Philly's Wells Fargo Center to be rebranded the Xfinity Mobile Arena
The Wells Fargo Center will get rebranded as Xfinity Mobile Arena this fall.
Why it matters: Sixers and Flyers fans have walked under the South Philly arena's yellow-and-red logo since 2010. But the new splash of purple will also bring big changes.
Driving the news: Philly's media and tech giant Comcast Corp. — which operates Xfinity as its residential cable, internet and telephone business — will own the naming rights to the arena starting Sept. 1.
The deal, announced Tuesday, runs through the 2030-31 season.
Crews will start removing Wells Fargo signs this summer.
💵 A Spectacor spokesperson declined to reveal how much Comcast Corp. is paying for the naming rights.
The intrigue: Xfinity also holds the naming rights to the popular sports bar in the stadium complex, Xfinity Live!, which is in the midst of its own redesign.
🛜 What to expect: As part of the deal, Xfinity Mobile will offer new WiFi capabilities to the arena, which Xfinity customers can use for free.
That includes accessing the company's WiFi PowerBoost feature.
The Xfinity name will also be splashed across the arena's roof.
Catch up quick: The deal comes after arena owner Comcast Spectacor, the company's sports and entertainment arm, buried the hatchet with Sixers owner Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment following years of acrimony.
The pair announced plans in January to replace the arena by 2031 — a pivot for the 76ers owner following a yearslong push to build a new arena in Center City.
Comcast will also own the naming rights to the new South Philly arena, per Spectacor and Harris Entertainment.

And while there are a lot of guards that will likely enter the 2025-26 season ahead of Sallis on the depth chart, if the front office proves correct — and Sallis does come anywhere near fulfilling his mighty potential — then he can potentially become a part of rebuilding a winning culture in Philadelphia and having the Sixers emerge as contenders in the wide-open Eastern Conference.

2025 Sixers summer league schedule: Salt Lake City and Las Vegas
Now that the 2024-25 NBA season is in the books with the Oklahoma City Thunder taking home the Larry O'Brien trophy, now is the time to head into the offseason and move into the summer. The NBA draft has come and gone and now is the time for the youngsters to make an impression on their new teams. The Philadelphia 76ers will participate in both the Salt Lake City and Las Vegas summer leagues. Former All-Star Jeff Teague gives praise to Sixers' Justin Edwards
Throughout the pre-draft process leading into the 2025 NBA draft, there was a lot of talk about Rutgers star Ace Bailey. The collegiate star did not work out for anybody heading into the draft as it appeared he had a target in mind. The Philadelphia 76ers were one of those teams Bailey canceled a workout on at the very last minute and the young forward ended up being selected No. 5 overall by the Utah Jazz. The Sixers ended up selecting Baylor guard VJ Edgecombe at No. 3 overall. Former All-Star guard Jeff Teague wasn't happy with Bailey's draft strategy and criticized the future NBA star. In the same breath, he gave a lot of love and praise to Sixers forward Justin Edwards: That's the dumbest move I've ever heard from an agent in my life…His agent is horrible… you don't have to work out, but you can go meet with the teams… Nobody else is declining them, Dylan Harper ain't declining them… Tre Johnson not declining them. They got a player that's better than him in Philly--Edwards, I swear Edwards is nice…He just got messed up in that Kentucky system, but he can really hoop. Edwards, who the Sixers just agreed to a 3-year deal with, averaged 10.1 points as an undrafted rookie in the 2024-25 season. He will now look to build on that and continue to move forward. He has the chance to be in coach Nick Nurse's rotation as he looks to build and develop in this league.
