
Saudi FM meets Iranian and Egyptian counterparts in Oslo
OSLO — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan held separate meetings with the foreign ministers of Iran and Egypt in Oslo on Wednesday. The meetings were held on the sidelines of the Oslo Forum 2025, held in the Norwegian capital.
During the meeting between Prince Faisal and Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries. The ministers discussed recent regional and international developments.
The Saudi foreign minister also met with Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Expatriates Affairs Dr. Badr Abdelatty. They discussed bilateral relations and regional developments, including the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and the efforts being made to address them.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, Minister Abdelatty discussed, in a phone call with Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the ongoing efforts to resume ceasefire in Gaza and the access of humanitarian aid to the besieged Strip, in light of the "deteriorating humanitarian conditions." During the phone call on Wednesday evening, the ministers discussed the next steps to implement the Arab-Islamic Plan for Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza. According to the statement, the two ministers also discussed the importance of compliance on the part of Israel and Iran with the ceasefire reached between them. Cairo hosted an emergency Arab summit in early March, which adopted a comprehensive Arab plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which subsequently received Islamic support. Abdelatty indicated that Egypt looks forward to hosting the international conference for early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza following a ceasefire. Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the calls of Israeli ministers to apply full sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.
