Auburn basketball locks in visit with four-star forward Colben Landrew
The four-star forward will visit the Plains during a crucial football weekend.
While a lot of attention has been paid to Auburn's recruiting in football, basketball is getting a key future visit as well.
Four-star 2026 small forward Colben Landrew plans to visit Auburn during Iron Bowl weekend in November, per a report from On3's Joe Tipton. Landrew plays in Marietta, Georgia, for Wheeler High School, where he helped lead his team to a 7A GHSA State Championship. Landrew is an Alabama native from Alabaster. 247Sports has him as the No. 4 player in Georgia and No. 64 nationally. On3 has Landrew ranked No. 73 nationally.
Landrew is not the only small forward the Tigers are interested in for their 2026 recruiting class. They are one of many schools looking to add five-star small forward Anthony Thompson to their roster. Thompson is the No. 9 player nationally for 2026 and No. 3 at small forward. He is from Hudson, Ohio, and attends Western Reserve Academy. The top player in Ohio named the Tigers in his top 15 in April.
Auburn could be looking for help at the small forward or wing position in 2026-27. Keyshawn Hall transferred from UCF after the 2024-25 season and should be the Tigers' top wing player. Hall led the Big 12 in scoring this past season with 18.8 points per game. If Hall can replicate his production at Auburn in the SEC, he will be a top NBA Draft prospect next summer. Landrew and Thompson both would be big commitments to give the Tigers top talent at the small forward position.

Michigan football earns prediction for 5-star EDGE Carter Meadows in 2026
Michigan football continues to be on a recruiting heater, having received two commitments on Friday evening with plenty more to come. And now it appears that the Wolverines won't just add to the class, they'll potentially get a top overall prospect. The final official visit weekend of the summer cycle, tabbed Victors Weekend, saw some top-tier talent come through Ann Arbor. None bigger than 2026 Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga five-star edge rusher Carter Meadows, the 6-foot-6.5, 225-pound talent rated as the sixth-best player in the country, per On3. It's been a battle with several schools, namely Ohio State, but there's now a prediction that the maize and blue will win out. On Saturday morning, On3's Steve Wiltfong put in a prediction indicating that Meadows will wear a winged helmet when all is said and done. Meadows does not yet have a commitment date, so there's no clear idea of the timeline. Could he up and decide to shut things down at his leisure? It's certainly possible. The scouting report from 247Sports' Andrew Ivins: Spider-like pass rusher with exceptional physical specs, but one where the sack total has yet to match the big-league potential. Can give opposing offensive tackles fits just with his stride length as he can run the arc and right into the quarterback. Has spent much of prep career attacking from a 5-technique in a four-man front. Wins more times than not with his top-flight athleticism as he pairs adequate get-off with slippery inside-outside agility, but further technical development will dictate pressure rate on Saturdays and beyond as he's got the levers to chop and swipe his way around the corner like few others. Makes his fair share of stops in backside pursuit with his closing speed, but has to get better at crushing blocks and holding his turf if he's going to make a living as an every-down defender. Should be viewed as a high-upside edge player that has a chance to develop into an absolute game-wrecker at the Power Four level and then an early-round NFL Draft pick if he can soak up coaching and embrace the weight room. Might be worth a look in a hybrid off-the-ball role as spatial awareness fostered on the basketball court allows him to drop into zones and affect passing lanes. Here is the currently committed class, ranked No. 11 by both On3 and 247Sports, as of Friday evening: Michigan currently has two edge rushers committed in four-star McHale Blade and three-star Tariq Boney. The Wolverines may take up to four this cycle with Irmo (S.C.) Dutch Fork four-star Julian Walker also in strong contention.

Here's every transfer to commit to LSU baseball after College World Series title
Fresh off winning the eighth national championship in program history, LSU baseball went right back to work. Head coach Jay Johnson worked the transfer portal during the title run and ramped up recruiting efforts in the days following his second championship in Baton Rouge. The Tigers lose major contributors from the 2025 squad, including NCAA strikeouts leader Kade Anderson, as well as everyday infielders Daniel Dickinson and Jared Jones. The trio, along with right-handed pitcher Anthony Eyanson, are off the MLB Draft. Johnson returns key pieces to the team next year, including stalwart bullpen pitchers Casan Evans and Chase Shores. Zac Cowan is also expected to return for a fourth collegiate season, and all three are expected to compete for starting rotation spots. Johnson's staff stuck to its aggressive portal strategy from last season, which yielded Eyanson and Chris Stanfield. He's looking for the same high-level results from this year's haul. Here are the four players who committed to LSU so far in 2025. Danny Lachenmayer A left-handed reliever, Lachenmayer is coming off a standout season at North Dakota State. Through 38 innings, he posted a 2.37 ERA, 56 strikeouts and nine saves. He allowed just 10 earned runs as the Bison made a run to the 2025 NCAA Tournament. LSU's pitching rotation will experience shakeups with the departures of Anderson and Eyanson. Lachenmayer performed well in high-leverage situations and will compete for important innings. Seth Dardar Dardar adds 95 games of collegiate experience to a depleted LSU infield. The Mandeville, LA native spent two seasons at Columbia and one at Kansas State. In an early-season meeting against the Tigers in 2025, Dardar recorded two hits, including a home run. Over his career, Dardar boasts a .309 batting average, .409 on-base percentage and .592 slugging percentage. He finished 2025 with 60 hits, a year removed from a season-long injury. Brayden Simpson Simpson marked the first portal addition to LSU's 2026 roster. A rising senior, the third baseman fills an immediate need for the Tigers as Michael Braswell is out of eligibility, while also bringing a big bat at the plate. In 2025 at High Point, Simpson batted .389 with a .477 on-base percentage, 91 hits, 77 RBI and 22 home runs. He was named to the All-Big South first-team honors and finished No. 10 on D1 Baseball's Top 50 third basemen rankings. Ryler Smart Smart stayed in the SEC, coming over from Tennessee. As a true freshman in 2025, he didn't see any action, but he came in as a top-200 prospect, according to Perfect Game. The 2024 cycle's No. 183 overall player and No. 25 left-handed pitcher, Smart hails from Pearland, TX. The six-foot-four, 236-pounder provides a solid frame and a year of observing the country's best players to LSU pitching coach Nate Yeskie.
