Delhi Metro tickets now available on more than 10 popular apps. Here's the list.
The service is also available on Chartr, Highway Delite, OneTicket, Tummoc, Yatri Railways, and a Telegram bot operated by Miles & Kilometres.
Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC, Thursday said, 'This partnership with ONDC is part of our effort to simplify metro travel and bring it into the digital spaces people already use every day.'
'By offering ticketing through multiple familiar apps, we are removing the friction that often comes with transit access,' he added.
According to a DMRC spokesperson, this integration is the first such large-scale rollout by an urban transit system in India and marks a step towards building open, interoperable digital infrastructure for mobility. DMRC went live on the ONDC Network in November 2024 in a soft launch.
Enabled through a single-point integration, the ticketing system allows metro journeys to be planned alongside inter-city or local transport. For instance, a traveller arriving by bus from Jaipur to ISBT Kashmere Gate can now book both their bus and metro ticket via redBus. Similarly, users of the Rapido app can plan a bike ride to the metro station, book the metro journey, and then complete the last leg via the same app.
'The integration of DMRC into the ONDC Network illustrates how open digital ecosystems can enable broader, more seamless access to public services,' said Vibhor Jain, Acting Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, ONDC. 'By connecting once to the Network, DMRC can now offer ticketing across a range of everyday apps without needing custom integrations for each one,' he added.
The DMRC spokesperson emphasised that this collaboration aligns with the metro's broader digital vision of simplifying the commuter experience while expanding its service footprint.

No Cabs, No Clarity: Ola-Uber Drivers Extend Mumbai Strike, Airport Issues Travel Advisory
Last Updated: As app-based cab drivers rally for fair wages and stronger protections, Mumbai faces widespread travel chaos with little relief in sight. Mumbai's daily commuters are grappling with major transport delays yet again as Ola and Uber drivers continue their protest for a second consecutive day. The strike, which began on July 15, has gained momentum with thousands of app-based drivers from across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) gathering at Azad Maidan near CSMT. Why Are Drivers Protesting? At the core of the protest is the demand for fare rationalisation in line with RTO-approved tariffs. Drivers say they earn just Rs 8–Rs 9 per kilometre, which they argue is not enough to cover rising fuel prices, vehicle maintenance, and loan repayments. Protesters are also calling for: A ban on bike taxis like Rapido A cap on cab and auto permits to control oversupply Reinstatement of deactivated accounts A proper welfare board for drivers A fair grievance redressal system 'We're being exploited. Ola and Uber charge high commissions and leave us with nothing," said a protesting driver, as per Free Press Journal. The situation has been especially tough for people heading to or from Mumbai Airport. The airport authority issued a public advisory on X, urging passengers to check for transport availability and make backup plans. Many travellers faced delays, missed rides, and last-minute hassles. Furthermore, commuters have shared disturbing accounts of ride disruptions. Rakesh Shah from Mulund said, 'Protesters forced my driver to cancel mid-ride. It was frightening." Others reported being stranded for hours, as striking drivers blocked or threatened working ones. What Lies Ahead? Union leaders claim this was meant to be a one-day dharna, but protests spilled into Wednesday with no clear end in sight. They accuse the government of ignoring the Maharashtra Gig Workers' Act and failing to take firm action on illegal operators. view comments First Published: July 17, 2025, 09:51 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
