
GNU says it wants to enhance financial transparency
This came during a tripartite meeting that brought together Minister of Transport and Financial Advisor to the Prime Minister, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi; Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Al-Lafi; and Head of the Executive Team for the Prime Minister's Initiatives and Strategic Projects, Mustafa Al-Manea.
According to Hakomitna platform, the meeting reviewed performance reports related to several vital projects and discussed mechanisms for publishing their financial data to ensure that the public and oversight bodies are informed about key details, including funding sources, contracting mechanisms, and implementation phases.
The participants also emphasized the need to expand the use of the electronic disclosure portal for projects and link it to the platform for tracking tenders and contracts, as a way to boost public and international confidence in the credibility and transparency of public spending.
This meeting comes in line with the directives of Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, who has stressed the importance of enhancing financial governance and transparency throughout all stages of project implementation.
