Jon Gruden Sends Message to Darren Waller Amid Dolphins Trade
Jon Gruden Sends Message to Darren Waller Amid Dolphins Trade originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Las Vegas Raiders brought back head coach Jon Gruden ahead of the 2018 NFL season, marking the second time he has been at the helm of the franchise. He also coached the team from 1998 to 2001. Advertisement Unfortunately, his winning percentage dropped from 59.4% to 41.5% during his second tenure (via Pro Football Reference). However, he did spot tight end Darren Waller during a pregame warmup against the Baltimore Ravens, and he ended up becoming a key catalyst for the Raiders' offense. Waller recorded 197 catches for 2,341 yards and 12 touchdowns during his two full seasons under Gruden. He recently retired from the NFL after a brief stint with the New York Giants. Advertisement Gruden responded to this news by posting a quick message for Waller on social media and attaching a video of the two together. "My man Darren Waller is back!" Gruden wrote. "Play the song!" The song that Gruden is referring to is "Top Play," a song that Waller released himself during his retirement when he was making music. The two can be seen in the video singing along to it together. Waller caught just 52 passes for 552 yards and a touchdown in 12 games for the Giants in 2023. He did not appear in the NFL last season. He will join a tight end room that features players like Julian Hill, Pharaoh Brown and Tanner Conner. Mandatory Credit: Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports New York Giants fans have been buzzing with excitement over the last week following some intriguing comments from former superstar Odell Beckham Jr. During an appearance on a panel at Fanatics Fest, Beckham was asked if he would re-sign with the Giants this offseason. His simple response, 'I got you,' went viral on social media, leading fans to believe a reunion was on the horizon. Advertisement However, one insider believes such a reunion is unlikely to take place. Giants reportedly 'unlikely' to sign Odell Beckham Jr. ESPN's Giants insider Jordan Raanan recently answered some questions about the team on his podcast, 'Breaking Big Blue,' and gave some insight on the Giants' interest in reuniting with Beckham. Credit: Danielle Parhizkaran / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images 'Odell Beckham Jr. made some comments at Fanatics Fest about maybe coming back to the Giants. I talked to people, there's nothing brewing there,' Raanan said. 'It's unlikely to happen. I would not expect Odell Beckham Jr. to be a Giant again. 'Maybe somewhere along the line, he retires a one-day contract to retire a Giant… I don't see, based on talking to people, that Odell Beckham coming back to the Giants this year is something that's realistic and makes a ton of sense.' Advertisement Not only were Giants fans, but even some Giants players were engaged in the initial rumors surrounding Beckham. Several stars, such as Malik Nabers, Brian Burns, and rookie Abdul Carter, made comments on social media expressing their interest in Beckham donning the Blue and Red once more. But ultimately, it doesn't seem like Beckham will be back with Big Blue in 2025. What could Beckham provide in 2025? In 2024, Beckham was largely ineffective. He appeared in nine games with the Miami Dolphins, making zero starts and totaling only 55 yards on nine receptions. Credit: Sam Navarro-Imagn Images If the Giants were to sign Beckham this summer, he would be unlikely to play a major role in the offense and could even be viewed as just a training camp body. Advertisement Adding depth is a crucial step in the summer. As training camp and preseason intensify, the Giants will want to be vigilant in adding more talent to their roster. Perhaps Beckham could become more of an option down the line. Related Headlines

Travis Kelce Comes Clean About 'Craziest Thing' He's Faced Dating Taylor Swift
It's been nearly two years since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce broke the internet after going public with their relationship, and now the Kansas City Chiefs player is coming clean about the 'craziest thing' he's faced dating the high-profile pop star. While appearing on the 'Bussin' With the Boys' podcast Monday, Kelce opened up about being bombarded incessantly by paparazzi since he and Swift became an item. 'That's probably the only thing I didn't really grasp until you're in it,' he said. 'That's probably the craziest part, though. Like, I'm just playing golf, and all of the sudden in the trees, there's just a fucking guy with a camera. Like, ah, shit. I gotta go to the restroom now.' Kelce then noted that he 'can't just go over here and take a piss' while being watched by so many photographers, adding, 'Just don't want my meat on Page Six, know what I mean?' Elsewhere in the episode, which aired Tuesday, Kelce shut down criticism that he and Swift are 'trying to seek attention' amid their string of recent public outings during the NFL offseason. 'We're having fun with it, being a couple,' Kelce told hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan. The two have been spending a chunk of their time in Florida in recent months, where Kelce reportedly rented a $20 million mansion in Boca Raton for his offseason NFL training. 'We're just enjoying life and having fun, going to hockey games,' Kelce added. '[I'm] kind of trying to introduce her to some of the sports world that she hasn't really [experienced].'
