Abergele Harriers record impressive times at 5k events
Last Tuesday (June 3), Steven and Sean McCormack travelled to Liverpool to take part in the Mystery Park 5k.
Steven ran it in 18:06, his fastest time for a number of years.
Sean also had a great run, finishing second V60 in 19:38.
The following evening, Rachel Shipley and Darren Blazier travelled to Gwynedd to take on the hilly Llanrug 5k, a race which also incorporated the North Wales Championships.
Darren finished in 19:07 for 34th in the race, also taking a bronze in his age group in the championships.
Rachel ran 20:01 for 53rd and sixth lady, giving her silver in her age group in the championships.
Saturday (June 7) saw Anthony Howe travel to Lincolnshire to take part in the Cleethorpes Parkrun, finishing 240th of the 336 runners in 32:29.

Match near Glasgow to honour two players 'taken too early'
Former Arthurlie and Pollok players will pull on their boots for the Iain Ashcroft Memorial Cup which is set to kick off at 2pm on Sunday, July 27 at Dunterlie Park in Barrhead. The most outstanding player on the day will receive the Steven Convery Man of the Match Award. The who's of who of past teams will take each other on in memory of Iain who passed away age 60 in 2023 and Steven who died age 52 last November. 'Both of these great players died too soon but have left supporters of these two great clubs with unforgettable memories. 'In the humble surroundings of Dunterlie and Newlandsfield they thrilled and entertained junior football supporters when the game was, arguably, at its peak. 'Iain Ashcroft and Steven Convery were both taken far too early but Sunday isn't a day for tears, it's a day to celebrate the two wonderful men alongside friends with their families, friends and former teammates.' Ex-Celtic winger Gary Mackay-Steven finds new club
The 34-year-old spent two and a half years at Parkhead, scoring 10 goals and assisting 11 across 62 appearances. He departed for Aberdeen in 2017 and has since enjoyed spells at New York City and Heart of Midlothian. "Ross County FC are delighted to announce the signing of Gary Mackay-Steven on a one-year deal," a club statement read. "Gary is an experienced winger with over 400 career matches with teams such as Celtic, Aberdeen, New York City FC and most recently Kilmarnock. He is familiar with the club, having come through our youth ranks before joining Liverpool at the age of 17." County were recently relegated to the Scottish Championship after losing their survival play-off to Livingston. Manager Don Cowie expressed his delight at securing Mackay-Steven's services as his team bid to return to the top-flight at the first time of asking: "Gary is another great addition to the group as he makes his return to the club," he said.
