Eagles' All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson says he feels better now than he did at age 30

USA Todaya day ago
During a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Eagles' All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson said he feels better now than he did at age 30.
Lane Johnson is the best right tackle in the NFL, a future Hall of Famer, and if you let him tell, he's just hitting his peak in the NFL. The 35-year-old Johnson has just completed his 12th NFL season. After watching Jason Kelce, Fletcher Cox, and Brandon Graham retire, he is the longest-tenured Eagles player and the heartbeat of the offensive line.
Philadelphia will return to the NovaCare Complex on July 21 for the start of training camp, and Johnson will likely be in the best shape of his career. During a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Johnson broke down his workout routine for the panel and admitted that this is the best he has felt in years.
Back in March, the Eagles agreed to terms on a one-year extension with the All-Pro right tackle that'll keep him under contract until the 2027 NFL season.
According to Adam Schefter, Johnson reworked his contract to add 8 million dollars over the next two years and an additional $30 million in guarantees. As he closes out his career, the soon-to-be 35-year-old Johnson will earn $48 million over the next two years, including $40 million guaranteed.
Last season, Johnson ranked 1st among NFL right tackles in PFF pass-blocking grade (88.1), pressure percentage (2.2%), and knockdown percentage (0.2%). He allowed zero sacks and one quarterback hit in 451 pass-blocking snaps.

Indianapolis Colts well represented in ranking of best draft picks at every draft slot

The Colts were well represented in ESPN's ranking of the best draft picks at every draft slot. ESPN's Ben Solak recently compiled his list of the best NFL draft picks from every draft slot, and well represented was the Indianapolis Colts. From pick No. 1 through 262, Solak selected who he believes is the best player selected at each of those draft slots. As Solak highlighted, "best" in this exercise is a combination of "most talented and most successful." In total, seven former Colts' draft picks made Solak's list. 1.1: Peyton Manning, QB The best No. 1 overall pick ever. Manning played 13 years with the Colts, which included winning a Super Bowl, making 11 Pro Bowls, five first-team All-Pros, and being named the league MVP four times. He is a Super Bowl champion, a five-time Pro Bowler, and a one-time All-Pro. 5.174: Freddie Scott, WR Scott was drafted by the Colts in 1974. He played four seasons with the then-Baltimore Colts, catching 39 passes for 619 yards. Over the next six seasons with Detroit, Scott caught 223 passes for 3,651 yards. He caught 20 touchdowns over his 10 NFL seasons. 6.205: Eugene Daniel, CB Daniel was selected by the Colts in 1984 and played 13 of his 14 NFL seasons with Indianapolis. Daniel appeared in 207 career games, which included 192 starts. He made 38 interceptions and 762 total tackles. 7.243: Jeff Herrod, LB Taken in the 1988 draft by the Colts, Herrod played 11 seasons in the NFL, 10 of which were with Indianapolis. He played in 153 games over his career with 125 starts, while coming away with five interceptions, 14.5 sacks, and 1,156 tackles. 7.245: Dave Studdard, OT Studdard was drafted by the Colts in 1978, but didn't ever actually play for the team. Timberwolves Assistant Micah Nori Targeted For Knicks Job

Timberwolves Assistant Micah Nori Targeted For Knicks Job originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New York Knicks are back in their chase for Minnesota Timberwolves coaches, but this time, it is not Chris Finch. They are now set to interview assistant coach Micah Nori, who has been a well-known assistant since 2009. Advertisement However, Nori has done a great job at being the lead assistant to Finch since 2021. They have worked well and produced results, most notably being their two consecutive Western Conference Finals appearances in 2024 and 2025. Credit: Jesse Johnson-Imagn Images After parting ways with Tom Thibodeau due to their loss in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Knicks have been hard at work at finding his replacement. They even tried to contact Finch, Ime Udoka, and Jason Kidd to interview for the job. The teams did not grant the Knicks permission, as Udoka even signed a contract extension with the Houston Rockets. Their latest target is Nori, who has been an excellent assistant across 16 years in the NBA. This includes the 2024 Playoffs when Finch suffered a torn patellar tendon. Nori has become well-respected around the league due to his multiple stints with teams, including the Toronto Raptors, Sacramento Kings, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, and the Timberwolves. He previously interviewed with the Phoenix Suns earlier in 2025, but he was not part of the finalists. Now, Nori is gunning for an even bigger job with the Knicks. Advertisement During his time with the Timberwolves, he has been featured in many tactical breakdowns and sideline interviews. He has become notorious for his unique metaphors and has been commended for communicating the Timberwolves' strategies well. That could translate well to the Knicks job, especially with his experience of coaching All-NBA big man Karl-Anthony Towns. Losing Nori Would Be A Big Blow For The Timberwolves Finch and Nori have formed a strong partnership since they joined the team in 2021. They have been the top two coaches on the team, and it is evident the players love Nori. Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards has even called him an extension of Finch when Nori had to lead practice in Finch's absence. Advertisement "He's an extended version of Finchy. They always together, they're always talking. So it's pretty much the same. Finchy still here, still talkin', regulating s**t. So it's no different," Edwards said back in May 2024. With the connection they have built through the years, it would be a shame if the Timberwolves lose Nori to the Knicks. However, the team would be pleased to see him get a head coaching job. It is not assured he will get the job though, as he has some stiff competition. He is the third coach they have interviewed, as former Memphis Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins and former two-time Coach of the Year winner Mike Brown are vying for the same position.
