Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is said to get a big camera upgrade

Samsung is said to be working on a big camera upgrade for its next flagship phone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra. As per a new rumour coming from China, the phone could switch to a Sony-made 200-megapixel main camera sensor, which is larger than what the company currently Galaxy S25 Ultra comes with Samsung's own 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor, but the upcoming Sony sensor is said to be slightly bigger in size. A larger sensor can allow more light in, which usually means better photos, especially in low light. This would be Sony's first 200MP camera sensor, and Samsung may be planning to use it for the first time in the S26 Ultra. However, the same report also mentions that Samsung could delay this camera upgrade to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, which may arrive in 2027. So, the company is expected to stick with the digitiser, which means the writing and drawing experience with the S Pen should remain the performance side, the S26 Ultra is likely to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite chip, which is expected to be built on TSMC's 3nm process. There were talks of Samsung using its own 2nm chip, but that plan has reportedly been dropped. Samsung may again get a special 'For Galaxy' version of the chip, which usually comes with some extra manage heat, the phone could include a larger vapor chamber cooling system—possibly up to 1.2 times bigger than what the S25 Ultra had. All variants—whether it's 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB—are expected to ship with 16GB of RAM, which would make multitasking and overall performance smoother. If Samsung sticks to its usual schedule, the Galaxy S26 Ultra should launch in January next year. As none of this is official yet, people are advised to take the details with a pinch of salt.- Ends
