11 agreements inked that set to bring Dutch entities into SAFTA
Saudi Gazette Report RIYADH— Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Mansour Al-Mushaiti attended the signing of 11 agreements welcoming new members to the Saudi AgriFood Tech Alliance (SAFTA) during his participation in GreenTech Amsterdam 2025, as part of an official visit to the Netherlands. The agreements, signed with leading Dutch companies and research institutions, reflect the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation and expand opportunities in agricultural innovation. The event was attended by a high-level Saudi delegation, including officials from the environment, water, and agriculture sectors, as well as representatives from national private-sector companies. This initiative aims to bolster bilateral ties between Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands, foster collaboration in the environment, water, and agriculture fields, and establish strategic partnerships that promote knowledge exchange and innovation, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. A memorandum of understanding was also signed with the Netherlands Water Partnership and the Dutch Water Alliance to join the Saudi Water Innovation Alliance initiative. These partnerships represent a significant step forward in Saudi-Dutch cooperation, particularly in advancing food security and promoting sustainable agricultural technologies. SAFTA serves as a national platform that connects local and international partners to support research and development, accelerate the adoption of advanced technological solutions, and enable the Kingdom's agricultural sector to implement global best practices in smart farming, environmental sustainability, and high-quality food production.

MWL thanks King Salman for supporting Iranian pilgrims until their safe return
Saudi Gazette Report MAKKAH — The Muslim World League (MWL) thanked and appreciated the directive of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to ensure that Iranian pilgrims receive all necessary services and support until they can safely return to their homeland and join their families. The directive was issued upon the recommendation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Issa, secretary general of MWL and chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, praised the royal directive as a continuation of the Kingdom's longstanding commitment to ensuring the comfort, care, and well-being of pilgrims to the Two Holy Mosques, and to meeting their needs until their safe return to their countries. He prayed to God Almighty to greatly reward the King and the Crown Prince for their outstanding services to the Two Holy Mosques, their visitors, and the entire Islamic Ummah, as well as to continue bestowing honor, security, and prosperity upon Saudi Arabia.

Over 1.23 million pilgrims benefited from walking field teams' services during Hajj
Saudi Gazette Report MAKKAH — The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque Affairs announced that at least 1.23 million pilgrims have benefited from its walking field teams and guidance services in the Grand Mosque during the 1446 AH Hajj season. The walking teams offer precise guidance and meticulous service, with a special focus on the elderly and people with disabilities. To ensure guides are easily identifiable, major directional signs and floor stickers with sequential numbers were installed at their fixed points. The system helps link locations with nearby services, marking a vital step in improving visitor assistance by providing effective and direct support. The walking teams' service is part of the authority's ongoing efforts to enhance and develop diverse services. The initiative aligns with broader objectives to ensure an improved experience for all visitors within the Grand Mosque and its courtyards.

Saudi Arabia and Netherlands sign agreements with investments exceeding SR428 million
Saudi Gazette Report AMSTERDAM — Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands have signed a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoU) with investments exceeding SR428 million in Amsterdam. The agreements were inked between a number of Saudi and Dutch companies with the aim to develop and localize modern technologies in the environmental, water, and agricultural fields. Saudi Deputy Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Eng. Mansour Al-Mushaiti attended the ceremony of signing 27 agreements and MoUs during his current visit to the Netherlands from June 10 to 12 in the presence of a number of the Dutch government officials as well as senior executives and business leaders from the public and private sectors. The signing included a MoU between the Saudi National Program for the Development of the Livestock and Fisheries Sector and the Dutch company VigGuard to establish cooperation to localize livestock disease control research. MoUs were also signed between the National Center for Sustainable Agriculture Research and Development, the Dutch Greenhouse Alliance, the Dutch company Hoogendoorn, Hudson River Biotechnology, and Wageningen University, to launch initiatives in the fields of agricultural technology and research, and to establish capacity-building partnerships in the fields of agricultural innovation, greenhouse farming solutions, and green biotechnology. The partnerships also included the signing of a MoU between the National Agricultural Services Company and Delphi to support agricultural innovation. MoUs were also signed between the Makkah Region Development Authority, Van der Hoeven Projects for Protected Agriculture and Horticulture, and Horizon 11 to transfer and localize biotechnology. A MoU was signed between Al-Yasin Agricultural Company and the Cobret Experimental Center to establish a partnership worth up to one million euros to promote biotechnology in control and crop protection. Another MoU was signed between the Saudi Greenhouse Management and Agricultural Marketing Company and Plantae and Certhon with the aim of investing in localizing innovations in the agricultural sector. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Lehaa Group of Companies for Trade and Agricultural Investment, the Dutch Royal HZPC Group, and the Gal Sahara Potato Production Company, with investments exceeding SR76 million. This will enhance potato production in the Kingdom, in addition to establishing a French fries factory equipped with the latest processing technologies. Eng. Mansour Al-Mushaiti also witnessed the signing of six MoUs between Dafa Agricultural Company and a number of companies specialized in the fields of vegetables, fruits, fertilizers, greenhouses, and software project supply, with investments exceeding SR292 million. It is worth noting that this visit comes within the framework of the plans and vision of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture to enhance the global capacity of the Saudi agricultural sector, expand the production and export of local agricultural products, contribute to increasing the volume of trade between the Kingdom and the Netherlands, and strengthen international partnerships, in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

Saudi FM meets Iranian and Egyptian counterparts in Oslo
Saudi Gazette Report OSLO — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan held separate meetings with the foreign ministers of Iran and Egypt in Oslo on Wednesday. The meetings were held on the sidelines of the Oslo Forum 2025, held in the Norwegian capital. During the meeting between Prince Faisal and Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries. The ministers discussed recent regional and international developments. The Saudi foreign minister also met with Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Expatriates Affairs Dr. Badr Abdelatty. They discussed bilateral relations and regional developments, including the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and the efforts being made to address them.
