Fallon Sherrock and Cameron Menzies 'split up' as darts duo call quits after four years

In amongst all of the recent excitement around the World Matchplay, sad reports of darts duo Cameron Menzies and Fallon Sherrock breaking up have emerged Darts star Vincent van der Voort has alleged that Cameron Menzies and Fallon Sherrock have split up. Menzies and Sherrock have been an item since their relationship was first revealed in 2021. ‌ The pair's romance was one of the most unique stories on the oche. Menzies has previously revealed the pair fell in love over a KFC, after they had both competed at the Modus Series. ‌ Four years on from the feast, Van de Voort claims love is no longer in the air. The Dutch player, who has previously ranked as high as No. 21 on the PDC Order of Merit, claims Sherrock recently told him about their separation. ‌ Speaking on his podcast Darts Draait Doort, presenter Damian Vlottes said of the couple: "They broke up — you told me." Not denying what his co-presenter said, Van der Voort replied: "True, yes. But what else do you want me to say about it? I don't work for a gossip magazine. I don't know the exact reason either. She told me, and I didn't ask why." Mirror Sport has contacted Sherrock and Menzies' representatives for comment on their situation. The Dutch darts star claimed there had been some strain in their relationship many months before their split. He mentioned a specific situation during last year's UK Open, where Sherrock was unhappy with the Ayrshire player. Van der Voort said: "He'd fallen asleep on the sofa while he had to play the next day. That wasn't good. But again — it suited him." He also said that as a result of this moment, Sherrock left Menzies behind at the venue in Minehead. It is the latest challenge for the pair, who have both had a tough time on the oche in recent months. During the World Championship, Menzies was seen holding back the tears after the Alexandra Palace crowd turned on him during his defeat by American star Leonard Gates. Sherrock, who was seen in the crowd during that match, also lost in the first round to Ryan Meikle. ‌ At the Women's World Matchplay Championship, Menzies, despite being in Blackpool to compete in the men's events, was not in the crowd to watch the Queen of the Palace lose 6-5 to Lisa Ashton in the final. Last month, Sherrock also announced her intention to take a year out of darts in 2026 to focus on her health. She has been struggling with kidney issues since 2014, when she gave birth to her son Rory. Her plan is to qualify for the Grand Slam and the 2025 World Championships before taking a break in 2026. Sherrock recently told Online Darts:"I just need to sort myself out. I need to get myself well again, and then once I do, the sky is the limit because I know I can do it. I know how many hours I've got to put in, what standard I've got to play. So I can do it; I just need the energy for it first."

Fallon Sherrock reveals pub player gripe as Queen of the Palace gets honest about taking on men

The Queen of the Palace was straight to the point as she discussed the opening of more doors for female stars Inspirational Fallon Sherrock reckons opportunities for women in darts should be expanded with pub players ahead of them in the UK Open pecking order. ‌ The Queen of the Palace was the one who famously smashed the glass ceiling with her Ally Pally success over Ted Evetts at the Worlds. ‌ Sherrock has helped massively to forge scenarios such as today's eight-player Betfred Women's World Matchplay which takes place this afternoon prior to the men's final between Luke Littler and James Wade. ‌ However, she wants to see more chances afforded to the ladies with the UK Open a particular bugbear as she said: 'I actually prefer playing the men to the women. I just feel there's less pressure on me because I just feel like people expect me to do more than what I do, if that makes sense. 'You could probably give some women some UK Open spots. That's what I think. Everyone else has their own opinions, but you're always looking for spaces and you're giving it to people who go to their local pubs and playing and stuff. And I'm like: Give some to the women. Just two spaces or something. How good would it be to see, for example, like the best women at the moment. 'I mean, obviously there's only eight [in Women's Matchplay] at the moment. I'd love to see more because there are other women that could put on a good performance and stuff. And there's women just underneath that have just missed out who are like quality players. Just expand it a little bit, so we're not just playing like one afternoon. ‌ 'Maybe put it in with the men. In between. Give us some opportunity just to showboat ourselves because, unless you know it's on a Sunday, people don't know about it. And again, the format's quite short. I feel like I still am helping push the sport a bit further, but I also think because all the other women are playing better now and getting more exposure, it's opening us more opportunities to get the spots as well. So I don't feel it's just me.' Sherrock will take a break from the game next year for health issues, but feels good for Blackpool and said: 'That's obviously a difficult decision for me anyway, but at the moment, I'm doing okay. So I'm going to be playing longer than I anticipated like now. ‌ "It's just touch and go as to when I'm going to need time out. But at the moment, I'm doing okay to kind of just keep playing. I've been eating better and stuff like that. I'm very happy because, I mean, I could have just given up and just gone downhill completely. I'm happy that I've just kept going and kept positive and just keep looking to the future. I've set myself goals and they're the ones that I want to achieve rather than just giving up. 'I feel great. I'm excited. I'm not tired. It's not like I'm choosing it. It [break] will happen. I can't stop it happening as much as I want it to, but I've just got to keep positive, keep playing, just keep living in the moment, just not thinking of anything negative.' Beau Greaves is now the girl ruling the roost and Sherrock said: 'I can just go under the radar. When I was at the World Championships the first time, no one really knew who I was anyway, I wasn't like the one of the top lot winning everything anyway. 'You just get kind of thrown in the deep end and you don't really understand. It's like a shock to the system, because no one expects the world just to explode the way it does because you kind of assume it's going to be a kind of big thing, but you don't realise how massive it's going to be. Then when something new happens, the world just goes mental. 'It [women's darts] will go absolutely massive and everyone will be like: Oh, yeah, Fallon and Beau were the ones that were winning it and all that, and people will remember.'

Fallon Sherrock to take a break from darts in 2026

Fallon Sherrock plans to take "a year out" in 2026 as she tries to rediscover her best form. The 30-year-old is the leading woman in the game, having made history in 2019 by winning two matches at the World Championship. She has suffered from health problems for many years and has admitted her game is currently being affected. Sherrock, who does not have Tour card and competes in the Women's Series, believes the "sky is the limit" after a rest. "I feel like it will be my B-game [at the moment] and I don't know if I am able to get my A-game out," Sherrock told YouTube channel Online Darts. "If I'm going to have a year out next year I want to make a bang this year. I want to try to get to everything even if I'm not playing 100%. "I need to sort myself out, get myself well and then the sky is the limit. "All I want to do is practise at home for a couple of hours a day and I can't do that at the moment, so it is difficult. "I've had to pull out of some exhibitions recently because I haven't had the stamina. "I have had to narrow down what I am playing in at the moment, and that hurts because I love darts. "Fingers crossed that in a couple of years' time I'll be alright and back to winning well." Meanwhile, the Republic of Ireland team of William O'Connor and Keane Barry have been drawn alongside Gibraltar and China in next week's World Cup of Darts. Reigning champions England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have all beed seeded through to the second round at the 40-nation tournament in Frankfurt.
