Channel 24, a new concert venue set to open in Sacramento's midtown in April, plans to address ongoing concerns over parking and transportation at a community meeting later this month.
Representatives from Another Planet Entertainment, the Berkeley-based promoter behind Channel 24, will host the meeting from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 26 at E. Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts, 2420 N St., according to Liz Liles-Brown, the company's marketing director.
'Representatives from Another Planet Entertainment will be in attendance to answer questions from the community and provide detailed information on Channel 24's plans,' Liles-Brown said.
The company announced plans in February to open the 2,100-capacity venue at 1800 24th St., near R Street, with a slate of musical acts through the summer, including a sold-out show in July for indie rock stars Death Cab for Cutie. The center's first performance will be from country singer-songwriter Tucker Wetmore. His April 24 concert is also sold out.
Since the announcement, residents have voiced concerns about parking availability in the area, arguing that the reliance on street parking will not meet demand.
David Crow, who lives two blocks from the venue, said he was 'absolutely dismayed' by the lack of a dedicated parking solution.
'Neighbors brought this concern up two years ago, yet they still insist, 'There's plenty of street parking.' There's not,' Crow wrote in response to an earlier Bee story. 'After around 5:00, Midtown's full.'
Liles-Brown said Another Planet is 'actively securing locations' for additional parking lots and that details will be shared soon. She emphasized that ensuring parking access and safety for concertgoers remains the company's top priority.
'There's a lot of street parking currently, and there's a lot of nearby lots,' Liles-Brown said. 'We're presenting this all very soon with the city and with the Newton Booth Neighborhoods Association.'
The March 26 meeting comes as Another Planet seeks to assure residents that the new venue will benefit the community while minimizing disruptions. Channel 24's opening marks the company's first permanent music venue in Sacramento.

The TRUNK VASE by TABLEAU & Bloc Studios is a Sculptural Dialogue of Permanence and Impermanence

Summary Copenhagen-based design studioTABLEAUhas once again partnered withBloc Studiosfor a collaborative offering. Marking their second project together, the collaboration centers on the TRUNK VASE — the perfect culmination of TABLEAU's radical botanical expressions and Bloc Studios' sculptural, avant-garde marble discipline. As its name suggests, the TRUNK VASE features a form that's reminiscent of a tree trunk. Carved from rare Giallo Imperiale marble, the pieces evoke the rugged texture of a tree trunk while retaining the refined finish of fine stone. Expert Carrara artisans shape each piece to highlight its natural veins and matte surface, then hollow out the core to house living flowers. The vase's deliberately ambiguous form invites viewers to question the boundary between the organic world and human craft. Julius Værnes Iversen, founder and creative director of TABLEAU, describes the TRUNK VASE as 'more than a vessel for flowers — it's a conversation about what connects us.' He explains, 'We set out to create something that evokes both the human body and the forest, where the viewer's interpretation becomes part of the piece.' Meanwhile, Sara Ferron, founder of Bloc Studios, adds that this collaboration challenged them 'to stretch marble beyond function — into metaphor. The TRUNK VASE feels raw, almost primitive — yet it's unmistakably refined. It reflects nature's form and humanity's place within it.' This dialogue between the designers underscores the conceptual depth and artistic intention behind the piece. With just ten pieces produced worldwide, the TRUNK VASE is available exclusively through select galleries as well as TABLEAU andBloc Studios' official platforms.

'Bachelorette' alum Hannah Brown marries Adam Woolard in France: ‘Mr. and Mrs. Woolard'

The couple exchanged vows at Domaine du Mont Leuze on Saturday, July 26. 7:25 Hannah Brown is officially off the market! Former "The Bachelorette" star announced she married Adam Woolard over the weekend. In a joint Instagram post on Sunday, Brown shared a stunning wedding photo with Woolard, introducing themselves as "Mr. and Mrs. Woolard 🤍." The nuptials took place on Saturday at Domaine du Mont Leuze in France, attended by 101 guests, according to People. "We wanted something really timeless and classic, and really just the celebration of our love with our friends and family," Brown told the outlet. For the special day, Brown wore a corseted ball gown with intricate leaf embroidery, paired with Jimmy Choo Staz Mesh Bow Pointed Pumps, while Woolard looked sharp in a classic black tuxedo. "I feel like it is so classic, timeless, but also feels a little unique. I love it," Brown shared. "I always knew I wanted to take up space on my wedding day because there's so many times in life, especially as women, that we feel like we need to be smaller. On my wedding day, I didn't want to feel that at all. I feel like a princess, and I feel like that's exactly how you should feel on your wedding day." Woolard also expressed his excitement, telling People he had always envisioned the moment of seeing Brown walk down the aisle. "I have always had a very clear picture of standing up at the altar and looking out at the audience and really connecting with everybody," Woolard said. "But then seeing Hannah walk down, I think is something that I've always had a very clear picture of and how I would feel in that moment. And I just, as a man, knowing that I'm going to get married, I've always had that image in my mind." The couple, who chose to live apart before their wedding, shared that they're looking forward to moving in together and "putting down roots" in Nashville. "We're really focusing on making this house a home together," Brown shared. "Spending time with our families and just having a little bit of a slower pace for just a little bit." Brown first gained recognition on season 23 of "The Bachelor" in 2018, finishing in the top seven, before becoming the lead on season 15 of "The Bachelorette." Brown met Woolard on a dating app, and they announced their engagement in August 2023, sharing a sweet carousel of photos on Instagram, including one where they touched foreheads as Brown showed off her engagement ring. "so happy," she wrote in the caption at the time. "i love our steady love. ❤️." In addition to "The Bachelorette," Brown also competed on season 28 of " Dancing with the Stars," winning the competition with professional dancer Alan Bersten.
