Dax Shepard lets his kids curse 'when it's called for'

Dax Shepard allows his kids to swear.
The 50-year-old actor - who has daughters Lincoln, 12, and Delta, ten, with actress Kristen Bell - has revealed that he has no issues with swearing in front of his children, and he doesn't mind them cursing "when it's called for" either.
Dax said on the Armchair Expert podcast: "I fully swear in front of my kids. They are allowed to swear, not with impunity, but when it's called for, and they land it, and it's in the house and not out at a restaurant, it's OK.
"My defence of it is, I just told the girls, like, 'Hey, these are noises that come out of your mouth, and you assign what they mean to you.'"
Dax also acknowledged that his kids are exposed to curse words at school.
He added: "You just don't want them to say it in front of a teacher."
Meanwhile, Kristen previously revealed that she tries to set a positive example for her kids.
The Hollywood star explained that she and her husband try to deal with their problems in the healthiest way possible, so that their children can learn from their example.
Kristen - who has been married to Dax since 2013 - told People: "We always make up in front of them if anyone gets snarky or frustrated or fights, which we all do.
"We do not have the makeup, our conflict resolution, be behind closed doors. Even if at dinner, let's say, one of us is frustrated and is a little snarky and then we go to bed. We'll apologise to each other the next morning.
"Then we will apologise and make amends to each other in front of the kids so that they can see how conflict resolution actually happens."
Despite this, Kristen and Dax initially tried to adopt a hands-off approach to parenting.
The actress told TODAY: "When we had our first child, we said we wanted to be 'second child parents,' and we made an agreement that if she wanted to do something, as long as it didn't require a trip to the hospital, she'd be allowed to do it."

Hulk Hogan didn't meet his grandchildren prior to his death

Hulk Hogan never met his grandchildren before his death. The wrestling legend passed away aged 71 last month after suffering a heart attack at his home in Florida and his son-in-law Steven Oleksy has revealed that Hulk showed "no interest" in meeting his estranged daughter Brooke's twins Oliver Andrew and Molly Gene when approached following their births in January. Former NHL player Oleksy told People: "I sent text messages once again to kind of gauge where he was at, but there was no interest." Oleksy explained how he and Brooke moved from Michigan to Florida to be closer to Hulk - whose real name was Terry Bollea - as he "was getting older" and suffering with his health. He said: "She was there for every surgery leading up to the last two years. She would fly down on her own dime, take care of her dad, and it just made a lot of sense. "No one understood his body, procedures, medications and everything else more than my wife." Oleksy explained that the family will remain in Florida following the WWE icon's passing as the state has grown to feel like "home" for them. The ex-ice hockey star said: "We've built a beautiful life here together." Brooke, 37, posted a lengthy tribute to her father on Instagram earlier this week and used her post to "clear a few things up" regarding the pair's estrangement. The realty star wrote: "It was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand. My father was confiding in me about issues weighing on his heart, both personal and business. I offered to be a life raft in whatever capacity he needed. I told him he had my support. I begged him to rest, to take care of himself." Brooke - Hulk's eldest child from his marriage to first wife Linda Hogan - added: "We had been through almost 25 surgeries together, and then all of a sudden he didn't want me at surgeries…everything started getting covered in a thick veil. It was like there was a force field around him that I couldn't get through. (sic)" She explained how the pair's relationship ultimately collapsed due to a series of "respectful disagreements". Brooke said: "He was telling me these things, being so vulnerable with me and heard my pleas, then suddenly something shifted, and he made a choice to walk the path that clearly tore at his spirit. I felt a disconnect. What followed were respectful disagreements that took an emotional toll on me."

Logie Awards: Top 10 of the most memorable Logies moments ever, featuring Kylie Minogue and Muhammad Ali

When you place hundreds of TV personalities in a room filled with cameras and alcohol, there's sure to be some noteworthy performances on and off the stage. From hilarious speeches, to shocking outfits, and everything in between, here are 10 of the most memorable moments in Logies history ahead of Sunday night's awards. Look at moy (2004) Anywhere Kath & Kim go, laughs typically follow. The irreverent pair of bogans, played by Gina Riley and Jane Turner, made a habit of popping up at the Logies in their eponymous show's heyday to drop new colloquialisms and not-safe-for-work one-liners. Delivering hilarious joint speeches at the lectern, and reversing fashion trends on the red carpet, the foxy ladies' most noteworthy showing was perhaps when they performed choreography to the 70's tune Lady Bump, but with a Logies twist. Viewers were treated to a live 'look at moy' moment, Kim's conspicuous G-string placement, and four left feet. A bout, a boy (1979) The late Bert Newton briefly wished he could fly like a butterfly far away from special guest Muhammad Ali, regretfully quipping 'I like the boy' as his special guest presented him with the Gold Logie. Unaware of the potential racial connotations of his remark, Newton panned to the awestruck crowd, and back to the champ, who questioned whether he had said 'Roy or boy'. Leaving the national treasure with his signature turn of phrase, Ali teased, 'I love the award, I like your style, but this gift is so cheap, I won't see you for a while'. Butt of a joke (2024) After Karl Stefanovic famously referenced his former wife had the 'the best a*** I've ever seen' in 2011 upon collecting his Most Popular Presenter award, Gold Logie winner Larry Emdur decided to put his own spin on the joke years later, Referencing a challenging start to his media career, Emdur recalled the moment he told his late father, 'I'm trying, but there's so many a***holes in this business... so many'. True to his word, the popular Channel 7 star kept his pre-ceremony promise of tattooing his fellow nominees' initials on his behind should he win, which he did live on The Morning Show the next day. And who could forget Stefanovic's infamous morning after appearance on the Today show in 2009 while he appeared to be still drunk from the night before. Logie-motion (1988) Triple threat Kylie Minogue solidified her standing as one of the country's most talented performers when she became the first person to win four Logies in a single year, and the youngest to claim the coveted Gold Logie at just 19. Among her victories were Best Actress, for her portrayal of Charlene Robinson on long-running soap Neighbours, and Most Popular Music Video for The Loco-Motion. However, Kylie lost a little love at the 2014 ceremony after fans and critics accused her of lip-syncing her single I Was Gonna Cancel, with Myf Warhurst claiming it 'looked like it was performed at my high school camp in 1989'. Steve Wranglin (2003) Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin brought the animal kingdom to the centre of Melbourne's Crown Palladum ballroom, and nearly gave host Eddie McGuire a heartache when he emerged from a trap door in the stage holding a large snake. Tumbling off stage, the late icon inadvertently thrust the reptile in the direction of sports presenter Tim Webster who appeared to cop a nasty bite while seated at his table. A nervous McGuire quipped, 'I just saw it bite Tim Webster on the groin, and I can tell you, I'm not going to suck the poison out, Tim.' I'm an embarrassed celebrity, get me outta here! (2015) Few can say they've experienced not one but two regrettable Logies moments, but Julia Morris has never been one to shy away from attention. In 2015, Morris regrettably announced the winner of Best Entertainment Program without celebrating any of the nominees. 'Did I forget to talk about the nominees? It's live. Don't tell anyone. We can cut it out later,' she said, but it was too late. However, the blunder was topped the following year when she gave a tutorial on how to be a 'great presenter,' and upon attempting a spin to showcase her bespoke outfit, fell head over heels onto the stage and exposed her behind to the room. A vehicle for change (2019) Dylan Alcott would have had plenty more fans after claiming his Most Popular New Talent award than before he accepted it. The former tennis pro admitted he did not rate his chances of topping the category until made aware of a 'ramp out the back' , delivering a powerful speech about representation in the community. Telling viewers he 'never saw anybody like me' on TV as a kid, Alcott implored networks and the population to give people with disabilities a fair go, promising 'they won't disappoint.' Boom or bust (1995) It was the dress so 'nice', Susie Elelman wore it twice! The former model, TV presenter and ambitious dresser turned heads for the wrong reasons in 1995 when she attended the awards in a black gown that showcased more of her cleavage than many were ready for. Later revealing the backlash inspired her to become healthier, Elelman dusted off the dress for another run in 2014, but the fashion police blared their sirens once again. Petty in Pink (2006) When you give an unpredictable comedian a stage, you better throw out the script. Late American icon Joan Rivers accepted a bespoke pink Logie from Richard Wilkins as a special guest, only to toss 'the ugliest award I've ever seen' to the floor. The riotous figure riffed with Wilkins over her confusion at being invited to the ceremony. And the room hung off every word. 'They don't know who the s**t I am. I don't know why the f*** I'm here. I know him (gesturing at Wilkins) and I know you're all famous (gazing at the audience) and I hope you all win,' she dribbled. Winners are grinners (2019) A torn Tom Gleeson accepted his Gold Logie in controversial circumstances after actively campaigning against the very institution that is the Logies in the weeks prior. 'I am in a tricky spot, because I like it, and I hate it,' he said upon collecting the top gong, wine in hand. With the entire room in on the joke, the quiz show host declared, 'Turns out I'm just really good at manipulating the media to get people to do things for me'.

Jason Momoa believes it's his 'destiny' to tell the story of Hawaii

Jason Momoa believes it's his "destiny" to tell the story of Hawaii. The Aquaman star explores his Hawaiian heritage in new Apple TV+ series Chief of War - which tells the story of the unification of the islands at the turn of the 18th century - and he is convinced the stars have aligned to bring him to a place in his career where he could show the lives of his ancestors onscreen. He told PEOPLE: "I feel like this whole thing has chosen me in a way, like this is my destiny," he says. "I have no idea how I got to all this, but we're here, and I'm very grateful. I'm living my dream doing what I love to do. To play my ancestors is such a responsibility. It's scary and exciting." Jason added: "My dad is a coach at an outrigger canoe club, which is where I learned how to surf. "Just this morning, the sand pulled back and revealed massive petroglyphs [ancient carvings] right in the place where I grew up. It's kind of insane. I've never experienced that before." The actor also got the chance to write and direct while working on the show and he has insisted he's finally get the chance to show a different side to himself. He told the Metro newspaper: "It's my heart and soul. This has been in me my whole life. I'm ready. Put it on me. " I feel like I've been mismanaged and people don't really know who I am, since the beginning, so now I finally get a chance to [show] 'No, I can direct and write'." Jason went on to applaud bosses at Apple for taking a chance on a show about Hawaii's history, adding: "It's a bold thing to do. "I think Apple had a lot of trust in us, because there's nothing to prove it against. No one's ever heard the language. There's a lot of actors that have never been seen before. It's a lot ... "There's a lot of change and a lot to bring back of a culture that was … Our language is banned from us and we're getting it back. A lot of our art … We're part of America and I don't think anyone really knows anything about us. "[We] really have to celebrate Apple for just taking on something that's this big, and putting the trust in me ... "
