Clashes erupt between Palestinians, settlers in Beita, South of Nablus
Nablus – SABA: Clashes broke out on Friday evening between Palestinian youths and Israeli settlers in the Qamas area of Beita town, located south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank. The confrontations erupted following a settler attack on an agricultural shack in Qamas, near Mount Sabih, a flashpoint area frequently targeted by settler violence. According to the Palestinian Safa News Agency, local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces fired live bullets and illumination flares during the clashes, which followed the residents' response to the settler assault. Earlier on Friday morning, three Palestinians were injured after being physically assaulted by settlers, while eight others suffered from tear gas inhalation when occupation forces attacked the town of Beita. These incidents are part of an ongoing escalation in the West Bank, where settlers, under the protection of Israeli forces, continue to launch attacks on Palestinian communities amid heightened tensions due to the ongoing war on Gaza. Gaza Rights Center: 375 Palestinians killed in three days amid escalating Israeli assault
Gaza – SABA: The Palestinian Center for Human Rights in Gaza reported on Friday that Israeli occupation forces have killed 375 Palestinians over the past three days, in what it described as a 'dangerous and accelerating military escalation,' with an average of five fatalities per hour. In a statement, the center said that the Israeli military has intensified its crimes over the past 72 hours, including mass killings and the annihilation of families, as part of the ongoing genocide. The center condemned what it called 'the grave and rapid Israeli military escalation and the collective killings and extermination of civilian families,' noting that most of the victims were civilians forcibly displaced into areas comprising less than 15% of Gaza's total area due to ongoing bombing and evacuation orders. The statement detailed that intense Israeli shelling has targeted homes, tents of displaced families, shelters, and civilian gatherings across Gaza, resulting in 375 deaths and more than 1,569 injuries—averaging five Palestinian deaths and 22 injuries per hour. The center noted that women and children made up the majority of the casualties, with many families completely wiped out. It documented deliberate bombings of densely populated areas, particularly western Gaza City, where hundreds of thousands had sought refuge after successive displacement orders from the eastern and northern parts of the city. According to the statement, the pattern of attacks shows a deliberate Israeli strategy of forcing displacement and then targeting civilians in areas they fled to, as part of a broader campaign of terror and genocide, aimed at pushing residents toward southern Gaza and ultimately emptying Gaza and northern Gaza of its population. The center also warned that Israel is using Gaza's civilians as hostages for political and negotiating leverage, particularly amid ongoing discussions regarding a possible ceasefire. It called on the international community to take urgent action to stop these crimes, provide immediate protection for civilians, and end the culture of impunity, which it said is enabled by double standards and international complicity. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has waged a campaign of genocide in Gaza, marked by killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, in open defiance of international appeals and binding orders by the International Court of Justice to halt such actions.
