Avex Music Group and S10 Report Early 2025 Chart Successes
The company, led by recently-appointed CEO Brandon Silverstein, has a roster of songwriters, producers and artists across pop and hip-hop. The company's publishing talent has had a seemingly big year thus far.

Drake's 'What Did I Miss?' reached No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 and produced by Avex producer Elyas. Another Avex producer, Elkan, produced Drake's 'Nokia' and was a producer on Travis Scott's JackBoys 2, which earned a No. 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and a No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, respectively. Other chart highlights of the year for Avex included Tate McRae's hits 'Sports Car' and 'Revolving Door,' which were produced and co-written by Grant Boutin. The songwriter and producer also contributed Don Toliver and Doja Cat's F1 soundtrack song 'Lose My Mind.'
'It's exciting to see the hard work of our artists, writers, and producers resonate at such a high level across both the charts and the global stage,' Silverstein said in a release Wednesday. 'In just a few short months since forming AMG, our artists have seen extraordinary success on the charts and on the road.'
On the International front, AMG touted their upcoming J-pop boy group One Or Eight, who have started to gain traction internationally. They recently became the first J-pop boy group to land on the U.S. Mediabase Top 40 with their single 'DSTM,' which is reinterpretation of Rihanna's hit 'Don't Stop the Music.'
AMG also highlighted XG, the global girl group under Avex subsidiary XGALX, who recently made their Coachella debut. The seven-member girl group, who debuted in 2022, recently spoke with THR about the experience. 'We were so grateful and honored to be able to perform [at Coachella],' member Maya told THR.
The company alongside Silverstein's S10 manages artists including Myke Towers, who is currently on a global tour. S10 also expanded its management operations, adding three new undisclosed artists.

"As he immerses himself in his clients' worlds, he begins to form genuine bonds that blur the lines between performance and reality," the synopsis adds. "Confronting the moral complexities of his work, he rediscovers purpose, belonging and the quiet beauty of human connection." The trailer opens with Fraser's character being shown performing in a series of over-the-top costumes, clearly miserable as he hopes for a different type of acting gig to come his way — only to be give the opportunity to "sell emotion," in the form of "playing roles in clients' lives" to "help them connect to what's missing." "I'm just an actor. I don't know how to help people," Fraser's character says, before he is told the agency needs "a token white guy" for the job. While he is originally hesitant about the idea, Fraser's character eventually steps in as a father figure to a girl named Mia — which begins with a tense first meeting, but evolves into something bigger. "Well, this is amazing," Fraser's character says as he and Mia tour an aquarium-inspired art exhibit, to which she responds, "It's cool ... but it's fake." "You know, sometimes it's okay to pretend," he tells her. Aside from Fraser, Rental Family's cast includes Takehiro Hira, Mari Yamamoto, Shannon Gorman and Akira Emoto. The film was written by director Hikari and Stephen Blahut, and produced by Hikari plus Eddie Vaisman, Julia Lebedev and Shin Yamaguchi. The movie will have its premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, and marks Fraser's first starring film role since 2022's The Whale — which earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor, his first Oscar. "I started in this business 30 years ago, and things, they didn't come easily to me, but there was a facility that I didn't appreciate at the time until it stopped," he said during his acceptance speech. This retro camcorder upgrades Super 8 film cameras with modern conveniences
Camp Snap, a brand known for its budget-friendly screen-free digital cameras, has announced its first video camera. The new Camp Snap CS-8's design was inspired by the Super 8mm film cameras released by companies like Kodak and Canon in the '60s and '70s. Its functionality is similarly limited and streamlined to make the CS-8 user-friendly, and while it trades film stock for an SD card, like the compact film cameras from decades ago, it lacks a screen so there's no immediate way to review the footage you've shot. The CS-8 is currently available for preorder through Camp Snap's website for $149 (full retail pricing will be $199) with shipping expected sometime in mid-September 2025. That's more than twice the price of Camp Snap's $69.95 digital still cameras, but much cheaper than Kodak's own Super 8 camera revival which will set you back $5,495. Camp Snap's CS-8 has a bit more retro charm than Kodak's, but its capabilities are far more limited. A trigger on the CS-8's handle is used to start and stop recording, while a pair of buttons near the camera's viewfinder zooms in and out. There's a dial for selecting different aspect ratios including 16:9 widescreen, 4:3 which more closely resembles vintage home movies, plus 1:1 and 9:16 for capturing videos destined for social media. A second dial can be used to activate several 'vintage-inspired filters' such as faded sepia, grainy analog, and even a black and white effect. There are no details on what the rechargeable CS-8's battery life is like, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, which tested the camera at Disneyland, the camera is capable of recording video at up to 4K resolutions, depending on the aspect ratio selected. Analog meters located on either side of the camera display its remaining battery life and recording capacity, and videos are captured to an included 4GB SD card which can hold about five hours of footage. That's more than enough capacity for reshoots if you're worried the moments you captured weren't as magical as they could be, but the lack of a screen means your videos are a complete mystery until you connect the camera (or its SD card) to a computer to offload the footage. Camp Snap is positioning the CS-8 as a way to rekindle 'the magic of filmmaking where you stay in the moment and experience the surprise later.' Hopefully it's all good surprises.
