s, including the original series of Spitting Image. He joined the cast of Red Dwarf in 1988 and played Arnold J. Rimmer in all 12 series. The actor is also known for playing Gordon Brittas in BBC sitcom The Brittas Empire from 1991 to 1997. He reprised the role in 2014 in the music video for Little Mix's version of 'Word Up'. He played Lara Croft's butler Hillary in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in 2001 and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life in 2003. Chris has presented Britain's Greatest Machines with Chris Barrie since 2009 on the National Geographic channel. He has also hosted the television series Chris Barrie's Massive Engines and Chris Barrie's Massive Machines on the Discovery Channel, which was later shown on Channel 5. From 2015 until 2018, he was the voice over of Channel 5's Car Crash TV and Idiot TV from 2018 until 2019. Danny John-Jules - Cat Danny has appeared in many films and television shows, but he is fondly remembered as Cat in all 12 series of Red Dwarf. Danny started his showbiz career as Baldy's Lookout in the 1979 film Scum starring a young Ray Winstone. He also lent his voice to two characters in the 1986 film Labyrinth, starring David Bowie. His other film credits include Barfly Jack in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and Asad in Blade II. He has had appearances on television shows The Bill, Casualty and Doctors, as well as children's series M.I High and Maid Marian. Danny was also Milton Wordsworth in 74 episodes of BBC children's show The Story Makers. Following the end of Red Dwarf in 2020, Danny has appeared on Shakespeare and Hathaway: private Investigators and the 2021 Alan McGee biopic Creation Stories. He was also an original cast member in Death in Paradise, playing policeman Dwayne Myers until 2018. Robert Llewellyn - Kryten Robert became involved in Red Dwarf after his one-man comedy, about a robot who becomes more human, was performed at Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It was watched by the producer of the show, Paul Jackson, who invited Robert to audition for the role of Kryten. He joined the cast of Red Dwarf in 1989 at the beginning of its third series. Like his co-stars, Robert has had various television roles outside of Red Dwarf. He appeared as the Prime Minster in an episode of the CBBC series M.I. High in 2007 and was the narrator of the Channel 5 series The Boss is Coming to Dinner in 2010. He was the original presenter of Scrapheap Challenge on Channel 4 alongside Dick Strawbridge as a judge, and hosted it for 10 series. He also presented the 2015 BBC Two show The World's Busiest Railway with Dan Snow and Anita Rani. He was a contestant with Craig Charles on BBC One's Antiques Road Trip. Alongside his acting career, the star has written a total of fourteen books. He is also an electric car and sustainable technology advocate, regularly discussing the subject on his YouTube series Fully Charged and at conventions across the globe.
