Foul! Mets logo 'illegally' co-opted to boost Zohran Mamdani
The cap reads 'Zohran for NY Mayor,' with the interlocking 'NY' being the trademarked Mets logo.
Some sellers, such as Good Shirts, which was charging $29.95 Friday for the commie cap, claim on their websites that 'a portion of proceeds will be donated to Zohran Mamdani's campaign fund.'

Another online seller, Eletees, was charging $40.95 per cap and boasts it's 'perfect for Mets games, political rallies, or casual outings, offering a stylish way to show support for both the team and the candidate.'
Selling unauthorized merchandise that uses MLB team logos, names and other trademarks is considered trademark infringement, and the league has a long history of suing bogus sellers.
A baseball cap using the New York Mets' orange and blue colors and logo to boost Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani's mayoral campaign is being sold across the Internet – without permission from the club or Major League Baseball.

MLB said it was unaware of the Mamdani Mets' caps until notified by The Post and would review the matter. The Mets did not return messages.
Mamdani campaign spokesman Andrew Epstein said Mamdani is a Mets fan but has nothing to do with knockoff caps or its sellers. He also insisted proceeds from the cap sales aren't going to the campaign.
Eletees and Good Shirts did not return messages.

Socialism Won't ‘Go South'
Matthew Hennessey writes that capitalism allows human nature's self-interest to flourish to everyone's benefit ('Capitalism Needs Champions,' July 1). The system fosters competition and efficiency. Mr. Hennessey adds: 'I'd like to hear Mr. Mamdani explain how he plans to keep New Yorkers captive when his experiment goes south.' Capital is mobile, and we Southerners have watched it flow here for years, searching for better tax climes and politicians who respect businesses. Many economic failures exist in the North or out West in liberal bastions. Perhaps it's time to update that unfortunate phrase.

Noem defends conditions at ‘Alligator Alcatraz' detention facility
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem defended the conditions at the 'Alligator Alcatraz' facility in Florida after Democrats made claims of 'inhumane' treatment of the detained migrants. In an interview on NBC News's 'Meet the Press,' moderator Kristen Welker asked Noem about claims from Democrats that, in the facility, more than 30 people are 'stuffed into a jail cell' and that the detainees 'get their drinking water and they brush their teeth from the same place where they go to the bathroom.' 'Our detention centers at the federal level are held to a higher standard than most local or state centers and even federal prisons. The standards are extremely high,' Noem responded, noting the facility is 'state run.' Noem also pushed back on the term 'jail cells,' calling them, instead, 'secure facilities' that are 'held to the highest levels of what the federal government requires for detention facilities.' Noem suggested there is a double standard in the way Democrats react to the facilities under the Trump administration and under past Democratic administrations. 'I wish they would have said that back during the Biden administration and back when Democrats were in the White House and they were piling people on top of each other on cement floors and literally didn't have two feet to move,' Noem said about claims that the migrants are in 'cages' in the facility. 'They never did that, and that's why this politics has to end.' Noem said she would take cameras in the facility to 'show people what these facilities look like.' 'Because if you compare them to what happened under the Biden administration and under the Obama administration, these centers are at the highest levels,' she continued. 'And they're even higher than what our federal prison standards are or state or local often are.'
