AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" climbs to No. 5 on the U.K.'s Official Rock & Metal Singles chart as four of ... More the band's classics rise simultaneously. Even without releasing anything new, AC/DC still commands an incredible amount of space on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart in the U.K. The group ranks among the most successful names on the list at the moment, with multiple smashes appearing at the same time. Not only does the Australian rock outfit take up more real estate than almost any other act, but this time around, every one of its tunes manages to climb as sales increase. These decades-old classics are, somehow, still improving after so much time.
AC/DC fills four spaces on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart, meaning the group controls 10% of the entire 40-position ranking, which looks only at the bestselling tunes in those styles. This time around, all four smashes — which have already spent years on the list — manage to climb at least one spot, with most surging multiple rungs at once.
"Thunderstruck" is AC/DC's highest-rising hit on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart this week, which is usually the case. The title climbs to No. 5, growing by one position from its previous placement at No. 6.
Fellow time-tested winners "Back in Black," "Highway to Hell," and "You Shook Me All Night Long" also climb ever so slightly, appearing this frame at Nos. 21, 24, and 34, respectively.
Among that bunch, the least successful track is "You Shook Me All Night Long," which is still regarded as a generation-defining win. The tune is the only one of the four that has yet to reach No. 1, as it has thus far stalled in the runner-up spot.
It has also spent the least amount of time on the tally, with just 457 frames to its credit. That sum would be historic for almost any other act, but when it comes to AC/DC, the other three charting successes on the Official Rock & Metal Singles list have all passed 600 frames.
"Thunderstruck" is the only one of AC/DC's songs that manages to appear on more than one tally this week. As it climbs on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart, it also advances on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads lists, coming in at Nos. 66 and 62, respectively. In both instances, sales increased so much that "Thunderstruck" was able to push forward by more than 10 spots.

'I stopped for tea and helped to build the Pyramid Stage'

A man who was driving through Somerset when he saw a Glastonbury Fair sign says he stopped in for a cup of tea, before ending up helping to build the Pyramid Stage. Brian Johnson, who is now a WaterAid volunteer at the festival, was making his way from Cambridge to Cornwall with his then girlfriend in 1971 when he saw the sign nailed to a tree. He said: "We thought it might be nice to stop for a cup of tea and a bun but we actually ended up helping to build the first Pyramid Stage." He said they drove down to Worthy Farm and Michael Eavis' partner, Jean, gave the pair "a spanner and a pint of milk" and told them they might have something "useful" for them do. The first Glastonbury Festival, which was known then as the Pilton Pop, Folk and Blues Festival, took place in September 1970. The following year, it was moved to June to coincide with the summer solstice and became known as Glastonbury Fair. Mr Johnson told BBC Radio Somerset it was "really interesting" to be involved in the construction of the famous stage and said he "didn't know much" about festivals at the time. Constructed from metal and plastic sheeting, the stage was deliberately placed on the Glastonbury-Stonehenge ley line (a network of lines which are said to connect sites with spiritual and cultural significance). He added: "The idea of the Pyramid was that it concentrated cosmic energy into the performers, which I think is great and is part of what makes it such an iconic symbol now." The WaterAid volunteer said it was at this festival he met David Bowie but only "caught the last bit" of his set as he "slept in". David Bowie's first appearance at the Glastonbury Festival took place at about 5am on 23 June 1971. Wateraid continues to be a huge part of Glastonbury Festival, having been a charity partner since 1994. It supports water and sanitation services on site while spreading the message everyone deserves access to clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene. A set of polaroid film photos from this year's festival has revealed what it is like to work behind the scenes as a volunteer. Liz Lace and Lucas Myers shared a sneak peak into their first shift on Wednesday handing out free water and cleaning toilets on site. Ms Lace described the experience as "really fulfilling", allowing her to enjoy all the festival has to offer while simultaneously "doing something worthwhile". This year marks Mr Myers' fourth time volunteering with the charity, working on the 'loo crew' to keep more than 3,000 toilets clean. The 21-year-old described the team of volunteers as "one big family". "Meeting other volunteers from all walks of life means every conversation back at the camp is unique, and have been some of my best times at the festival," he said. "I really enjoyed taking the photos and capturing moments of volunteers enjoying themselves, rolling their sleeves up and spreading the important message of WaterAid's mission – that change starts with clean water and decent toilets." Ms Lace acted as a 'water welcomer', helping festival-goers stay hydrated by filling up bottles for those passing through the gates and exploring the site. The 60-year-old has been to every Glastonbury Festival since 1993 except one, following the birth of her daughter. "My favourite thing about volunteering at the festival has been meeting all the lovely people. Everyone was so happy to chat and get involved," she said. "This is my fourth time volunteering here and over the years I've made some firm, lifetime friends." Follow BBC Somerset on Facebook and X. The Batman 2 Gets Long-Awaited Update From Matt Reeves

After months of rumors, Matt Reeves has taken to social media to share an update on that will no doubt have fans excited. In a recent post on X, Reeves shared a photo of the now-finished script for The Batman Part II. In the background, he can be seen sitting next to Mattson Tomlin, who worked on script revisions on the original film, and who Reeves calls his partner in crime in the post. The post comes after months of rumors and reports on when Reeves would eventually finish the script for the highly anticipated movie. With the script now done, production can move forward on the sequel to the 2022 film. Check out the post below: The development of The Batman Part II has been a long one. The original film was released three years ago in 2022 and was a massive hit. Starring Pattinson as the titular hero, the film made over $770 million at the box office. Much of what we can expect from The Batman Part II remains clouded in mystery. Likewise, its status in the larger DCU is also a mystery as of now. Speaking to Rolling Stone in a recent interview, James Gunn was asked if there was still a 'non-zero' chance that Matt Reeves' Batman franchise will one day be in the DC Universe. Gunn revealed that the chances of it are 'not likely,' but wouldn't say for sure whether it would never appear. Robert Pattinson, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell are among the actors expected to return for The Batman Part II, reprising their respective roles as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Alfred Pennyworth, and Oz Cobb/Penguin from The Batman. Reeves has not disclosed who Pattinson's Caped Crusader will be facing off against in the sequel, although everyone from Two-Face and Clayface to Hush and the Court of Owls has been rumored.

Matt Reeves Confirms THE BATMAN: PART II Script Is Finished — GeekTyrant

It's been a long and winding road, but The Batman: Part II is finally making progress in a very real and exciting way. Director Matt Reeves has confirmed that the script for the highly anticipated sequel is done. He shared the news with a photo on X, showing himself and co-writer Mattson Tomlin on a couch with the finished screenplay resting on the table in front of them. Reeves captioned the image, 'Partners in Crime (Fighters.' After some fans have expressed their frustration with the development cycle, this moment should be a small sigh of relief for them. Ever since the sequel was announced back in April 2022, The Batman: Part II has faced more delays. James Gunn, now co-head of DC Studios, previously addressed fans' concerns, explaining that the holdup stemmed from the script still being in the works. 'Be patient,' he urged, backing Reeves and his creative process. Now that patience is paying off. The Batman: Part II is currently scheduled to hit theaters in October 2027. If everything stays on track, production is expected to begin next year, likely after Robert Pattinson wraps Dune: Messiah . Pattinson will return as Bruce Wayne, and we can probably expect Andy Serkis as Alfred and Colin Farrell's Penguin to resurface. While Gunn has described the film as 'really important' to DC's future, it exists outside of the mainline DCU continuity under the 'Elseworlds' label. That means it can keep its own tone, cast, and worldbuilding without having to mesh with upcoming DCU projects like The Brave and the Bold , which will introduce a new Batman entirely. Gunn knows the two versions will need to be distinct, and Reeves has more than proven he can carve out something unique. Now that the script is finished, the next step is likely approval from Gunn. We don't yet know who the new villain will be, but Reeves has teased something unexpected, someone that will 'surprise' fans. Considering the chilling presence of Paul Dano's Riddler in the first film, that's a high bar to clear. But Reeves has shown with The Batman and The Penguin series that he understands Gotham on a deep level. There's still a long way to go, but the Bat-symbol on a table, promising that this story will continue.
