Drug baron lived champagne lifestyle alongside celebrities before life crumbled

Well-spoken drug lord Keith Shea and his wife Sara, from Wallasey, were found to have earned at least £4,089,545 - with much more frittered away on their lavish lifestyle - by selling cocaine
A drug baron lived a champagne lifestyle and rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous after making millions peddling cocaine.
University-educated Keith Shea and his wife Sara - who helped him launder the dirty cash - enjoyed a lavish lifestyle after earning £4,089,545 while people's lives were ruined through his supply of the addictive Class A drug.

However, they earned far more and blew most of it on a jet set lifestyle - splashing out thousands on luxury holidays, expensive jewellery and designer clothes.

They spent £12,000 on flights to Barbados, where they tied the knot, before dropping another £6,000 for a party at the luxury Hillbark Hotel in Wirral.
Police eventually raided their home in Wallasey, where they found £12,000 worth of handbags, £100,000 his-and-hers Chopard watches, and a Skorpion sub machine gun.

A £110,000 Aston Martin was parked on their driveway, alongside a £76,000 Porsche and a £46,500 BMW. Moreover, Shea would have a chauffeur drive him from their grand detached house in Wallasey all the way to London to dine at the most exclusive and fashionable restaurants.
He was also frequently spotted in front row seats and corporate hospitality boxes at major sporting events worldwide - including the favourite of the super-rich, the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix.
When police examined the accounts, forensic accountants determined that Keith Shea had profited by £3,971,660 from his crimes, while his wife had gained an additional £117,885.

However, their facade of a perfect life crumbled when the seemingly respectable baron was spotted by police leaving a lock-up garage. The officers swooped in on the garage where Shea would stash and package class A drugs.
Upon his arrest, police discovered 3,128 ecstasy tablets inside a toolbox, alongside amphetamine paste, a significant amount of cocaine, the cutting agent benzocaine, scales, food mixers, and a hydraulic press, as reported by the ECHO.

After Shea's apprehension in January 2007, Liverpool Crown Court was told that the street value of his drug cache was a staggering £4.4 million.
A subsequent search of Shea's Wirral residence led to suspicions he was planning an upscale move to "footballer's row" with an £800,000 mansion in Caldy – a neighbourhood favoured by Merseyside's Premier League footballers – after an estate agent's brochure was found on his coffee table.

Police also uncovered photos of Shea and his cronies enjoying corporate hospitality at the 2006 Open Golf Championship in Hoylake, and family tickets for the Cricket World Cup in Barbados.
Shea had forked out £30,000 in cash for the Barbados trip but was arrested before he could take flight.

Court hearings later disclosed that Shea utilised various locations for drug packaging and distribution, including a Wallasey flat on Sandringham Drive where a wardrobe concealed an array of firearms. His lethal collection included a loaded Skorpion sub-machine gun, revolvers, a silencer, and a magazine.
Found alongside the firearms were hollow bullets, designed to expand on impact.
Shea admitted to conspiracy to supply cocaine, ecstasy and amphetamine. He also entered guilty pleas for six counts of possessing prohibited firearms and four counts of having ammunition without a certificate, resulting in a 15-year prison sentence.

Julian Nutter, defending, informed the court that Shea had been drawn into the drug trade after becoming a user himself. He mentioned Shea's remorse and the fact that his wife was divorcing him due to his criminal activities.
His wife was subsequently imprisoned for two-and-a-half years for her role in laundering his illicit earnings. Insp Ian Shaw, from Merseyside Police, commented at the sentencing: "Shea is one of those characters that really sticks in the public's throat. He lived this extravagant lifestyle with all the trimmings yet had no visible means of support.

"He had the cars, the house and was at any sporting event you care to mention. His extravagances show exactly the kind of cash Shea had to throw around.
"We found evidence linking his drugs network right across the UK, from Merseyside to Devon and Cornwall. And from our investigations, he had dealt in at least 100 kilos of cocaine – worth in the region of £5m.
"Shea is university educated and well-spoken but along with dealing in drugs there was a much more sinister side to him. We recovered numerous firearms during our investigations, including a Scorpion machine pistol with silencer, which is a very nasty piece of kit."
Shea most recently emerged when he was photographed at a charity gala held at Wirral's upmarket Thornton Hall Hotel in 2015. Sporting black tie attire, Shea beamed for cameras at the £720-per-table, three-course fundraising event.

Morgan Gibbs-White holds further talks with Nottingham Forest amid dispute over planned £60m move to Tottenham, but does train with his team-mates as Premier League weighs up investigation

Morgan Gibbs-White has held further talks with Nottingham Forest and trained with his team-mates amid his club's dispute with Tottenham. The England international looked set to sign for Spurs last week for about £60million, until the deal was dramatically halted when Forest reported Spurs to the Premier League for an alleged 'illegal' approach. That meant Gibbs-White was back at Forest's training ground on Monday, having been given extra time off because he played for England in June. The 25-year-old has a release clause which Spurs are thought to have triggered, but Forest were furious with their approach and accused them of effectively tapping up the player. Mail Sport understands Forest told Tottenham not to make any further contact with Gibbs-White and have written to both Spurs and the Premier League. Premier League officials are now likely to decide whether to investigate. Should they do so, and should Spurs be found guilty, they could face a hefty fine or even a transfer ban. While Forest declined to comment, it is thought they attempted to resolve the situation amicably, but have not been able to do so. As a result, an explosive letter has been sent to Tottenham and the Premier League. They have also raised the prospect of legal action. Spurs declined to comment and the League were contacted for comment. The midfielder has four England caps and had been of interest to Manchester City this summer.

Manager disgusted after car reverses into Llandeilo café

Between 8.30 and 9.10am on Thursday, July 10, a BMW reportedly drove into Café Braz in Llandeilo. The chairs and tables outside the premises were "smashed up", while the driver left no note to inform the café staff. A chair was 'completely destroyed' during the incident. (Image: Cafe Braz) Manager at Café Braz, Alysha Coombs, said: 'Before we opened, I was walking the work and noticed that some of the chairs had been smashed up and a table had been damaged. 'I spoke to a window cleaner who works near the café, and he said that a BMW had reversed back into the tables and caused the damage. Meanwhile, there was no note left over for us, or anything put through the door to inform us of what had happened. 'The lights from the BMW were also left all over the floor and one of the chairs was completely destroyed. 'Nothing has ever happened like this before. We were utterly disgusted, but we haven't reached out to the police yet for an investigation. We're hoping someone will come forward with more information.' Café Braz does not have CCTV installed so the owners have so far been unable to find the person responsible. But according to what Alysha was told, the driver of the BMW had reversed towards the window cleaner because he thought that he knew him and was about to say hello. He then realised he didn't know him and ended up reversing the car back into the café rather than using first gear and going forward. Alysha continued: 'It's not ideal because we have a classic car show on Sunday. We're just glad that there were no kids sitting on the chair when the incident happened because they would have been hurt. 'From what I have been told, the BMW sustained a lot of damage. The driver had to get out of the car just to pull the table out of his vehicle. 'We believe it's a one-off incident, but we are still going to install CCTV outside. We have been under new ownership for just seven months, and this was a bit of a shock to the owners.' Café Braz has since posted on Facebook asking for witnesses to come forward. A spokesperson wrote: 'Did anyone witness a silver BMW crash into the tables and chairs of Café Braz this morning between 8:30am and 9:10am? 'I believe it was an 18 plate but I'm not certain. I was told by a witness that there was significant damage to the rear of the vehicle, however they were unable to provide us with the number plate."

Manchester United being sued by former player for ‘clinical negligence'

Axel Tuanzebe is suing his former club Manchester United over 'clinical negligence' during his time with the Red Devils. The Telegraph report that Tuanzebe has lodged a legal claim at the High Court over 'medical advice' he received during his time with Manchester United. The 27-year-old came through the youth ranks at Manchester United after joining the club at eight years old. He made his senior debut in 2015 and went on to play 37 times in all competitions for the first team before a permanent departure in 2023. The defender went out on loan spells to Aston Villa, Napoli and Stoke from Old Trafford, before leaving permanently and signing for Ipswich. That move proved successful as he helped the Tractor Boys get promoted to the Premier League, but after their relegation last season he left and has since signed for Burnley. While it has been a good career so far for the DR Congo international, it has been heavily impacted by injury. As he turns 28 later this year, Tuanzebe has only made 135 appearances in all competitions in his club career. He is now looking to take legal action against his first professional club, suggesting 'clinical negligence' from Manchester United impacted him negatively. Tuanzebe signed for newly-promoted Burnley this season to continue his career in the Premier League. 'It became a very simple decision after speaking to the manager and the message was very clear, precise and straight to the point,' he said last month. 'It's a new chapter for me, back in the vicinity of Manchester and home and I'm ready to continue my journey now at Burnley.' More Trending The Clarets have also signed Kyle Walker, Quilindschy Hartman, Max Weiss and Loum Tchaouna so far this summer, with manager Scott Parker pleased with the business. 'We've brought in some very good players, and good business with that as well,' said Parker. 'Hopefully there is some more to come, and we can keep developing and pushing. 'I'm delighted with the business we've done so far.'
