A woman was left baffled and wondering whether she'd done something wrong after she decided to wear a bikini to her granddaughter's pool party and her daughter was furious
A woman has shared the humiliation she felt after her daughter made scathing comments to her about her decision to wear her bikini at the age of 67, despite the fact that her granddaughter specifically encouraged her to. The woman explained that it was her granddaughter's 19th birthday, and she was celebrating by having a pool party with her pals. "After she picked out an outfit for herself, she tried to pick out an outfit for me," she explained, sharing that all the options were "two pieces".
At first, she shared that she'd feel more comfortable in a swimsuit, but her granddaughter encouraged her by explaining that her friends were "not judgmental," and no one would bat an eyelid.

She also said that she was "flattered" her granddaughter thought she should be wearing a two-piece, and she also wanted to let her know that she doesn't have to "hide herself when she gets older," taking the opportunity to instil some body positivity into her.

However, her granddaughter's mum didn't see it that way and was furious at her mother for wearing a two-piece bikini.
She penned: "After the party, Brigitte told me it was inappropriate for a woman my age to wear that in front of a bunch of college-aged youngsters. She noted that she herself wore a one-piece instead of a two-piece. Am I the a**hole?"

In the comments, people defended her decision to wear a two-piece bikini. One person wrote: "The birthday girl picked it out and wanted you to wear the bikini.
"As long as you and the birthday girl were comfortable, that's all that matters. No one ever died from seeing an older woman in a bikini. Your daughter needs to get over herself and her judgement".

Another agreed, penning: "This. I think a lot of my generation grew up being uncomfortable and worried about what other people think of them, and if people feel confident and happy, that's all that matters.
"I probably would feel uncomfortable seeing my mother in a bikini, but that's partly because I was raised Catholic and partly my own issues.
"Everyone should just try to find what makes them happy and leave everyone else alone. Feels like a lot of people aren't happy and just want to bring everyone else down to their level.

"I applaud the younger generations for being open and comfortable with who they are. I'll admit it scares me".
Somebody else shared that they thought the mum must've been "jealous," saying: "Sounds to me like the grandmother looked better in her bikini than the mother in her one piece, making a mother jealous because all the young boys were admiring the grandmother".
Another said that they thought it must be the mum's "insecurities" stopping her from praising her own mum for wearing a bikini.
"The daughter is having second-hand embarrassment for her mom because she doesn't want to be wearing bikinis," they fumed.
Somebody said that the grandma should speak to her daughter about "body positivity" and teach her a lesson.

Church servers put through their paces

An Edinburgh church has turned to an unexpected source for help in perfecting its worship: the gym. Altar servers from St Michael and All Saints, a Scottish Episcopal church known for its elaborate, centuries-old Anglo-Catholic liturgy, took part in a specially devised training session on Saturday led by personal trainer Stuart Lane. The workout was designed specifically to meet the physical demands of serving at the altar. The church Rector, the Revd Oliver Brewer-Lennon, said the event is a novel response to a need which is real and genuine. He said: 'The church's liturgy, or form of worship, is intricate, beautiful, and highly choreographed – and that places real physical demands on the servers. They carry heavy objects, genuflect, kneel for extended periods, and move in precise, synchronised patterns. It's physically taxing in a way people often don't realise. 'The idea was sparked half in jest, when someone remarked that serving resembled a kind of liturgical workout. But the joke led to a serious proposal: why not train intentionally for it?' Personal trainer Stuart Lane, who previously worked with Father Oliver as a weightlifting coach came from Glasgow specially to run the event. He lead a one-hour session in the church, and encouraged all those taking part to concentrate on core strength, mobility, balance, and stability with exercises tailored to the movements of sacred ritual. The idea was received warmly by the serving team of fifteen, who bring a serious commitment to their role in the liturgy and are open to new ways of preparing for it. 'I don't know if this makes us innovators or just slightly mad,' said Father Oliver, 'but the aim is genuine. This is about supporting people in what they do for the life of the church – and maybe having a bit of fun along the way.' Like this: Like Related

Nicole Kidman shares heartwarming tribute to Keith Urban on 19th wedding anniversary

Nicole Kidman marked nearly two decades of marriage with Keith Urban by sharing a heartfelt tribute to the country star on their 19th wedding anniversary. To mark the special occasion, the Big Little Lies star, 58, posted a sweet black and white photo of them sharing a sweet moment backstage at one of his shows. In the image, the Oscar winner can be seen with one arm draped lovingly over her husband's shoulders as he held her hand. The happy couple, who shares daughters Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 14, both closed their eyes as Kidman rested her forehead against Urban's head. 'Happy Anniversary Baby ❤️ @KeithUrban,' she captioned the post, which received more than 25,023 likes in less than an hour. Within minutes, the Somebody Like You hitmaker commented a single red heart emoji. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nicole Kidman (@nicolekidman) The lovebirds wed back in 2006 during a traditional Catholic ceremony at the Cardinal Cerretti Chapel in her hometown of Sydney. Kidman and Urban married five years after her split from actor Tom Cruise, with whom she shares two adopted children, Isabella and Connor. In 2022, the singer insisted that he and his wife are 'as normal as you get' on an episode of Jessica Rowe's podcast series The Big Talk Show. He also spoke about the very first time they met at the G'Day LA event in 2005, saying he thought the stunning Hollywood star was 'well out of his league.' 'We're just a couple who work things out, go through things together, life, and support each other the best way we can and try and raise our family,' Keith explained. 'Underneath it all, we're as normal as you can get I reckon,' he claimed, before reflecting he was 'not in a great place' when they first met. '[She] seemed well out of my league at that time in my life,' he said. 'I was not in a great place at my life, struggling with a lot of things, not in a million years would someone like that see anything in me... The fact that became what it is meant to be is astounding.' He also sweetly described his wife as 'ethereal, angelic, other worldly, very mystical and then completely down to earth at the same time and very funny.' Last year, Urban reflected on how he nearly destroyed his marriage, not long after they walked down the aisle. 'We got married in 2006, and barely four months into our marriage, the addictions that I had done really nothing about blew our marriage to smithereens,' he said while presenting at the AFI Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute to Kidman last year. Urban revealed that he was struggling with addiction when he first met Nicole and with her support he managed to eventually pull through. 'Four months into a marriage, and I'm in rehab for three months with no idea what was going to happen to us. 'Nic pushed through every negative voice - I'm sure even some of her own - and she chose love. 'And here we are tonight 18 years later. Her capacity to love is like no one I've ever met,' he concluded. The father-of-two, whose previously said he grew up watching his father's heavy drinking, previously said it took him 'a long time to get sober' because he didn't 'recognize' his alcoholism.
