Gun pulled during fight at J. Alexander's restaurant: police
The MPD is searching for two suspects accused of threatening and assaulting customers on Mother's Day at the restaurant on North Germantown Parkway.
Police say the altercation broke out around 6:30 p.m. when the ex-boyfriend of a victim's daughter approached her at the restaurant, holding a gun to his side where everyone could see it. He allegedly told the woman to 'get back,' and a fight began.
Two men hospitalized after Mother's Day shootings
A woman who attempted to break up the fight was punched in the face by a female suspect, and a man who also tried to intervene told police the male suspect pointed the gun at his stomach.
Reports say the two suspects then left the restaurant in a purple Lexus SUV with Tennessee temporary tags.
A man who said he was a witness went on Facebook Live describing what he saw, saying two women began fighting at the table next to his, and then a group of people jumped over the patio wall and began attacking a woman who was eating.
He said he only saw a fist fight but, 'At some point, somebody said 'Gun.'' A restaurant employee then ran through the restaurant and told everyone to get under their tables and take cover.
He said his group decided to stay at the restaurant after the action, and had an 'amazing' evening.
No one was injured during the altercation. WREG is reaching out to the restaurant today.

What we know The crash happened shortly after 10 p.m. Friday near East Dundee Road and North Kennedy Drive. Palatine police said officers arrived to find several damaged vehicles, including a black Lexus and a black Nissan that had collided head-on. A 23-year-old woman riding in the Nissan, along with her 7-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter, were taken to area hospitals with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. An investigation revealed the driver of the Lexus, Rosalba Ramirez-Fraga, 31, was traveling northbound on North Frontage Road when she rear-ended a gray Toyota. Police said she then continued into the westbound lanes of East Dundee Road while driving eastbound — ultimately crashing head-on into the Nissan. Officers said Ramirez-Fraga showed signs of impairment and admitted to drinking before the crash. Police also recovered several open containers of alcohol from her vehicle. Tri-agency traffic enforcement targets excessive speeding on I-565
MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Multiple department came together to crack down on people driving too fast along I-565 in Madison County. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD), Madison Police Department (MPD) and the Madison County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) carried out a targeted split radar operation on Monday, July 14, along the I-565 corridor. 'This isn't just about speeding – it's about the very real consequences of reckless driving,' HPD Chief Kirk Giles said. 'Through our Summer Slowdown initiative and this collaboration, we're reminding drivers that speed kills. Enforcement is just one piece of the puzzle. The real goal is changing behavior before a tragedy happens.' From 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., officers and deputies from the three agencies monitored I-565 from Wall Triana Highway to Chapman Mountain and focused on aggressive drivers going well beyond the speed limit. According to authorities, more that 140 vehicles were stopped in just over six hours. Officers issued 104 citations and 79 written warnings. Authorities said that one driver was clocked at 97 miles per hour. 'In the spirit of inter-agency cooperation, this joint enforcement event highlights law enforcement's commitment to public safety in general and traffic safety in particular,' MPD Chief Johnny Gandy said. 'Each of the major law enforcement agencies in Madison County came together with a common goal to ensure safe roads for the motoring public and to reduce senseless speed related crashes that, far too often, result in serious injuries or death.' Woman cut outside Mobile business: police say
