Mumbai: Two foreign nationals from Indonesia carrying 21kgs of hydroponic cannabis (Hydro Ganja) valued at Rs21 crore in the international drug market have been arrested by the Oshiwara police.

Officials from the police station were alerted about an illegal drug deal set to take place within the police jurisdiction. The two were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Further investigations are going on. TNN

Over 1.4k kg of adulterated paneer seized, four arrested in Noida
Noida: Police arrested four persons for allegedly manufacturing and supplying adulterated paneer to vendors in the city. Cops also recovered over 1,400kg of adulterated paneer, and raw materials used in its production from their possession. One other accused is absconding. DCP (central Noida) said that cops received a tip-off late on Saturday night that a truck loaded with adulterated paneer was en-route for delivery in Noida. A checkpoint was set-up and the truck was stopped for inspection in Sector 63. Police arrested Gulfam (23), Naved (20), and Iqlakh (30). They told cops they were daily wagers working for Faridabad-based men Guddu (30) and Afsar. While Guddu was arrested later on Sunday, Afsar is absconding. Opium husk worth 40L seized, 4 held in Churu
Jhunjhunu: The police Saturday seized 273 kilogram of opium husk worth Rs 40 lakh and arrested four people in Churu district. Two vehicles were also seized. According to Ratangarh police officer Dilip Singh, the police were patrolling Saturday night when they received a tip-off about drug trafficking. They stopped and searched a car near Sankat Mochan Balaji Temple on the Ratangarh Highway. The occupants, 25-year-old Mahavir Prasad Meghwal from Barwali village and 29-year-old Vikram Singh Rajput from Chawandiya village, both in Didwana, revealed they were piloting a Fortuner car carrying the opium husk, he said. Meanwhile, a Fortuner car arrived at the police checkpoint, carrying 48-year-old Kulwant Singh and 40-year-old Gurpreet Singh, both from Punjab. Upon searching the car, police found 272.35 kilogram of opium husk in 14 bags, estimated to be worth around Rs 40 lakh. According to the police, the accused were transporting the opium husk from Madhya Pradesh to Punjab. A case has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).

Peddler's house razed in Fazilka
Fazilka: The police on Sunday claimed to have demolished the house of a drug smuggler in Tahliwala Bodla village in Fazilka district. According to Gurmit Singh, senior superintendent of police, Fazilka, the house of Parveen Rani alias Raveena, was demolished as the woman was consistently involved in illegal drug trafficking activities and was previously booked in two cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at Arniwala police station. Parveen Rani was involved in the sale of illegal drugs and possession of stolen property. Following a request from the civil administration, Fazilka police took action and demolished her illegally constructed house. The SSP said no drug trafficker would be spared, and such demolition drives would continue in future. He said police were also committed to rehabilitating drug users by enrolling them in de-addiction centres. tnn
