Murder charge after woman found dead at house in Batley
A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead in a house in Angus, 21 and from Dewsbury, was found at a property in Norfolk Street on Yorkshire Police said Michael Moore, 37, of Batley, had been charged with murder and would appear before Leeds magistrates Moore is also charged with possession of a bladed article, affray and two counts of threatening a person with a bladed article in a public place. Young man, 25, killed in freak forklift accident in a Sydney warehouse is identified
A 25-year-old man killed in a freak forklift accident in a Sydney warehouse is being mourned by his heartbroken family. Thanh Dat was struck and then trapped by a forklift at Green Star Food Services in Preston, in the city's southwest, about 5.30am last Friday. He died in the warehouse despite first responders' frantic efforts to revive him. Mr Thanh's family said they were 'heartbroken' by the loss of their loved one. 'Dat was full of dreams and working hard to build a better future for his family,' Thi Phuong Oanh said. Mr Thanh had been living and working in Australia as a forklift driver while supporting his family in Vietnam. '(He was) always showing dedication, kindness, and a smile that could brighten anyone's day,' Ms Thi said. 'His passing has left a deep pain in the hearts of everyone who knew him.' Police, detectives, and forensic officers remained at Green Star Food Services for much of Friday morning. 'A crime scene has been established and investigations commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident,' a NSW Police spokesman said at the time. A report was prepared for the coroner, and SafeWork NSW was notified of the incident. Mr Thanh's family has made an appeal for help with the costs of a funeral in Australia. They would also like to repatriate Mr Thanh's ashes to Vietnam. 'Thanh Dat's life, though far too short, touched many with kindness, laughter, and love. Together let us carry him home,' Ms Thi wrote in a GoFundMe. Then fundraiser has so far raised more than $2,000.

Good Samaritan praised after fire at Telford restaurant
The owner of a family-run restaurant in Shropshire said a Good Samaritan inadvertently saved her towels caught fire inside Restaurant 1840 in Dawley, Telford, on Sunday morning, setting off a fire alarm.A nearby dog walker investigated, triggering the security alarm which alerted owner Jelly Tench, who was able to get to the building and put out the fire."There are so few people that would stop and try and do something in that moment," said Ms Tench. "He thought they were the security alarms going off and he thought somebody was robbing the place, so he did come and make sure there was nothing he could do."Ms Tench started a social media campaign to try and find out who the man was in order to thank has since been identified and she said he would be invited for a meal at the site which is based in a restored 19th Century former Methodist church."That single action, it stopped a church from burning down, we are so incredibly grateful for what he's done," she said."Just taking that moment out of his way has changed our lives."I have seen him quite a few times locally and he's such a polite and lovely man, and I don't know if he realises yet quite what a difference he made here, he saved our livelihoods and business."Ms Tench said she did not know what had caused the towels to go up in flames."There is no explanation, I was in the kitchen two hours after everything was turned off, there were no problems at all," she said."It's very scary to see how easily things can happen.
