THE whole country is currently experiencing soaring temperatures, which is making getting a decent night's sleep more difficult than ever.
And if you're anything like me, I never sleep naked so finding a pair of pyjamas that won't leave you waking up in a pool of sweat can be an absolute game changer.

Staying cool in the prime British summer can be gruelling at the best of times, but when your fan starts circulating hot air and your bedroom feels as hot as Death Valley (mine certainly has this week) then the chances of a good sleep are pretty slim.
And contrary to popular belief, according to sleep experts, sleeping naked doesn't actually help when it comes to beating the heat.
Instead, covering up is proven to help you cool-down, so if you're having restless nights, then now is the time to reassess your nightwear.
Think breathable, light-weight materials such as cotton, linen and silk.
Plus the fit is important too, loose cuts, shorts and sleeveless sets are best for allowing your body to regulate in temperature, rather than trapping the heat in.
Luckily, our favourite supermarket brands have got a wide range of budget-friendly pyjama sets that'll help you get your full 8-hours, without compromising on style too.
And, you can pick them all up whilst doing the weekly food shop.

Striped Pyjama Set, £20, F&F Clothing at Tesco
Credit: TESCO.COM
This pyjama set from F&F at Tesco is made from a lightweight cheesecloth fabric, making it ideal for hotter temperatures.
The top is loose and airy, offering a breezier feel, while providing more coverage than a cami, thanks to its cap sleeves.
Plus, the matching shorts have a comfortable elastic waistband.
They've earned a five-star rating online, one happy customer wrote, 'Absolutely love them, cool and comfy'.
At just £20 for the set, they're a great value buy and the classic blue and white stripe is a timeless print that'll be stylish for many seasons to come.
And if you don't have a superstore nearby, you can now shop F&F Clothing online too!

Gingham Pyjama Shorts, £14, M&S Collection at Marks & Spencer

Gingham seems to be everywhere at the moment, and this pink check set from Marks & Spencer instantly stood out to me.
With frilled edges and tasselled drawstrings, they're a stylish pair with extra attention to detail.
Made from pure cotton, the cami, with adjustable straps and the elasticated shorts are a great option for keeping cool on hotter nights.
And warm weather doesn't mean compromising on style, the brand also offers several other pieces in the same check print, including a tie-front top, trousers and a night dress.
So if you love the style, why not get the whole set and wear it all year round.

Pink El Sol Pyjama Set, £22, TU at Sainsburys
Credit: tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk
If, like me, you're into a graphic print, then TU at Sainsbury's has got you covered.
Sainsbury's shoppers have been going wild and the supermarket's graphic printed pj sets have taken social media by storm, with some TikTok videos reaching over 4.1M views.
When I saw this set, I gasped.
Not only is it perfect for a good night's sleep, with boxy sleeves and oversized shorts but the print is so stylish that I think it could even double up as a holiday co-ord or beach cover-up.
Stay cool in more than one way and get more bang for your buck too.
One TikTok user commented 'Omg giving Eleanor Bowmer vibes' and I couldn't agree more.
And the best part is, this set is also a part of the 'mini-me' range so you can match with your kids too, cute!

Satin Floral Print Pyjama Set, was £20, now £11, F&F Clothing at Tesco
Credit: tesco.com
Satin is also a great material for keeping cool at night, this set from F&F feels more grown up and sophisticated with a delicate floral print and lace detailing.
Again, the shorts have an elasticated waist and the cami has adjustable shoulder straps so you can control how loose it is.
If you love the print, it's also available in a night-dress, plus there's a matching robe which is not only stylish but practical for if you want to cover up a little before bed or on early mornings.

Floral Pyjama Set, £14, George at ASDA
Credit: GEORGE.COM
If you want to go sleeveless but like a little more support, then this ditsy-floral set from George at Asda is for you.
The round-neck vest shape with wider straps offers more support along with the ribbed material, but it's light enough that you'll still keep cool.
Plus, this ditsy floral print is everywhere at the moment, with more expensive versions from the likes of Skims and Lounge, this alternative is much more budget-friendly and shoppers agree, taking to TikTok with "Run, don't walk" comments.
And you could even double-up and wear the vest as daywear.
It also comes in a blue shade too, but it's not online at the moment so be sure to check your local store.

Printed Pyjama Set, £13, TU at Sainsburys
Credit: tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk
This is the cheapest set of the bunch, at just £13.
Graphic t-shirts and stripes are two of summer 2025's biggest trends, and rolled into one for this t-shirt set, which looks far more expensive than its price tag.
They've got a 4.3 star review with one customer raving 'Lovely quality, nice lightweight fabric, cool short pyjamas'.
I'd recommend sizing up in these for a slightly oversized feel that'll keep you from sweating throughout the night.

Printed Pyjama Cami, £12, Body by M&S at Marks & Spencer
Credit: marksandspencer.com
9
Printed Pyjama Shorts, £10, Body by M&S at Marks & Spencer
Credit: marksandspencer.com
Marks & Spencer have created this set with hotter nights in mind.
They're from the brand's Body collection and contain moisture-wicking technology which is designed to keep you cool all night long.
The scrunch tie detailing on the back is a lovely touch and like most M&S pyjama sets, there's an alternative top and trouser, made from the same cooling material.
The shorts have a drawstring fastening on the inside, but shoppers have recommended sizing down in the top which comes up slightly large.

Tesco shoppers have just DAYS left to double the value of their Clubcard points just in time for the summer holidays
TESCO customers have just days left to get their hands on an extra £10 in Clubcard points, just in time for the summer holidays. Shoppers have until July 29 to exchange £5 worth of Clubcard vouchers with one of Tesco's Days Out Reward Partners. 1 These include big-name attractions such as Cadbury World, Thorpe Park, Legoland Windsor and The London Eye. Meanwhile, if you live in Wales then you can exchange your points for a WWT annual membership or trip to Tenpin bowling. Once you have done so 1,000 worth of Clubcard points will be added to your account by October 19. To get the deal, you need to exchange at least £5 worth of Clubcard points with a rewards partner. To do so simply sign into the Tesco grocery and Clubcard app or go to 'My Clubcard account'. Next browse the reward partners and choose one you would like to spend your vouchers with and complete your order. The bonus is limited to one reward per Clubcard membership, which means even if you make more than one exchange, you will still only get one £10 top up. Meanwhile, if you have joined your Clubcard account with a spouse or other family member then you will only get one bonus in this promotion. The offer does not apply to entertainment partners including Cineworld, Disney+ or Picturehouse. The deal is the latest in a series of offers aimed at helping Tesco customers to make their money go further. Earlier this year the major supermarket was offering triple points to customers who exchanged their points with select reward partners. To be eligible customers simply needed to make a qualifying purchase from the Tesco Marketplace between May 13 and June 4. Meanwhile, Sainsbury's recently gave Nectar customers triple points on selected brands in a limited-time deal. Plus, Lidl regularly hands out digital coupons for £10 off a £40 shop to customers. How to save money on your food shop Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save hundreds of pounds a year: Odd boxes - plenty of retailers offer slightly misshapen fruit and veg or surplus food at a discounted price. Lidl sells five kilos of fruit and veg for just £1.50 through its Waste Not scheme while Aldi shoppers can get Too Good to Go bags which contain £10 worth of all kinds of products for £3.30. Sainsbury's also sells £2 "Taste Me, Don't Waste Me" fruit and veg boxes to help shoppers reduced food waste and save cash. Food waste apps - food waste apps work by helping shops, cafes, restaurants and other businesses shift stock that is due to go out of date and passing it on to members of the public. Some of the most notable ones include Too Good to Go and Olio. Too Good to Go's app is free to sign up to and is used by millions of people across the UK, letting users buy food at a discount. Olio works similarly, except users can collect both food and other household items for free from neighbours and businesses. Yellow sticker bargains - yellow sticker bargains, sometimes orange and red in certain supermarkets, are a great way of getting food on the cheap. But what time to head out to get the best deals varies depending on the retailer. You can see the best times for each supermarket here. Super cheap bargains - sign up to bargain hunter Facebook groups like Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK where shoppers regularly post hauls they've found on the cheap, including food finds. "Downshift" - you will almost always save money going for a supermarket's own-brand economy lines rather than premium brands. The move to lower-tier ranges, also known as "downshifting" and hailed by consumer expert Martin Lewis, could save you hundreds of pounds a year on your food shop. The schemes offer vital help to families struggling to keep up with rising food prices. Food price inflation rose for the third consecutive month in June, piling further pressure onto families struggling to make ends meet.

'It's too hot to sleep so I made my own DIY air con for £1 - it cools me down in seconds'
With heatwaves plaguing the UK more often, people are desperately looking for ways to stay cool - without adding to their energy bills - and this life hack is worth a try If you are finding you can't sleep in sweltering temperatures, this life hack is well worth a try. The UK is experiencing heatwaves with increasing regularity, but most of our homes are not designed for hot weather - and few people have air conditioning units in their homes. Given that most of the year Brits are enduring cold, rainy, and grey days, it makes a lot of sense that people often don't want to spend too much money on keeping their houses cool. This does mean, however, that when we experience scorching temperatures, it can be pretty unbearable, particularly when trying to nod off and get some much-needed rest. Experts share vital ways to revive your tired and dried-out grass during hot weather Weather maps reveal date summer will return with blazing sunshine and 27C highs There are some do-it-yourself options that you can consider when trying to keep your bedroom cool - that will assure you a better night's sleep, and won't break the bank. This life hack was posted by Iceland supermarket on its official TikTok account, and all you will need for it is a fan and a cheap and cheerful bag of ice cubes to create your own version of an air con, keeping you cool as you head off to sleep. First up, you need to grab a bowl - ideally not a small one. Then fill it with ice and place it directly in front of where your fan is positioned. Fans don't actually cool down the temperature of your rooms, but they can make you feel cooler, and this nifty trick will mean that the air blown through the fan is being lowered in temperature by the ice in front of it, making your bedroom a much more pleasant place to sleep. A 2kg bag of ice will only set you back £1 from Iceland, £1.30 from Tesco and Sainsburys, or 85p from Lidl. Whilst you will need to top up your bowl of ice as it melts, this cost combined with the amount it will set you back to run a fan throughout the night - or at least the couple of hours as you're settling down to sleep, is a fraction of what an air conditioning unit would be. There are some other simple adaptations you can make to try and get a proper amount of rest when the temperatures rise. Firstly, if your bedroom windows get a lot of sunshine, make sure that in the hours light would be pouring in, you keep them firmly closed, as well as the blind or curtain - this will help keep the room cooler overall, and you can always crack the windows open once the temperatures have dropped in the evening. Opt for a lukewarm shower an hour before you go to bed, this will help you feel refreshed, but also relaxed - cold and hot showers should be avoided during high temperatures. Finally, consider what material your bedding is made from, and perhaps ditch the duvet altogether. Linen sheets are best in a heatwave, because the fabric is breathable and can absorb a decent amount of moisture before feeling wet or damp - which is perfect for a sweaty night. If you don't have linen bedding, then go for cotton, but try and avoid polyester when the mercury starts to rise.

River Island sell suede sandals that are a Hermes Oran Sandal alternative
Metro journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission – learn more While the British weather may not be able to make up its mind, we can. By that mean, we prefer the price tag of a designer alternative than we do the real McCoy. Case in point is River Island's Suede Cut Out Sandals that retails for £28, but looks very similar to the iconic Hermes Oran Sandals, which fetch a staggering £610. Crafted from leather, these suede sandals boast a cut-out strap over the bridge of the toes with a gold buckle detail on top. The open toe design has a flatform-style heel as the sole increases in height ever so slightly by the heel. Available in two colours and in UK shoe sizes 2 to 8. Buy Now for £17 (was £28) River Island's Suede Cut Out Strap Sandals have been crafted from leather suede. The design boasts a square open toe, which is similar to the Hermes design. Though River Island boasts a geometric cut-out strap, this detail on the Hermes' shoe is in the shape of the letter 'H' to honour the brand, of course. The main stand out difference between both flat sandals is the gold buckle accent on River Island's shoes, which is almost a chic twist we love and a subtle nod to Gucci's signature horsebit detail. The Hermes Oran sandal has been crafted from premium calfskin, and offers a smooth leather exterior, whereas River Island's design is a textured suede. Look a bit closer and you will see that River Island's shoe features a flat sole, which is slightly elevated by the heel, but resembles a very minuscule flatform almost. However, the Hermes design has a small block heel. More Trending River Island's open-toe sandals are available in two colours, including tan suede and a chocolate brown smooth leather, whereas the Hermes sandals come in 35 colours, which is quite a collection to pick from. Hermes' sandals come in UK sizes 2 to 8.5, and half sizes are available. While River Island's shoes are also available in UK shoe sizes 2 to 8, it does not include half sizes. If you are in the market for a new pair of summer sandals to complement your summer dress, skirt and top co-ord, or the classic jeans and a tank top ensemble, a pair of sturdy yet stylish sandals that won't break the bank just makes sense. Why stop there? River Island has a variety of premium looking accessories to shop too, including the Bottega Veneta inspired bag and Jacquemus inspired roll top bag.
