Fallon Sherrock to take a break from darts in 2026
The 30-year-old is the leading woman in the game, having made history in 2019 by winning two matches at the World Championship.
She has suffered from health problems for many years and has admitted her game is currently being affected.
Sherrock, who does not have Tour card and competes in the Women's Series, believes the "sky is the limit" after a rest.
"I feel like it will be my B-game [at the moment] and I don't know if I am able to get my A-game out," Sherrock told YouTube channel Online Darts.
"If I'm going to have a year out next year I want to make a bang this year. I want to try to get to everything even if I'm not playing 100%.
"I need to sort myself out, get myself well and then the sky is the limit.
"All I want to do is practise at home for a couple of hours a day and I can't do that at the moment, so it is difficult.
"I've had to pull out of some exhibitions recently because I haven't had the stamina.
"I have had to narrow down what I am playing in at the moment, and that hurts because I love darts.
"Fingers crossed that in a couple of years' time I'll be alright and back to winning well."
Meanwhile, the Republic of Ireland team of William O'Connor and Keane Barry have been drawn alongside Gibraltar and China in next week's World Cup of Darts.
Reigning champions England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have all beed seeded through to the second round at the 40-nation tournament in Frankfurt.

PGA Tour officials concerned after Rory McIlroy opts to skip opening round of FedEx Cup playoffs
The playoffs are made up of three rounds through August, starting with the Tour's 70 top-ranked players competing at the FedEx St Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Tennessee. The top 50 progress to the second round, the BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland, before the top 30 players contest the Tour Championship shootout at East Lake Golf Club, Georgia. The quadruple points on offer through the first two events offer players the chance to quickly climb the rankings. But McIlroy, who is currently second in the FedEx Cup standings behind Scottie Scheffler after winning the Masters and the Players this year, is already assured of a place in the top 30 and so has chosen to rest rather than take part in the opening tournament. McIlroy's decision comes after the PGA Tour removed the much-maligned 'starting strokes' from the Tour Championship, in which the top ranked players were rewarded by starting the tournament several shots under par. This season, all 30 players will start the finale on level par, removing any incentive for McIlroy to play in the opening playoff round beyond the financial rewards – there is around £2.7m up for the winner – and the five-time major winner is doing OK in that regard. McIlroy signalled his intentions a year ago, as soon as starting strokes were set to be abolished, saying he doesn't get on well with TPC Southwind. But Peter Malnati, a player director on the PGA Tour Policy Board, said he was 'very concerned' by McIlroy's decision to skip the event, which means the FedEx Cup playoffs begin without one of the game's biggest stars when the remaining field of 69 players get underway on Thursday. Asked if the Tour would look to change the rules to prevent something similar happening in the future, Malnati added: 'I think there is stuff in the works and I'll leave it at that.' Fellow player director Webb Simpson empathised with McIlroy's decision, having done something similar in 2020 when he chose to sit out the second round in order to rest for the Tour Championship. 'I think it's too hard of a thing to make guys have to play, we're still a sport where you can play when you want to play,' Simpson said. 'I knew I couldn't fall more than one spot and I thought losing one stroke at East Lake was worth a week of rest because I was toast. I don't know Rory's reason but I totally get it. It's a hard thing to fix.'

Speaking to co-host Brooke Schofield, Tana didn't hold back about how badly the medication affected her, despite shedding 6lbs in just two days. 'So I shot up Mounjaro,' she began. 'And this is the biggest public service announcement to the whole wide world to never, ever, ever do it. I have been dying this week. Like, dying. Like, crawling on the floor.' Everything you need to know about fat jabs Weight loss jabs are all the rage as studies and patient stories reveal they help people shed flab at almost unbelievable rates, as well as appearing to reduce the risk of serious diseases. Wegovy – a modified version of type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic – and Mounjaro are the leading weight loss injections used in the UK. Wegovy, real name semaglutide, has been used on the NHS for years while Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a newer and more powerful addition to the market. Mounjaro accounts for most private prescriptions for weight loss and is set to join Wegovy as an NHS staple this year. How do they work? The jabs work by suppressing your appetite, making you eat less so your body burns fat for energy instead and you lose weight. They do this my mimicking a hormone called GLP-1, which signals to the brain when the stomach is full, so the drugs are officially called GLP-1 receptor agonists. GPs generally do not prescribe the drugs for weight loss. Private prescribers offer the jabs, most commonly Mounjaro, to anyone who is obese (BMI of 30+) or overweight (BMI 25-30) with a weight-related health risk. Private pharmacies have been rapped for handing them out too easily and video calls or face-to-face appointments are now mandatory to check a patient is being truthful about their size and health. Are there any risks? Yes – side effects are common but most are relatively mild. Around half of people taking the drug experience gut issues, including sickness, bloating, acid reflux, constipation and diarrhoea. Dr Sarah Jarvis, GP and clinical consultant at said: 'One of the more uncommon side effects is severe acute pancreatitis, which is extremely painful and happens to one in 500 people.' TOTTENHAM'S £1.2billion stadium is home to a world-first project, little-known by football fans. Today, the 400-year-old building plays host to The Tottenham Experience, featuring the OOP Gallery - a contemporary art gallery which hosts a Spurs exhibition, beloved by fans on matchday. Speaking on The Overlap, brought to you by SkyBet, Levy revealed: "There's a very old building called Warmington House. "It's about 400 years old. Yep [it's listed]. There's an snap of the old White Hart Lane gates, as Levy ramped up fans' excitement by claiming they were currently in the process of being restored with a view to bringing them to the new stadium. That's not the only bit of their old ground which features at the world-leading stadium, though. During Levy's tour, the owner revealed some of the floor within the arena is made up from crushed concrete from White Hart Lane, smoothed and repurposed to inject a little history into the brand, spanking new ground. In the open and honest interview, Levy admitted he believes he will finally be given the credit he deserves for his role in transforming Tottenham only after he's gone. As well as leading the construction of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he has transformed the club into one of the most profitable in the Premier League. But his stewardship has also been met with backlash in some sections, with Spurs fans leading "Levy Out" protests last season.
