Sanjay Kapur had created a '10-year-plan' before his death, wanted family to ‘love each other' even after his passing

Businessman Sunjay Kapur, who died in a freak accident some days ago, had recently said that he'd put together a 10-year-plan for his future. He had also spoken about the principles that he wants his four children to live with even after he's gone. Sunjay was married to actor Karisma Kapoor, with whom he has two children, daughter Samara and son Kiaan. In an interview conducted only three months before his death, he'd spoken about having a 'blended family', and his desire for every member to love each other after he's no longer around.
Appearing on the Indian Silicon Valley podcast recently, Kapur was asked what values he lives his life by. He said, 'For me, trust and respect is extremely important. It's important that a family comes together and stays together. Another thing that my wife and I do is a coaching session on parenting. We want to become better parents. We're also doing a coaching session on the Bhagavad Gita, we do that once a week. I want my kids and my family to have certain values that will revolve around trust, around respect, around unity, around staying together. It's extremely important.'

He continued, 'It's important that we build a unit. We come from a blended family, so it's not always easy. But we've been very fortunate to have a system where we all work together, where we love each other. And I want that to continue even after my wife and I's lifetime.'
Asked about how he intends to live his life after stepping away from an active executive role in his company, he said, 'I'm great planner. In October, I wrote down a 1o-year plan for myself; not goals, but things I will focus on. Whether it's work engagements or non-work engagements. There are a lot of non-work commitments that I have. I'm very clear about what I will do and what I will not do. Sport is very important to me, health and fitness is very important to me. I play active polo, I run a team. I play as often as I can. However, what's also important to me is that I give back to my family. When I drew up my 10-year plan, I actually wrote down the broad strokes of work-related and non-work related, foundation-related… I flushed out 2025 to define what I will do. I'm not the sort of person who can sit around without a packed schedule. It's a great luxury to be the master of your own time.'
Kapur was a part of the board for his family business, Sona Comstar, which is valued at around Rs 40,000 crore. He was also a part of the Doon School's board, and was an active polo player. He died on June 13 after accidentally swallowing a bee during a polo game in England, and going into cardiac arrest. His body was repatriated to India, and his funeral was conducted in New Delhi. Karisma Kapoor was in attendance, along with their two children, her sister Kareena Kapoor, and Kareena's husband, Saif Ali Khan. Sunjay is survived by his wife, Priya Sachdev, and his four children.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has shared a picture of an old cinema hall ticket for his 1970 blockbuster 'Sholay" and revealed that the cost was just Rs. 20. Amitabh took to his blog, where he shared a string of images from his weekly meet and greet with his fans outside his Mumbai mansion and along with that he also shared a picture of a 'preserved" Sholay ticket. He wrote on his blog: 'The SHOLAY ticket… kept and preserved, just defeated whatever has been expressed a few lines above .. Rs 20 !! the price .. !!!!!?? (sic)." The thespian was stunned to know that it is the price of an 'aerated drink" in theatres nowadays. 'I am told that is the price of an aerated drink in Theatre Halls nowadays .. is that a fact ?? So much to say , but say not… affection and love (sic)." he wrote. Sholay, an epic action-adventure film, is directed by Ramesh Sippy. The film is about two criminals, Veeru and Jai, hired by a retired police officer to capture the ruthless dacoit Gabbar Singh. The megastar also spoke about the mysterious power of late-night hours for creativity and introspection and said that amidst noise and solitude, the mind often finds its sharpest clarity. Many theories exist on this and two that stand out is – the ability to hear what you write ; and the isolation in the presence of noise .. seemingly unendorsed opinion or express , but strangely in the midst of cacophony the creative or the mind that thinks, excels .. at times the best .. (sic)." Ashwin Kumar's Mahavatar Narsimha mints Rs 15.85 Cr in opening weekend: collections soared by over 400 % from Day 1

Ashwin Kumar's mythological action drama, Mahavatar Narsimha, has exceeded expectations after a modest opening. The film, rooted in Indian mythology, witnessed significant growth over the weekend, particularly in the Hindi-speaking region. Strong word-of-mouth and appreciation for its spiritual themes are driving its success, potentially making it a surprise hit despite limited pre-release buzz. Ashwin Kumar 's mythological action drama Mahavatar Narsimha opened in cinemas with measured expectations, but the film has shown a notable upward trend through its opening weekend. Rooted in ancient Indian mythology and centered around the fierce avatar of Vishnu who emerges to destroy the tyrant Hiranyakashyap, the film has managed to strike a chord, particularly in the Hindi-speaking belt. Directed by Ashwin Kumar with reverence for the source material and supported by strong visuals, Mahavatar Narsimha delves into the eternal battle between good and evil, a story familiar to many but rarely attempted with such scale and cinematic vision in modern Indian cinema. The screenplay by Ashwin Kumar , Jayapurna Das and Rudra Pratap Ghosh brings to life the poignant journey of Prahlad's unwavering devotion and the divine wrath of Narsimha, offering both emotional and action-packed beats. The film had a modest start with a Day 1 (Friday) net collection of Rs 1.75 crore across all languages. Of this, the Hindi version contributed a significant Rs 1.3 crore, clearly establishing the northern belt as the film's strongest market. The Telugu version followed with Rs 35 lakhs, while Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam versions opened to limited numbers, together contributing just Rs 10 lakhs. However, the real turnaround began on Saturday, with the film showing an impressive 162.86% growth. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo It collected Rs 4.6 crore, with the Hindi version rising to Rs 3.25 crore and Telugu to Rs 1.15 crore. The Kannada version improved marginally to Rs 11 lakhs, and the Tamil and Malayalam versions also saw slight upticks. The upward trajectory continued into Sunday, with the film raking in an estimated Rs 9.5 crore, marking another 106.52% increase from Saturday. Hindi alone contributed Rs 6.75 crore, while the Telugu version brought in Rs 2.4 crore. The film's total three-day India net collection now stands at Rs 15.85 crore, a solid figure for a mythological film led by a relatively lesser-known film not only showed a massive 442.86 % jump from its day 1 collection but also survived the Saiyaara wave in Hindi belt which has now become the 25th biggest hit of Hindi cinema. Never before has a film with newcomers like Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda performed this well at the box office. The film has been directed by Mohit Suri . What's becoming increasingly clear is that Mahavatar Narsimha is riding on strong word-of-mouth, especially among family audiences and devotees appreciative of its spiritual and moral themes. Its performance is particularly promising given that the film had limited buzz pre-release and a relatively niche theme in a market dominated by commercial action this momentum continues into the weekdays, the film may become a surprise hit.
