Neena Gupta Admits To Feeling ‘Romantic' At The Age Of 66
Neena Gupta will next be seen in Anurag Basu's Metro...In Dino. The film also stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan.
Veteran actress Neena Gupta stars opposite Anupam Kher in their upcoming film Metro…In Dino. The movie weaves together multiple narratives, with Neena and Anupam starring as an older couple, capturing the beauty of mature romance on screen."
In an interview with India Today, Neena Gupta shared her thoughts about love beyond 50. The actress said, 'I agree, I still feel romantic! Romance is not just about sex or attraction. It's about feeling good."
Claiming that feeling good comes in many forms, she added, 'I romance with my clothes. I feel great when I dress up. Back in the day, I'd never worn a bikini; the household that I came from didn't have that culture in Delhi. But when I moved to Bombay and lived alone, I'd wear a bikini in my bathroom, stand in front of the mirror, and feel happy; there were no mobile phones then. That, too, is romance. Romancing yourself. But feeling good has no age limit."
In the same conversation, Neena Gupta expressed her admiration for director Anurag Basu. The actress said, 'I didn't even know he would offer me something. But when he did, I told him — don't even tell me what my role is, I'll do it. That's how much I wanted to work with him, especially after Life in a… Metro."
Metro… In Dino features an ensemble cast of Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Ali Fazal, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Sara Ali Khan and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Directed by Anurag Basu, the film features music by Pritam and marks another collaboration between the composer and the director, 5 years after Ludo.
Metro… In Dino is presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series, in association with Anurag Basu Productions. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu, the film is set to release on July 4, 2025.
