Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge is already being tipped to replace a key sibling next year

Digital Trends13-05-2025
Much of the talk this week is about Samsung's all-new Galaxy S25 Edge. However, attention will soon turn to next year's Galaxy S26 lineup. The Elec says that the 2026 lineup will look slightly different from the more recent ones, and here's how.
Samsung reportedly plans to replace its Plus smartphone variant with an Edge model next year. Historically, Plus sales have lagged behind those of Ultra and standard models, so this would make sense.

As Android Police explains, Samsung reportedly aims to ship 37.7 million Galaxy S25 units this year, with the Ultra model accounting for 17.4 million and the standard version making up 13.6 million. It anticipates moving approximately 6.7 million units of the Plus variant.
The Galaxy S25 Edge arrives on the market at the end of this month.
No doubt, Samsung won't finalize its next Galaxy S lineup until it sees how well the Galaxy S25 Edge performs. Poor sales could mean another Plus model arrives next year. It's also possible the company later decides to produce both a S26 Plus and S26 Edge model. Another report said Samsung is working on four different sized OLED panels for 2026 so anything is possible at this point.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge measures just 5.8mm thick and weighing 163 grams. Despite its slim profile, it boasts a large 6.7-inch AMOLED 2X display protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and a powerful 200MP main camera with AI-enhanced features.
While it shares the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and many AI capabilities with the other S25 models, it distinguishes itself with its focus on portability and sleek aesthetics, offered in Titanium Silver, Jet Black, and Icy Blue. However, it features a smaller 3900mAh battery to achieve this thinness and lacks a dedicated telephoto lens compared to some of its S25 counterparts.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra just tipped for major camera upgrade according to latest leak

Samsung puts fairly excellent cameras in its flagship phones, with the Galaxy S25 Ultra being our top pick in our list of best camera phones. Lately, the company has seemed to settle on similar hardware year to year, with improvements found on the software side. However, a new leak from regular Samsung tipster Ice Universe reveals a pretty major upgrade for next year's Galaxy S26 Ultra. His most recent leak claims that the flagship phone will feature a larger F/1.4 aperture. Last month, Ice Universe claimed that Samsung would use the same ISOCELL HP2 sensor in the primary camera. This is the same 200 megapixel sensor that Samsung has used since introducing the Galaxy S23 Ultra in 2023. This gives us pause to consider that Samsung is relying too heavily on AI to sell its phones rather than the hardware itself. Still, the larger aperture is an upgrade in and of itself. Currently, the S25 Ultra features the HP2 sensor and an f/1.7 aperture. The camera's aperture is the opening that lets light pass to the sensor. Simply, the f-number of your camera stands for the focal length of the camera, which is slightly different on a smartphone but principally similar. The lower the number, the larger the aperture. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. What this means is that the S26 Ultra will be able to take in more light, which should make the phone perform better in low-light situations. It should also create a shallower depth of field, meaning out-of-focus areas in a photo will look more blurry while sharpening the subject. For most people, this may not rock the camera boat, but for shooters who enjoy Samsung's manual controls, a larger aperture will be a boon, especially in low-light images. If Samsung keeps to its traditional schedule, we'll likely see the S26 Ultra revealed at an Unpacked event in January of 2026. Samsung's next budget earbuds might beat the Pro model in one key area

We've already seen what the Galaxy Buds 3 FE could look like , and now we have a good idea of how long they might last. A new certification listing has revealed battery specs for both the earbuds and their case, and they're surprisingly generous for a Fan Edition model. According to the listing on the SGS Fimko certification platform spotted by SammyGuru , the total battery capacity for the earbuds is listed at 200mAh — equating to 100mAh per bud — while the charging case is rated at 900mAh. That's a massive jump from the original Galaxy Buds FE, which offered 60mAh per earbud and just 479mAh in the case. That would put the Buds 3 FE ahead of many more expensive models regarding battery capacity. For example, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro had battery specs similar to the original Buds FE. It's all very promising, but we'll need to see real-world testing before drawing conclusions about actual endurance. This significant jump in capacity comes alongside other shakeups in the Galaxy Buds FE line. A previous leak suggests the design of the upcoming buds will look nearly identical to the Buds 3 Pro, with a glossy finish, black stem accents, and silicone tips. There's no official launch date yet, but with FCC and SGS Fimko certification complete, these earbuds are likely not far off. SammyGuru speculated they could arrive alongside the Galaxy S25 FE, and with Samsung confirming an August or early September launch window for that phone, the timing certainly lines up.

Samsung's 27-Inch Curved Gaming Monitor Is Cheaper on Amazon Than on Samsung's Own Site

If you've spent all of your money on a fantastic gaming PC and have just realized you also need to get a monitor as well, then you might have the fear setting in. Don't let it in though, because you can find some really good gaming monitors out there which are actually reasonably priced, and better yet, on sale. Right now, Amazon has an excellent deal on that means you can pick up this Samsung 27-inch S39C Curved Gaming Monitor for just $140. That's 39% off the normal price of $230, and that's a very solid amount of money off. This deal won't last forever though, so if you do decide you want it, make sure you buy it quickly to avoid missing out. See at Amazon Gaming monitors excel in a few different ways. The main thing a lot of them have going for them isn't actually about the quality of the visuals, but the speed of them. It's really important that you can see more frames to succeed when it comes to competitive gaming, which is why a good refresh rate is so important, but it's also important that the latency isn't too high, or you'll feel input lag all the time. This gaming monitor has a sizeable 27-inch screen with full HD visuals to help you stay properly immersed. The 75Hz refresh rate means that you'll be able to see up to 75 frames per second has well, which is enough for all but the most hardcore gamers out there. It has a fairly low response rate of four milliseconds too, so you'll get a really good feeling of responsiveness from your games. Along with that, it has a bunch of features which really help it perform well here. Along with AMD FreeSync to make sure your monitor can figure out the right settings, it also has Game Mode for boosted performance, a frameless design to reduce the overall clunkiness of the monitor, and built-in speakers. That last one can be a huge win, especially given how many of us usually end up just turning up some headphones and hoping for the best. This monitor is a solid pickup at $230, but at $140, this is a great purchase for those looking for a solid monitor that's not going to cost them an arm and a leg. It's got enough power for just about anything you could want from it, so make the most of this deal quickly. See at Amazon
